Honored Artist of the RSFSR, People's Artist of Russia, People's Artist of the Georgian SSR Efim Isayevich Baikovsky - a native of Sverdlovsk, he was born on March 24, 1928.
Baikovsky received an acting education, graduating in 1947 from the studio that worked at the Leningrad State New Theater (now the Leningrad Theater). For the next ten years, Efim Baikovsky toured the scenes of Murmansk, Orel, Vilnius, Kazan, collecting invaluable knowledge and skills of acting on the stage.
One of the most productive periods of his creative life occurred in 1957-1969, when Baikovsky served in the Chelyabinsk Drama Theater. Tall, stately, he was unique in the role of heroes-lovers, he managed well and the role of heroic and household plan. His first role on this stage was the role of Chatsky in “Woe from Wit”. Subsequently, he was engaged in productions of “Anna Karenina”, “The Power of Darkness”, “The Unprivileged”, “King Lear”, “Philumena Marturano”, “Barbarians”, “Battle on the Road”, “Ocean”, “Chamber”, “Conscience”. In the mid-sixties, Baikovsky at the Chelyabinsk Drama Theatre named after S. Zwilling organized an acting studio, from the walls of which actresses Zinaida Rumyantseva, Svetlana Pogrebnyak and director of the Kazan Russian Theatre Alexander Slavutsky came out among many. At the same time, in the Chelyabinsk State Pedagogical Institute, he created a dramatic student theater, one of the productions of this (amateur!) theater - "Invisible Lady" - was especially popular with the audience and was taken on tour to Sverdlovsk.
But the Ural climate was difficult for Baikovsky’s wife, Nina Alekseevna Artunovskaya, and in 1970 the actor’s family moved to Tbilisi. Here Baikovsky was the leading artist in the famous throughout the Union Russian theater named after A.S. Griboyedov. The next move - and Efim Isayevich becomes an actor of the Leningrad academic theater named after A.S. Pushkin. After moving to Moscow, the actor worked at the Moscow New Drama Theatre, and then joined the troupe of the Mayakovsky Moscow Academic Theatre.
On the screen Baikovsky made his debut in
The Gardens of Semiramis in 1970. Then he was invited to the films and TV series "Escape at Dawn", "The Coast",
"Solar wind" "Plague on both your houses!", "Kulagin and partners", "The adult life of a girl Polina Subbotina", "Dirty work". /
