She graduated from the Moscow Art Theatre School-Studio in 1959 (V. Stanitsyn course) and was accepted into the Sovremennik Theatre troupe. She played the younger sister ("Big Sister"), Natasha ("At the bottom"), Valentine's Mother ("Valentine and Valentina"), Masha ("Echelon"), Golubeva ("Alone with all"), Podrezova ("Eastern tribune"), Fru Alving ("Ghosts"), Zhanna Korableva ("Accompanist"). In 2004, she was accepted into the troupe of the Art Theatre, where she plays in the productions of Kirill Serebrennikov: “Peterchants” (Akulina Ivanovna), “Presenting the Victim” (Woman in a kimono), “Lord Golovleva” (Arina Petrovna Golovleva).
Directing works: “Baby’s Kingdom” (the Moscow Art Theater named after A. P. Chekhov), “Romeo and Juliet” (the Pushkin Theater) and “Cosmetics of the Enemy” (the Pushkin Theater).
He teaches at the acting faculty of the Moscow Art Theatre School and in its foreign branches (K.S. Stanislavsky Summer School in Cambridge, postgraduate program with Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh).
For her work in the performance of the Moscow Art Theatre “Meshchany” together with Andrey Myagkov, Alla Pokrovskaya was awarded the theatrical award “The Seagull” (2004, the nomination “Best Acting Duo”).
