Smolyakov Andrei Igorevich was born in the small town of Podolsk in 1958. Andrey Smolyakov owes his life to doctors. At the age of three, he contracted the most dangerous disease - meningitis. He began to study Smolyakov in the famous “Pike”, then moved to GITIS, where Oleg Tabakov himself became his master mentor. After graduating from the Institute in 1980, Andrei Smolyakov began to play in the Moscow Drama Theater named after Gogol, in 1984 he moved to work in the Satyricon Theater, and since 1987 he plays in the theater-studio under the leadership of Oleg Tabakov. Andrei Smolyakov has the titles of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation (since 1995) and People's Artist (this title was awarded to him in 2004). Loud titles to the actor was given primarily for work on the stage of the theater. He is best known for his roles in movies.
Andrei Smolyakov has played in more than 80 films. He is an amazingly diverse actor: he can play both heroes and charismatic villains, comic characters, positive people and disgusting criminals. Smolyakov made his debut in the film “Kiss Dawns” in 1977. To date, he is one of the most popular and beloved by the audience of the actor of domestic cinema. The most memorable films with his participation are “The Penalty”, “Gypsy Happiness”, “The Killing Power” and many others. In 2002, he was awarded the Stanislavsky Prize and the prize from the jury “Moscow Premiere” for his role as Bryuscon on the stage of the theater in the play “Lycedes”.
The actor does not like to talk about his personal life. His wife is the famous ballerina of the Bolshoi Theatre Svetlana Ivanova. She now works as a teacher at the Academy of Choreography. And his son Dmitry is now a student of the production faculty of the Moscow Art Theater.
