When the hero has no history at all, then it becomes uninteresting to watch him, since in many ways the writers offer to believe in his conditional selectivity, coolness and courage just because he is so by nature. How was Sarah Connor different from Daniela? Perhaps, the first parts of The Terminator come to mind, in which the authors tried to give the character of Linda Hamilton depth, drama and a strong tragedy, which the new heroine is almost completely deprived of. This is the first thing that catches your eye when you watch Dark Fate.
We are offered to believe in its exceptionalism, which already smells like a kind of deception, because otherwise the creators of the sixth part cannot, because all their attempts to swing at the great film at once collapse and turn everything into a pun. Tim Miller’s work does not bring anything new to the universe that Cameron’s fans and fans have been waiting for for so long, although the latter here also clearly did not run near the crew for the kindness of his soul. Everyone was waiting if not a strong speech, then at least a clear film, but all these wet dreams were thrown into the trumpet.
From now on, there is no doom, hopelessness or awareness of their futility, because everyone is waiting for only heart-to-heart conversations, not an apocalypse, nuclear strikes or a machine uprising. In Miller, these details go somehow casually, a kind of tiny flashback, and even then in order to fill the striking voids between the dialogues of the declared characters. Moreover, they are made albeit too catchy, but are not without the abstractness of graphic effects, strongly bulging directly into the eyes of the audience. His Majesty the Countess rules the director’s ball, making the picture somewhat frivolous.
And that’s half the trouble, because it could be forgiven if you don’t take into account the same plot in which the creators of “Dark Fates” try to pull new skin on old bones. This is not about actors, although here veterans are clearly invited to keep this movie afloat, but about the secondary nature of the story in relation to Cameron’s first films. As they say, these are the same eggs, just the side view. At the same time, in the sixth picture, feminism is diligently pushed, where strong and independent women are pushed ahead, although in the twentieth century they were protected by men.
All this reminds me of a sad joke, when naked girls throw their enemies in packs, and our beloved Arnold is somewhere behind, revelling in stories about draping curtains. Yes, you clearly heard right, because now the once mighty T-800 is more busy sewing curtains, although history does everything to justify its motives. It turns out to be weak, shaky, roll and just stupid, but there were no boundaries for Tim Miller, who accelerated for real. It would be better not to shoot at all, but now it is somehow too late to talk about it.
Of course, there is no evil without good, because for all the absurdity of the authors a little lull the audience with battle scenes and fights, which sometimes look still interesting. The battle during the flight of the plane, the crash of the unfortunate Hummer on the dam and the farewell twists still pull this donkey by the ears, but in general, the picture of the stars from the sky is missing. She looks a little better than the mentioned “Genesis”, but she is not hot or cold from such a comparison. Maybe it’s all about the script, where there is not even a gram of elegance; clumsy text, giving rise to another bastard of the series.
“Dark Fate” resembles a free remake, in which the authors managed to re-spoil a simple porridge, mercilessly burned on the gas burner of world cinema. “Terminator” is now long-suffering and almost laid in a coffin, but still some woe-creators believe that it is better for them to dance on bones and further than to develop a joyless world of the future. There was something similar, by the way, but at least people tried to expand the base, which is clearly not observed here. Yes, the Abstract Legion took the place of Skynet, and so what?
There is one episode in Part Six where Sarah Connor gives a bitter quote about how these idiots learned nothing. Of course, we are aware that she has drawn a line under the military, scientists and others, who plotted another artificial cadaver in the gloomy laboratories. You have to run from it, not fight it. Well, God would be with him, unless you apply the phrase of the heroine Hamilton in relation to the greedy producers, diligently and ruthlessly tormenting the already half-dead body of “Terminator”. Everything is the fault of money, money, as it was sung in “Treasure Island”, that’s for sure – neither conscience, nor holiness, these bosses have nothing behind their souls.
You know, they invited the old guard, they refreshed the memory of the old story, and then what? The film paid off poorly, the people did not accept such a calculus, and the unhappy universe was almost driven into the grave. Or did you make it? Tired concept does not take out for a long time, as it is boring to look at the same thing for the hundredth time. John Connor was rescued spectacularly, there was an idea, and then what? Who in the woods, who in the woods, honestly. Sometimes when watching “Dark Fates” it becomes downright awkward, what, watching a naked girl spinning in a dance with the police.
How was it before? Kyle Reese was a tired man, sent back to the past, but still he was a whole hero who wanted to empathize. Miller fills the savior with all sorts of details and buns to make life easier for everyone later. The soldier is modernized, made a semi-robot, but this is done for justification, because without such crutches, the movie will stall altogether. It is not worth talking about the bad guy, he does not produce here as furniture and wow effect. You remember that Robert Patrick, there's a jitter on the skin, and here? You'll forget that.
So if you watch "Dark Fate", it is stupid for a tick in the track record. To return to this for some reason I do not want, because in the soul he does not touch even the notes of nostalgia. Yes, there are old artists here, but they alone can't take this disposable dummy to a higher level. Arnold and Linda flex muscles, shoot, fight and try to be the same, which is already given to them with difficulty. For their efforts, of course, honor and praise, but would it not be better to let the old men go to rest? Moreover, the picture itself has already managed to bury Miller’s career, as soon as it just managed to begin.

The last nail? I think it's -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --
After the release of the second Terminator, which was met with applause, James Cameron decided to take on other stories and did not want to return to a story that had a perfect ending. But recklessly, he transferred all the rights to the work to other producers and as a result, the world saw several failed sequels. However, over time, Cameron got his back and took on the development of a new film, the direct sequel to "Doomsday." But it didn't work out well.
Ignoring all the development options created by other authors, producer Cameron and director Tim Miller began the story with the fact that John Connor still dies at the hands of the Terminator and now the world has lost its savior. But the sacred place is not empty, and now two decades later, the Mexican Dani was chosen for this position. But she doesn’t know anything yet.
Terminators keep coming from the future, and one of them is targeting Dani. And to protect her from death should the same Sarah Connor, as well as the mysterious girl Grace, who also came from the future and has special skills that are now definitely useful in order to survive.
Not without the old Arnold Schwarzenegger, who really wanted to return to his cult role, but instead of a harsh silent robot played a parody of himself. Now he's just Carl, who lives with a woman and a child, sells curtains and his whole board guy in some province. Sadly, it was just awful how you don't get close to that character.
Of course, the authors tried to repeat the success of the second part and again built the story as a chase and a thriller, but still it is more an attempt to imitate than a full-fledged movie. In addition, Cameron personally destroyed a fair share of the mythology of the franchise and it is not surprising that fans did not forgive him.
So the film definitely turned out to be weak and it actually drove the Terminator franchise into a deplorable state from which it most likely will not be able to get out. I would like no one to resurrect what has already worked out and will remain in the history of cinema. And all sequels just do not need anyone.
My impression of the film "Terminator: Dark Fate" (2019).
So, before I talk about my impressions of this film, let me step back a little, or rather, much.
The Terminator 1st and 2nd I, like many of my generation, first watched as a child. Then they were shown on television, and you could buy a cassette. In those years, such films were perceived differently, and the age was different, the consciousness was different and the attitude to fiction in principle. Many connoisseurs of the Terminator franchise consider the best part and probably the only worthwhile film, Terminator 2: Judgment Day. I’m not going to argue with it, although I think he was the best in those years. I also don’t understand people’s desire to watch this movie often. Well, about the first two films I will say this: excellent fantastic action films of the time, which are deservedly considered examples of classics.
However, film and film technology did not stand still. And, of course, producers and directors could not miss this and not apply the whole range of innovations, including computer three-dimensional graphics, surround sound and of course Real 3D technology. No wonder the 2nd part of Terminator was remade in 3D and I think there were a lot of people who appreciated this transfer. By the way, I have not seen any part about the Terminator in 3D format.
Finally, I come to the latest Terminator movie. As in the previous ones, its title contains the main idea or theme of the film. This time we will learn about the dark fates. Whose fate? Of course people's lives. I will not reveal the plot of the film, although I am calm about spoilers. I will only say that the plot is outrageously predictable, but at the same time it looks different than in the film T2: Judgment Day. There's drama, there's action, and there's a bit of humor, even if you want to get under a chair and not hear it. The whole movie made me feel like I was watching a remake of the second part, but with characters from the first. And new actors and characters, in my opinion, do not go well with old ones. The reason for this, I think, is a very different way of acting and maybe a different way of thinking about my role in the film. In general, the "old people" here are trying to teach young people, but it turns out to be bad. But at the same time, Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger play great, despite their already respectable age. As for the new Terminator (RD seems), it is great in every way, that is, both in terms of the actor’s play and in terms of special effects created by the film crew. But the actress who played the terminator-defender, does not cause the same enthusiastic emotions and sensations: apparently, here the writers and director of the ideas ran out.
I will not dwell on each character, storylines and scenes in detail, but only note that the film was controversial, but at the same time, and not passable, like, for example, the fifth part of the series. In my opinion, this is the best modern Terminator film. And, of course, the first two parts will remain classics in their genre.

Terrifically bad. They tried to fill the old canvas with new content and at the same time leave it as it was. Mutually exclusive goals. In fact, one step was missing before the remake. But maybe I'm just stuck in the past and this is a new approach? Hardly. If it's new wine, why put it in old bottles? Take contemporary stories. There is no point in reanimating a plot that worked at the peak of the nuclear confrontation. No one is trying to remake “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” or “Pulp Fiction” with great racial diversity and in a feminist vein. A new vision does not need old ideas from the past. And if you grasp the old, then there is no new vision. As usual, deciding to please everyone, Hollywood did not please anyone. The film raises one serious question: let’s say the creators would be tasked with making the script worse. What would they come up with? Is it possible to invent something worse? Some twists are like a thrash parody. One gets the impression that the exhausted screenwriters began to insert fierce trolling into the plots. The producers don’t even notice that.
A normal continuation of the franchise, I don’t know why it failed. No worse than "let the savior come." Something in the style of the legendary T-2 turned out
Just now I decided to see “Dark Fate” exactly after watching “The Matrix”: Resurrection (not a bad movie, but the production could have been better). Like many people, the Terminator franchise is one of the favorite movies about robots. Her pearl was, is and remains "Terminator 2: Judgment Day", which could not surpass any sequel, including this one. Closest in spirit to her "Rise of the Machines" with memorable heroes (weary of the uncertainty of the vagabond-rogue John Connor, his ignorant and overnight lost friend involuntarily Catherine Brewster, still unflappable messenger of the dark future of the T-800, and finally the beautiful and murderous Kristana Locken in the role of T-X). The most underrated part of the franchise is “Terminator: Salvation”, with a good-natured semi-terminator Marcus performed by Sam Worthington, he is Jake Sally from the divine “Avatar”, young but able to survive Kyle Reese performed by the now deceased our countryman Anton Yelchin, and finally with the sullen and matured John Connor played by Christian Bale from the trilogy about Batman Christopher Nolan.
When the news of Genesis came out, I was happy at first - the Terminator was back! In fact, there was nothing to rejoice: another sea of computer graphics, unforgettable characters, a weak plot. it was a shame that old Arnie got involved in this. With the current Dark Fate, the situation is not much better. Now Linda Hamilton is back as Sarah Connor and, I must say, she is the main decoration of the film. A new adversary, a nanotechnological terminator with the ability to separate a nanolayer into a single sibling, is essentially a compilation of all previous antagonists. Replacing John with a Mexican girl didn't stir up emotions either. Her protector, a super-soldier girl, is much more interesting, and it would be even more interesting if her ward was a boyfriend, they would have an affair. Old Arnie returned to the image of the aging T-800, however, his motivation is doubtful, but gave the franchise a new crown phrase - "For John!" The film has enough interesting chases, which were added to the air. Not to be surprised - all parts of the "Terminator" are essentially a road movie. However, the film lacks originality, we have already seen all this - even in the fourth part, where in fact someone is saved, we at least showed the Terminator World and survival in it, and the characters there were not bland. In the new film, if it is, I would like to see a new reboot, because the current one failed again.
Hopefully, the new part of the franchise will not repeat the dark fate of the previous one.
For me, the whole idea of the terminator was stated exclusively in the second part.
Even the very first film is just a meaningless shooter, but the second set out the essence of the uncertainty of fate and its dependence on our actions.
What makes this film so special?
The film completely destroys the idea of exclusivity and the cult of a particular person, which should first become it.
The film shows the truth in the mind, not in weapons. It is not a mechanical, indestructible terminator that fights with people, but an evolved intellect that, once realized as an entity, can no longer be called artificial. They say that you can break the iron, but the intellect cannot and the truth cannot be removed, the intellect can only evolve, outdated versions are either destroyed or oppressed, everything is like people.
The terminator here is the embodiment of intelligence. All paths lead to Zion, or the Source. Don’t you feel the intricacies and trends?
I felt it. We are talking about the evolution of the mind, which has its own concepts of morality, which are contrary to human ones.
And the more I watch modern cinema, the more I realize that humanity is already on the edge of the abyss, as Arnold T-800 warned. Having no goal, increasing exclusively the computational abilities of electronic machines, trying to draw a fraction of the efficiency of available energy sources. Trying to get less energy from food.
That's the point of the terminator. He's the perfect machine. He can kill, he can protect. Set goals that don’t go against your program.
This film is not one that you should like or dislike right after watching. This is just a small spark from a future subset of ideas.
You looked and you see that here it is filmed very simply, here it was flooded with special effects, and here the plot is bad / well brought.
I don’t know if the goal of the filmmakers was to make people think after watching. But I can see exactly how the writers’ thinking has degraded. And most importantly, the directors.
Apparently, in order to create a good movie, you need to call the best team to shoot and cut the budget so that each new scene was suffering by everyone, absolutely everyone who took part in it.
And already I foresee a heavy psychedelic picture on the Terminator, which will show a departure from shooting and chasing to the battle of intelligence.
Multiplicity, which manifests itself in reality, as if a warm blanket with which the human eye is covered in a dream, a fantasy about what could happen creates a certain image in which thoughts about the past and the future are combined, where the edge is just an appearance that cannot answer all questions - what will happen, because it could be.
The Terminator franchise is unique in its own way, starting with the very first film in 1984 and each time trying to find new reflections of the story. “Dark Fate” became a kind of ending of the plot and the beginning of the story with its truth, which has found its face, it is a kind of farewell, but who knows about the existence of eternity.
From the point of view of visualization, the Terminator has always been distinguished by a high-quality video sequence, from the very beginning, finding any delights of demonstrativeness, plot adhering to a fantasy that has no limitations, a vision of a possible, but not fulfilled with my own eyes. The Terminator became a unique phenomenon, but at the same time delineated in itself, which created a certain difficulty for penetrating into even greater unknown.
And if ever knowing what is going to be yours doesn’t mean that there’s just this path, it just says that there’s everything that’s going on in the universe, and every step can start something new where maybe life doesn’t lose its value.
So I got to the last part of the Terminator at the moment, but I hope there will be no more sequels. In this part, the producer is Cameron himself, who is responsible for the first two films of the franchise. We also have actors from the first two films. However, whether it helped the picture, I doubt.
I didn’t immediately like the secondary. This was seen in the previous part, but here it is even more noticeable. Terminators don't stand out except for a split chip, but that's it. The new characters are essentially old characters, but in a new guise, but we'll come back to them. Even the ending is a direct borrowing. And it doesn't look like a tribute, it's just an inability to bring something new to the story.
The second problem is that the movie is boring to watch. Added to the lack of novelty is the fact that the narrative slows down significantly and sags in the middle. I almost always noted the dynamics in the films of this series, but in this case even it leaves much to be desired. A lot of time is spent on some arguments, stories that can be safely thrown away. Also going back to the characters, they are not revealed, we just showed a few flashbacks about them and not really disclosed. And this is unacceptable in this case, given that they are clearly prototypes of characters from previous films.
Smaller disadvantages are the lack of humor and atmosphere. The first is a minus, because the film is not exciting enough, there is still no discharge with the help of a joke, for two hours I have never even smiled. It's especially unfortunate when Arnie walks around with a stone face and there are no funny moments with him. Of course, you do not need to hyperbolize, as in the last part, but also to miss the opportunity to joke is not a good idea. Well, with regard to the atmosphere, this has been visible for a long time and there is no such thing here at all, this is just an ordinary action movie without a highlight.
But still there are pluses, or rather, I single out two of them and only because of them I can not call the film frankly bad. The first is Linda Hamilton. She's beautiful here. I was afraid that she would turn into a pathetic parody of her former self, but she still hasn't lost all her skill, and when you look at her, you know that good old Sarah Connor. Well, the second plus in the classic is action. It became more artificial, but quite high quality. Terminators look great, explosions, chases are also at a decent level. It is also necessary to note the rejuvenation, the characters look qualitative, do not distinguish from the original.
Conclusion. The work was quite medium and secondary. Cameron, unfortunately, could not influence anything. I recommend watching it for Linda Hamilton, or if you want to watch any action movie regardless of its plot and characters.
.. Once again, the re/continuing legendary franchise, stalled with cult status on the proud number 2 back in 1991 and shot by James Cameron, now attracted to theaters not so much the legendary Arnie (Arnie has long been out of the zenith of fame, if you will, in retirement and has long been a decent box office with his participation did not collect) and not even returned to the project Linda Hamilton (the star of Hollywood never became an actress – the eternal Sarah Connor), but James Cameron, who repeatedly repeated the film, as part 5, and the team just forgot 3. Count them out. And after the cult “Judgment Day” is this, the sixth (third) part of “Terminator: Dark Fate”. And James Cameron personally guarantees the coolness and quality of this film. And not in words, but confirming the script and production!
. . As it turned out, at the end of the box office race, by the time the currency was counted, Cameron’s surname from the category of failures disappeared sharply and, realizing that the franchise had finally stalled, and the film failed, everyone sharply forgot the name of the famous director. It's like he never was. It’s like Miller and everyone else failed. And Cameron is still the author of the inimitable and great “Titanic”, “Avatar”, “Terminator 2: Judgment Day”, but not the writer or producer of this film. In general, the famous person, who makes not brilliant, but very good films for the mass audience, did not publicly admit his guilt in the failures of this film, but behaved in a brutal and bastardic manner, in my opinion. God is the judge of him! .
By and large, the film turned out not bad. Yeah, no better than the first two. But not worse than everyone else. And in general, there are no openly failed films in the entire franchise. They're just a little different. And if the second became a really cult film, then all the others did not gain such status. Although, in my subjective opinion, each of the parts is much better than all the many-faced modern militants that are produced in our time. Oh, come on!
Of course, feminism is annoying, if it is not hot! The main characters of the film are 3 women. 3! Sorry, Carl, three women! I confess that as soon as I learned, long before the premiere, that it will be primarily about women, I immediately panicked, because there is NOT ONE film where a man in the background would be successful! Not one!!! Without detracting from their acting skills and talent, but a man in the lead roles must also be! This is very important for any film. After all, a man takes his charisma, masculinity. And no matter how masculine women are, they can’t make a movie. It's an axiom!
The second stone: plot and characters. I'm sick of Mexico! How many times can you shoot her in every movie? In almost every tape!! Again, this notorious Mexican border, "mucho gracias" and Mexican talk and household. To be honest with you!
Little town. Almost all action takes place either in factories / bunkers. Or on the roads, in the middle of deserts and fields. Bottom line: a little boring! Smells like crap and not as interesting as it could be. I want a full-fledged urban action movie, which was the first part. After all, in the city and people more, and more fun and much more locations and extras.
Computer cinema... Watching the unreal smooth movements of cyborgs, drawn special effects, chromocey – already enough! What was the coolness of the first and second part – the whole fantasy of the film’s authors was in the course, how to make this or a dummy or make a believable combined shooting... It is interesting to observe here in principle. But I'm sorry, I'm sure, like you, much more interesting to watch the natural and risky for life tricks of Tom Cruise on a motorcycle in Paris than Dwayne Johnson on the background of a limp, or, as in our case, the entire quartet of saviors of the planet Earth somewhere in the studios of Los Angeles.
Master Hamilton and Schwartz are cool - that's undeniable! A soldier from the future, cute and tough Mackenzie Davis, too. But, sorry, the Mexican Terminator and the pompous "nothing" Dani - purely even visually it's not a role for these people. They do not attract, nor do they attract! Don't believe them! Just one confident being in the frame of Linda Hamilton with a lowered gun - it introduces me into a pleasant trance and high - this role is really for this woman and she looks organic and bright in it, despite her age! As soon as, after half the movie, Arnie appears in the frame - and suddenly everything comes alive and plays with other colors! It even makes sense, if you will! Sorry, Terminator, and without Arnie!! But both of these “neither to the village nor to the place” of the Mexican spoil the impression of both himself and the film. Especially frankly stupid and degenerative character of the main character of the Mexican woman, who looks more like a schoolgirl than a savior of humanity. And her stupid capricious pathos and volitional decisions - in one word "rubbish"...
I really didn’t like how the writers mocked Sarah Connor’s character! The heroine Mackenzie Davis constantly sneezes and humiliates her for no reason. I'm sorry, why this stupidity, filmmakers? And an aging gray-haired robot with a beard? It's like! And the lack of laws of physics in a collapsing plane at altitude and at breakneck speed. Well, the way they played the story with John Connor is both surprising and, in my opinion, not very...
... Summing up, I will say the following: the beautiful return of Sarah Connor is a very spectacular and confident game by Linda Hamilton, Arnie is a living Legend and a whole era, with his participation in half of the film he gave the tape a chic kick forward, there is action, it is interesting to watch, but the cult tape will never become... Why? Read more! .
.. I'm done!

p.s. How technically and visually magnificent was recreated by a computer cult trio in a scene from 1998. You can hardly tell from the real ones!! Great!! . .
I won’t talk about the first two parts of the franchise for a long time because they are good in their own way. The third, fourth and fifth parts were bad, but there were good moments. News of the Terminator: Dark Fate movie was received neutrally, but the release of trailers lowered expectations. And the release of the film did lead to one thought: “This is how we wanted to see the continuation of the “Judgment Day”?! & #39;”. But everything in order. There will be spoilers, so sorry.
A big mistake for the creators was the leak of John Connor as the main character of the previous parts at the very beginning of the film.
And all this is needed to demonstrate the new savior of the future - a Mexican girl. That’s just she is not related to the same kid John Connor from the previous film, because pathetic feminism replaced her logic and common sense. The same can be said about other female characters. The only actor for whom it is a shame is Arnold Schwarzenegger because his character through the fault of inexperienced directing was lowered to the bottom, which was not in previous films. The new post-apocalypse is complete darkness, because it appeared for no reason. Antagonist pursuer in the face of a solid-liquid terminator is a complete suck against the background of the T-800 from the 1st part and the T-1000 from the 2nd part. The graphics and action scene do not correspond to the type of blockbuster sample of 2019, judging by the budget of the picture. And one thing is unclear why the film was needed, yet the alternative ending of “Judgment Day” did not give a hint of continuation. Well, the main disadvantage is the themes of political correctness and social agenda, which have ruined more than one story, such as the Disney trilogy in the Star Wars universe. And in the end, the remake of 'Evil Dead' 2013 didn't give much importance to it because it was trying to be something.
And you know the trouble of the film is not the fault of studio bosses, producers, actors and even screenwriters, namely director Tim Miller. Since after the “accidental” success of “Deadpool” as the first film, he decided to try himself in the other direction and lost.
Conclusion: this is not even a movie, this is garbage created without effort.
In 1984, the first film of the legendary franchise, The Terminator, was released. Unfortunately, the franchise rolled, starting with the third film. The fifth part finally drove her into the coffin. But the rights were reverted to James Cameron, and we were promised the return of Linda Hamilton and finally, a normal continuation of the original dilogy. I had been waiting for this movie for a long time, but when I came to the cinema, I was disappointed. I saw that the film was not directed by Cameron.
Plot: Unfortunately, there is no original story here. Again, a soldier from the future and a terminator, sent back to the past. The soldier must save the future leader, and the Terminator must kill the leader. So I didn't see anything new here. A new version of the Terminator, very uninteresting and not at all intimidating. This mexinator does not even differ from other liquid terminators, it is still the same T-1000.
Characters: There are only Sarah Connor and the T-800 Terminator. But the latter is also a problem, why is it in the past? How did you start a family? Why did you sew? And why is his name Carl? The worst characters are the future leader of the resistance and the new Terminator. The latter, not scary at all and even funny. What prevented them from selecting normal actors is unclear. The fighter from the future Grace, quite an interesting character, but does not go to any with Kyle Reeves.
Action: He's good here. The shootings here are even great, the graphics are sometimes weird, but mostly good. Well, that's understandable, because the film was made for 185 million dollars.
The film turned out to be boring in characters, bad in plot, but good in action and some nostalgic scenes. It was worse than the first three films in the franchise, but slightly better than the fourth and fifth. When I came out of the theater I was delighted, but after a while the enthusiasm fell and watching the film again, I saw all the cons. The film will disappoint fans of the first two parts, but you can get some satisfaction. Sadly, the sixth part did not lift the poor franchise from the coffin.
5 out of 10
After seeing it for the first time, I honestly wanted to bring it to my collection and put it in the canonical sequel to the 1991 film. But over time, I realized that this film is not necessary and does not bring anything new to the story. Another unnecessary sequel
Watched to pay homage to the legendary first two parts. There are many references to the beginning, both visually and musically. Well, the Terminator is not the same.
Eh. The once great universe rolls in its cinematic and formal hypostasis into the abyss of oblivion. Now it is not clear who such a movie can be interesting. And with this feminization faded.
Dynamic action with controversial special effects and lack of charisma of all the main characters. If you do not pay attention to the huge number of techno and plot blunders, as well as the strange visualization of the movements of the characters (so the explosions and shootings looked good), then an ordinary story with mediocre acting and not interesting images of the characters comes out. All the power in the film was given to the savage female hands. The alternative story has now evolved in such a way that the hope of all mankind is a certain Mexican Daniela Ramos. She will be rescued by cyborg Grace and Sarah Connor. Schwartz will show up later. And the main evil sand-liquid terminator in the image of some Latin American with appearance looked and forgot. Ramiros also plays some Natalia Reyes (he also looked and forgot and it is unclear where she was dug up). Grace was portrayed by a good actress Mackenzie Davis, who for some reason decided that she was playing an emotionless robot. Sarah was inspired by Linda Hamilton. It is clear that Hamilton was the main lure, but she probably overdid it and made her makeup was painfully brutal (or it was not makeup). In general, she looks rather weird and repulsive in the film. Well, poor Schwartz was practically the background. My good memory is the T-800. As for the villain REV-9 (played by a certain Gabriel Luna, who are these people?), he looks so secondary and illogical that I do not want to tell you anything. There are no special claims to the actor himself, especially since most of the graphics were instead of him.
In general, it seems that the film was not the last and the creators still mock the legacy of the cult action movie. Tim Miller’s director should be changed. So manage to make the images of the characters so uninteresting it is still necessary to try.
Yes, and the legendary phrase about Biback will not say Schwartz, but Sarah Connor. Amen.
Terminator (which for whom desired, but as it turned out not necessary).
And yet, a unique story turned out with the film Terminator. Dark Fate (2019). The film, which even the most ardent optimists predicted at least a major shortage at the box office, long before the release, for some reason received approval for the shooting, a very good budget and cheerfully shot without getting into any production hell or reshoots. Fate (later dark) decided that the film to be and he successfully got to the big screens. As if fate was protecting this film from force majeure, it was successfully released a few months before the pandemic and nothing could prevent it. The question is, why?
One thing was clear after the Terminator. Genesis (2015) The franchise has passed away. Died so clearly that the news about the shooting of the new film, generally did not affect the audience and fans. No one was waiting for the film, did not discuss, did not worry, everything was purple and this first bell was already beating the bell. When Genesis came out, everyone discussed the trailer, spit from wetness, when Dark Fate came out, there was an information calm. Even then, Hollywood producers could suspect something wrong, but roll back the shooting that began is laborious.
And here is the film without adventure comes out and people go to the movies, few people remain staunch fans and just optimists. And then it seems to come to the forefront ' the main problem ' film feminism. Well, that was the trend last year. True, many accused the film of feminism and were sincerely sure that because of this the film died.
Personally, I don't think so. The film is generally faded as a fish's eye and feminism here is only the last chance to gurgle at this swamp in which the film drowned, if it were not for the agenda films would have collected even less and passed well not noticed.
Let’s move on to the actors.
Mackenzie Davis or Grace, here is the driving force and the main element of the film. Her character is best spelled out in the script and quite well balanced, although somewhat expressive.
Returning Sarah Connor, one of the features of the film, realized medium, tempered by the life of a grandmother, grumpy and moderately hysterical, at the same time boring. The image turned out very much on the amateur.
Dani Ramos, an unknown Colombian, not an expressive serial actress, is one of the biggest problems of the film, and her image in the script is spelled out most sloppy. It is noticeable that she tries to copy the game of Emilia Clarke from Genesis. I can't say anything good about it.
Gabriel Luna or rev.9, what is it? Seriously, is this Legion's most advanced robot? To be honest, watching the movie made me laugh the most. The designers did a good job, the skeleton looked great. But the role and performance of it resembled cheap parodies. This actor did not cause any feelings except laughter.
Arnold Schwarzenegger or the T-800 is in the background here. Interesting is the evolution of the Terminator from a bloodthirsty, dispassionate machine in the Terminator (1984), to a warrior-protector in the Terminator 2 Judgment Day (1991), to aggressive cattle in the Terminator 3 Rise of the Machines (2003), to ' down' in the Terminator. Genesis (2015) and to a good summer resident-pensioner in the subge. The moment where the T-800 takes a bagpipe looks so unnatural that it would be much more harmonious to take a newspaper and slippers.
I adore Arnie and waited for the film only because of him, but I regret to state that he is superfluous in the film and if before the visit to the notorious Karl, the film still somehow formed into the overall picture, then after him he just fell apart. Although in the final, the most expensive and spectacular action, it looks somehow clunky and synthetic.
It was a sad movie and a sad afterword.

I don't know why. I just don’t want to drown, but this film is not good either.
The franchise was dead after Genesis. Why does this movie exist, another unsolved mystery, but when there is some absurdity, is life more interesting?
Critics and audiences have repeatedly said that none of the directors have achieved the same level as James Cameron in the original Terminator dilogy. Nevertheless, I liked some of the details that were used in The Rise of the Machines and other parts that continued the story of Judgment Day. Not everything was decent, but at least new models of robots and other moments like chases and shootouts were performed at a height. When James Cameron regained the rights to Terminator, I expected the franchise to make a triumphant comeback. But the opposite happened. The new part of the “Terminator” may be her funeral slab.
Everything begins to worsen after a frankly murderous introduction, after which we are introduced to the main character of “Dark Fates”. She was an unremarkable, short and far from charismatic girl named Danny Ramos. She lives in a poor area, never distinguished by special physical training, but it is she who must be killed again by a robot from the future. The terminator of the new model can do something we have not seen before, but this time it is not at all exciting.
To save Dani from doom, she is followed by fearless fighter Grace and Sarah Connor, who has learned to wield weapons deftly. Sarah is not the girl we saw in the second and even more so the first film. It has become much harsher and tougher. Now the entire honest trinity must escape from the killer robot that overtakes them, along the way revealing for us what happened after the Judgment Day.
This film is not just a parasite on dilogy, but a slurred and poor story that destroyed the bright past of the franchise, depriving it of a possible future. I can't understand why Cameron put his hand in writing the script and blessed it. He personally dealt with his myth and in an interview stated that all is well, so it should be. Honestly, it would have been better if he had left his Avatar for a couple of months and worked out the plot of Dark Fates. Although there is a feeling that nothing good would have happened anyway.
The only character who was really interesting was Sarah Connor. Linda Hamilton perfectly prepared for the role, losing weight and puffing up. I also liked her strong confidence, as well as her harsh phrases. But everyone else, including Arnold Schwarzenegger, who is completely unnecessary here, was disappointed. Especially pity Schwarzenegger, who had to play a comedy instead of showing the cool temper of his character.
James Cameron and Tim Miller failed to resurrect the franchise. Nothing in this film is new, and frankly disrespectful attitude to the past of the franchise finishes what at least somehow could work. It's a pity that this is probably the final.
Finally! Years after the release of the epic #39 Terminator 2', dedicated fans (who have lost their teeth, honor and pieces of mind) see the story continue. You can safely discard crafts under the numbers 3,4,5 and start viewing immediately from this part. Moreover, all the main actors are in place, and some characters have not even changed after a while. The first scene of the film is shocking! It seems that many years ago this episode was filmed, but rejected then. So convincing 'Sarah' I can't believe it's another actress. Very reliable. It is clear that the first episode is a knife in the heart of fans of Furlong-Connor, but if you think about it, there can be no other way in this story. Hamilton played the Greek tragedy in the second film so much that such a finale in the third film is quite predictable. But the main thing that returned to the film is fear, a sense of growing horror, fear for the future. What happened in the first two films. With Cameron back in the franchise, it's all back! Really scary. The main antagonist is terrible, even from the name of the actor of frost on the skin, he was so impressed. Very close to the liquid terminator from the second part, even surpasses in terms of terror.
That's what we dreamed of - Hamilton is Sarah Conor again. Cool, motherly, mad, burned, with a kind of black humor. A true veteran of the fight for the future. She can't be any different. There are a lot of female characters on the screen. In this part, the ball is ruled by the ladies, but against the background of the super soldier Sarah, they all look a little faded. Reyes, it seems, still feels like a telenovela set and plays at the level of Latin soap (see any Talia craft, the game is similar). Davis is wooden, what else can I say? No emotions. That's her role.
I really liked the role of Carl’s wife. It was very dramatic and at a high level. In a short episode, convey the whole range of feelings, play with your eyes! Best Actress in a Film, After Hamilton!
If I do, I will give old man Schwartz and there is nothing to do in the film. Except for the cross, which he eventually did. His character got tired in the sequels and should have been surprised. Surprising. The world has lost a great comedian! So to laugh at yourself, to play a farce with such a serious face is expensive.
The script wasn't particularly memorable. All the same evil and good Terminators, the same Mother Hope of humanity, the new Skynet. If you think about it, the future is irreversible. It is worth doing something to change it, but something else will follow, modified. This is the main idea of the film, its idea, and a film without the idea of a broken penny is not worth it. Although a similar main idea was in ' Destination' and 'The Butterfly Effect'. The film bets on the main actors, idea and atmosphere, the script only frames the overall canvas of the film. So, the script is not very necessary.
Why is this part considered a failure? Critics praised the film. They both noted the idea and the atmosphere. Why did the audience say no? It is possible that the modern generation, who eat chips and popcorn in sessions, deeply cares about who Sarah Conor is, who Hamilton and Cameron are. And old Arnie, they've seen enough of the bad sequels. The film is aimed at fans, but did they stay? Yeah, we did. And they do. They are happy to meet their heroes again. But there are few fans left. Modern viewers were not attracted to the cinema. Nothing to lure. Looking at pensioners with vending machines? It's a questionable pleasure.

Cons for script and acting by Davis and Reyes. It is a pity that there will be no continuation of the film. I think they would have played out there.
That moment when embarrassing for beating a recumbent terminator
Director J.J. Abrams is at the helm of the Star Wars reboot. Disney chose five-year-olds as its audience. Their strength and ability not only to spend on tickets to the movies, but to carry the blood issued to parents on a variety of merch with the characters' emblems. But all the same it is a whole universe, and children love everything bright - then money flows in a stream. What does the Terminator have to do with it?
The same thing happens with the story of a murderous machine from the future, as well as the rescue of the leader of the uprising of people against machines. Only the universe on the Terminator is very limited, there are no blasters, flights on spaceships and the destruction of entire star systems. In the Terminator, the entire scale rests on the destruction of a couple of dozen cars and several houses. The new part follows a proven Star Wars path - pure action and almost complete absence of a high-quality logical plot.
Based 'Terminator: Dark Fate' exactly copies the best moves from the first two parts. Just jumping from place to quarry. From the first scene, we get into action, in which we will be in the final scenes. Unfortunately, apart from the action and some jokes from previous films, the writers did not take the story about the characters. We do not reveal the history and life of the heroes and how they lived before the unexpected invasion and assassination attempt on them. Why should I worry that Daniela Ramos will be allowed on confetti when I don’t know anything about her except that she’s going to make a difference? Acquaintance with other characters takes place in passing already in the deep middle of the film, when there is absolutely no need for this.
The film is completely devoid of any realism in the way and manner of presentation. There are in the first and second films everything was built on a killer car, the meeting with which was a mortal danger - a real thriller, then dashing rinks with shooting and action in ' Dark Fate' reminiscent of the fights in Mortal Kombat. Three minutes of pure-blooded muzzle, five minutes to heal the wounds and a classic muzzle again. Fighting scenes do not convey the feeling that heavy cars are fighting, not people in plastic armor. In addition, computer graphics are so striking that you do not believe a single frame that shouts about danger.
There are no surprising questions for actors. The favorites from the second Terminator feel great and Linda Hamilton forms a strong pillar in the frame around which a young actor dances. Gabriel Luna - if the film were a drama, it could make a beautiful new terminator antagonist. The only one is not clear what Natalia Reyes is doing in the frame and which of her ' John Conor' for future stories, but it is visible all in favor of the fact that the action takes place in Mexico.
If, thanks to a very extensive universe, Star Wars can produce a frankly passing movie, but thanks to good special effects and even a rather superficial and different story to move on, then the sixth part of the Terminator has neither a five-year audience, nor the above.

I've seen all the Terminator movies. And yes. Some incarnations were clearly better than others (to me), some are unshakable classics. But this shit, this movie, it's far from the truth. Obviously, the entire creative team studied at Michael Bay Film School ... and did not pass. The movie begins with an outrageous murder. That's all you need to know. Everything Sarah Connor and Kyle Reese went through the T1 was for nothing. All that John, Sarah and Uncle Bob went through T2 was for nothing. Why the hell is every sequel to this franchise trying to destroy its legacy? Disney, stop interfering with the filming process.
It turns out that Skynet actually sent back several Terminators to kill John, a move that not only contradicts all of T2’s internal logic, but carries a monstrous weight. Irreversibly defiled the emotional weight of the heartbreaking scene of Uncle Bob's death. In case anyone forgot, the only cause of his death at T2 was that his CPU was the last processor that could lead to Skynet, and he willingly accepted his fate to prevent it from happening. And, yes, the Terminator who committed the murder is the same Terminator that Arnold plays - only this time he left, started a family and settled down (what movie am I watching?). And we somehow have to take care of the guy who essentially killed the legacy of two great movies.
And then there is the blonde “thing” that defies categorization, both by gender and by human characteristics. I'm really ARVING from the current trend, forgive me for this slang, but it is and I will not stop. It turns out that women must be masculine to do great things, although time has shown from the beginning that they can be feminine and achieve much more. And the main antagonist is some Mexican guy who suffers from such a lack of presence and threat that Robert Patrick could erase his gaze. Look at you, Carl! By preventing another Apocalypse, they make the entire premise of the franchise obsolete, as there is always another Apocalypse. John was a leader because his mother coached him from his youth, the girl is a leader because Hillary lost the election.
In a normal world, we have witnessed an actual and irretrievable crash. I wish I was a fly on the wall when the production team got together to read this script. The Terminator franchise has always been divided into the Cameron era (actually, a creator who earned legendary status for his brainchild) and the post-Cameron era. I don't even know now.
If you've necessarily watched Dark Fate, you're probably like me, possessed by a vaguely suspicious sense that you need to keep up with the cultural zeitgeist... for some strange reason.
Once there was a future in which people were hunted.
No one, I think, will not argue that 'Terminator' - a classic of a fantastic action movie, forever recorded its name in the annals of cinematic history. The dark and brutal first part of 1984, the grand and magnificent second, dated to 1991. After them, the ideological inspirer ' Terminator' James Cameron stated that in this story he said everything he wanted and the franchise closes on the second part. But then for 'Terminator' there came troubled times. In 2003, the not-so-needed triquel is released, in 2009, not quite a reasonable spin-off, and the most bitter disappointment (as it was thought then) was the fifth film shot in 2015. The last three films did not expand the army of fans, but rather, on the contrary, discouraged fans. But by 2019, one piece of news allowed everyone to look back at the franchise. . .
And this news touched James Cameron himself, after it was announced that the film father ' 'Terminator' is returning to the franchise! Not as a director, but as a writer and producer. This was not embarrassing, because the mere mention of Cameron, one of the most commercially successful directors in the history of cinema, made the sixth film an intriguing event of the year. And when they told that the forgotten Linda Hamilton returns to 'Terminator' from anticipation of something special, many already rubbed their hands. For fans and new viewers clearly prepared something cool, something ready to encroach on the laurels of the first two parts ' Terminator'. In addition, Arnold Schwarzenegger returned to the film, which made him famous throughout the world and one of the most popular actors in the 90s of the last century. The company they were Natalia Reyes, Mackenzie Davis and Gabrielle Luna, but all this was not so interested when Cameron, Schwarzenegger and Hamilton were again in the same team.
But something happened that everyone feared, but cherished hopes that it would not happen, because the very name of James Cameron led to awe. Hopes were not fulfilled: 'Terminator: Dark fates' with a loud bang failed, becoming the worst part in the entire franchise! ' What was it?' - asked many of this question, and it was what we all see with you recently: almost any mainstream film that showed a good box office, immediately receives publicity about the creation of a sequel, and if there is a lack of such tapes, then from the semi-forgetting break out long-praised franchises that have become part of film art, and at the expense of them, due to powerful PR, the selection of good and beloved by many actors, get solid money from the studio. And it is the financial component that is now the primary basis, and spectator preferences, wishes and even requirements are sent to the urn as real garbage. In short, Cameron with his return did the same thing that Ridley Scott did with his "Alien" & #39 - with his own hands drowned the franchise that made him a world star. As you know, money doesn’t smell.
There are only a few things I can say about #39. . . Dark fates, which lie on the surface and therefore primarily cause either bewilderment or an attack of anger (after all, we expected something special!). First, the characters in the picture. You can forget about the main fighter against the rebellious machines John Connor (although we all knew about this), he was replaced by a certain Dani Ramos performed by Natalia Reyes. The actress is little known to the general public, but ' . . Dark fates & #39; could become a trip to the big movie for her. But the fragile girl looked little like a champion of human rights to exist. Even her gradual transformation from an ordinary teenager into a brave warrior with a share of self-sacrifice looked template, and the persuasiveness in the image was the minimum. It is clear that Natalia Reyes did not pull such a difficult task to become almost a replacement for John Connor. Perhaps he will remain in our memory as a boy played by Edward Furlong. This one. Two is Mackenzie Davis. As a bodyguard she looked catchy, even the idea of mechanical implants that made her much stronger and more dangerous, was not bad, but each time there was a feeling that we had the heroine Emily Blunt from ' Edges of the Future' (2014), so you can even mention some plagiarism.
And now, in comparison of the actors, you can also touch the plot move, which also turned out to be frankly weak. It’s time for Linda Hamilton to be held hostage to one role, Sarah Connor. From a good-natured and amorous waitress from the first 'Terminator' she turned into a tough, brave, militant personality in the sequel. You can call it the perfect expression of the term 'masculinity' on screen when few people have heard of it at all. A faithful companion in this Hamilton became Sigourney Weaver, who played in the already mentioned 'Alien'. But after almost thirty years, nothing has changed in the character of Sarah Connor, in the script her heroine is a solid copier from the sequel, except that she has changed externally. Well, a little bit, the crumb of caustic humor was prescribed to her (it is possible that the director tried a bit here & #39;). . . Dark Fate' Tim Miller, who previously worked on 'Deadpool' (2016) And about the T-800 from Arnold Schwarzenegger generally do not really want to talk, because no one expected such an idiotic image from a cyborg killer. A family man sewing curtains, what was that? For such a perversion of cyborgs should be fined as an insult to the individual. And Gabriel Luna remained in the form of the main antagonist. Compared to Robert Patrick of Judgment Day 39, the Moon is a baby in diapers who sometimes tries to show himself as a very scary fighting unit.
In general, where do not touch ' . . Dark fates & #39; everywhere you will find yourself in the unfinished or poorly soldered nuances of filmmaking. Outdated images, patterns, lack of development, tracing of the previous parts and frankly distorted to caricature the once beloved heroes. Newcomers are more likely to even impoverish the so meager dramatic background with their weak-willed play, where they are so trying to make themselves cool warriors. And Arnold Schwarzenegger is both insulting and embarrassing. Probably 'Terminator: Dark Fate' - the loudest failure of the year.

P.S.: I hope Cameron doesn’t want to work on the sequel to Titanic 39 (1997) or after 39. . . Dark fates' gets scared for the new ' Avatar', the only film that can break the box office records of the studio tapes ' Marvel'.
Something sterile-medium, like the third part. Started cheerfully, the starting scene, connecting with the second part - really strong, shot well. But then the movie starts to stall. There is no tension, oppressive expectations and a sense of threat. That is, everything that worked on the atmosphere in the first two parts (and in the third too). In the story: well, well, well, you tried, star for effort. But it's all self-repeat anyway. And, most importantly, ideologically, all this is outdated and looks stupid in 2020. Axon is good, quite inventive, with a good graphon (it was finished compared to what was in the trailers), definitely plus the film. Acting is tolerable. The main character at first does not inspire, then somehow get used to it. Hamilton is good, tries, Sarah Connor gives quality. Mackenzie Davis cosplays Kyle Reese with upgrades, generally turns out. Gabriel Luna cosplays T-1000 and T-X at the same time, a bad thing is not cunning, copes with it. Schwartz has completely forgotten how to play, but he is more humorous than in Genesis, and thank you for that. As a result, a well-made action movie that could not be removed. You don't have to look.
Let’s face it, this movie isn’t as bad as they like to say. His main sin is another kicking of the corpse of the great franchise and excessive pontiffs, based on the fact that two central actors of the first film were dragged into the tape and on this basis hinted that they would turn out much cooler than those past unfortunate crafts. They stick around in the tape a little ridiculous and confirm the rule that stop raping the unfortunate corpse. To God, they would make pure spinoffs like in Salveishen, rather than trying to cling to the original masterpiece plot and each time show new depths of the scenario bottom. Nevertheless, if objectively - dark fate, although pretty spoiled by forced fems, but still represents a spectacular fantastic action movie, an expensive tape with a bunch of spectacular fights, chases and other things. If you do not expect revelations from the feminator in terms of the plot - a good movie to pass the evening. More interesting than many others.
I think there is not a single devoted moviegoer who would not be familiar with the film 'Terminator'. Filmed even then by little-known James Cameron in the distant 1984, the picture instantly became a classic of the fantastic genre and only strengthened the success even more magnificent 'Judgment Day'. After that, the franchise changed hands and showed dubious attempts to shoot not just a worthy sequel, but just good films. It would seem that after so many years, Cameron regained his rights, acted as a producer and one of the directors of the film and it promised hope for a worthy continuation. Turns out it's impossible.
The plot of this film revolves around the ordinary Mexican Daniela Ramos, whose life is turned upside down when the Terminator begins to hunt for her. At the same time, a modified man with terminator powers Grace arrives from the future, tasked with protecting Daniels. Soon, Sarah Connor herself comes to their aid, who managed to become a real Terminator hunter.
Similar to the previous 'Genesis', one of the main controversial elements of this tape is the script, from which all the troubles of this tape follow. It is worth admitting that Cameron created two monumental works in which he said everything possible about the universe he created. Hence, it is not surprising that in all subsequent sequels (except Salvation) there is a tendency of self-replication and this film was no exception. A chosen one again, destined to lead humanity against machines in the future. Another man sent to protect him. Another Terminator tasked with killing him. Not to mention the fact that before us is another variation of the Terminator from 'liquid metal'. Nothing really new. Most of the heroes are women. Which was clearly done to please the now raging feminist community. Only this and explaining why even with Cameron as one of the screenwriters, the authors of this film failed to create such strong images of Grace and Dani as Cameron did with Sarah Connor and why they turned the once monumental image of Sarah Connor into a rather cardboard image of an evil old woman.
All of the above only demonstrates that the authors of the tape did not bother themselves for a long time and simply repeated the content of all previous parts and cosmetic changes made to the borrowed material stand out for their frank superficiality and cardboardness. Especially clearly reflecting this on the example of the replaced Skynet Legion, which the authors of this tape not only did not disclose, but also did not explain its fundamental differences from Skynet. It begs the question, why bring something new if you don’t even try to bring it to the screen properly? All the above and contributes to the fact that watching the tape in terms of the script is not interesting and many plot twists are easily foreseen. Except for a really strong and unexpected introduction featuring John Connor, which produces the necessary and planned shock effect with the words WTF. But at the same time, destroys the whole concept of the indispensability of the Chosen One and at the same time all the dramatic power of the first two films, which continue this film, ignoring all subsequent parts.
The director of this film Tim Miller also made a very mixed impression on me. It would seem that the person who put such a creative 'Deadpool' and still has a remarkable experience in the field of visual effects and animation should pleasantly surprise. However, this is not felt in this tape at all. In terms of atmosphere and narrative, the film turned out to be very faded and not expressive. It would seem that there is action, suspense, dress and the like, but all this was so sterile that it does not cause any emotions. Just like the promised R rating, which is justified only by the abundance of fu*k utterances, not the promised cruel violence and blood. In terms of action and visual effects, the film has evolved into a typical pop-corn attraction in which action is created for the sake of action. Only this and explain the extremely unoriginal approach to action and these very action scenes that seem too fantastic even for the genre of fiction. For the most part, spoiling the impression by how weak, raw and almost cartoonish the visuals turned out. Which is strange considering the fact that masters from ILM, Weta Digital, Blur and Digital Domain worked on them.
Performer of one of the main roles Mackenzie Davis played really good and her game does not cause any complaints. Not bad and Natalia Reyes, who really tries. But how poorly spelled her character kills half the expressiveness of her play. The same can be said about the unexpectedly returned to the franchise from retirement Linda Hamilton. She plays well and tries. But her Sarah Connor managed to turn from a really strong body and spirit of a woman from the first two parts into an angry old woman who is no longer fit for the party of a war woman. Watching it even becomes a little uncomfortable. Arnold Schwarzenegger as always great, was able to present his character differently and really play well. Delivering pleasant emotions with each appearance on the screen. Even though it is small in the picture and appears only in the second half of the narrative.
As for the new villain-terminator, Gabriel Luna is definitely the weakest link in the cast. First, despite the training in the simulator under the guidance of Schwarzenegger, the Moon remained the same frail kid and it hits the convincingness of his image. Second, Luna seems undecided on how to play his character while working on the film. In some scenes, he plays the necessary image of an unemotional stone, and in others - includes a narcissistic and smiling macho. Which also spoils the perception of his character. Killing the initially interesting Terminator concept-'two in one'.

Terminator: Dark Fate is a frankly weak continuation of the cult franchise, which gives another alarming signal that it’s time to really leave the franchise alone. The return of James Cameron as one of the writers and producers of the tape did not help. The painting turned out very gray and sterile. Starting with the atmosphere and ending with action scenes with frankly cartoonish visuals that cause no emotions. When the story itself copies a lot of the first two parts, and in attempts to bring something new does not try to give a chance to open up and even manages to guess & #39; the first two films.
A good film should not be driven by new trends. It looks clumsy, inept, played and completely untrue. This is the sin of some films with black people who are crammed into the most inappropriate images for them, only to please a black society. Now all-female casts have started riveting their versions of cult films (ghost hunters, for example), putting women at the head of different teams ... and all this is not because they really deserved it or so happened by themselves, but because so it is necessary. We have to please. The Terminator, too, is fine. And I am not at all against strong women, especially since Terminator 1 and 2 talk about them. Just in the new part of the talentless dialogue. Flame speeches are not catchy, they feel false.
There is one very positive thing – the main enemy. Finally, we see in the film that the main villain does not have cute conversations when he can just kill the heroes; he does not take a calm step towards the heroes when he could take them in two jumps and cut them off. In this film, the behavior of the villain is really logical. When he sees a goal, he strives for it with all his might, not paying attention to the people around him. He does everything to destroy the target and for that thank you very much.
In the rest, this is the most ordinary action movie, smooth, without much emotion. We're tired of terminators. It is time to recognize that the past cannot be returned and will stop. We have two iconic first installments that everyone enjoys watching now and will watch in the future. The day of judgment has not come, and no matter how hard you try, it will not come.

': Do you really think you're safe? You're already dead!'
There is a very controversial attitude to this film. In fact, I went to its premiere without any expectations, just nostalgic for old James Cameron films, and it was curious to see what will happen to the beloved characters and their further story.
After watching this film to the end, there was a mixed porridge in my head. Sequels ruin the cinema and stuff the viewer with something very dubious and sucked out of the finger, despite the huge budget. Can this expensive blockbuster be compared to the very first two Terminator movies? Of course not. Cameron's films are masterpieces, and this is something new as a small addition to them. Well, if we consider this movie as a separate substance, then this is something incomprehensible and slippery.
The fourth and especially the fifth Terminator movie is terrible. They're empty and killing the franchise. I personally don't like them. For this sixth film 'Terminator: Dark Fate' there were thoughts that something curious might have turned out. Directed 'Deadpool' Tim Miller, actors favorite of the first two parts in the person of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton. But the movie doesn’t have to have an effect.
The plot is set in Mexico, where a young girl wants to be killed by a cold car sent from the future - the unkillable terminator REV-9. Trying to save the Mexican also sent from the future Grace (whether a person or a machine – no one understands). The Mexican girl will play a key role in the future war of machines and people, and the cold iron decides to destroy her. Grace and the girl are racing from REV-9, and Sarah Connor comes to their rescue. . .
With the available weapons, the odds are 12 percent.
- Hmm. Well, at least not lying.
Commercially, the film is considered a failure and a failure. It was a stunning blow and the movie didn't pay off. Why didn’t the audience take the sixth movie? Perhaps all hopes have already killed the fifth & #39; Genesis & #39; which showed us real confusion and falsehood. And even Arnie along with the star 'Game of Thrones' Emilia Clarke did not save the movie from failure.
Audiences who watched the latest film in the franchise were still upset. If the fifth film I have a negative attitude, but to this sixth picture on the ball above and neutral between 'da' and 'net';. Let me explain why the position is indifferent.
With this plot, the film never got to the original, but the chances were to try something, because the actors were loved, and the characters here are interesting. The character of Grace and the choice of actress Mackenzie Davis, in my opinion, was successful. She was like a breath of fresh air after the dead film Genesis.
Arnie and Linda's duet came alive again after so many years. Of course, nostalgia did its job, and their heroes were curious to look at. But one phrase of Terminator Arnie about wallpaper and diapers just killed. It was so stupid and funny that it erases all the coolness of previous old films. The writers have failed here.
Mexican savior and a new creepy Terminator played by Natalia Reyes and Gabriel Luna. Perhaps this film would have attracted more attention if these roles were played by better-known actors.
Of course, the adventure action movie is ambitious and risky - we tried it, learned something in between. A question is brewing. Do we even need these extensions? Why them? Feel nostalgic for old respected science fiction movies? It is better not to remove, and all these big-budget blockbusters are one-time and as if without a soul.
I repeat that the sixth part I still treat neutral, it can be seen by all fans of the cult franchise, but the feeling of dissatisfaction and desire for something more remains after seeing. As if the actors themselves are tired of these roles.
I am convinced that until Cameron himself decides to make a seventh film, the world does not need him. But will the famous director go to this, because while he has a loud and outstanding project ' Avatar sequel', which we are all waiting for?
If you love the Terminator Cinematic Universe, you can plunge into this apocalyptic movie, but don’t expect anything out of the ordinary. Although, the trailer was so tempting, as always.
'Terminator: Dark Fate' is an American, sci-fi action movie of 2019. The result is a controversial, soaked movie, on which the viewer is not led. For so many years, they have been muzzling the same thing, and the result is still controversial and incomprehensible.
Are you still waiting for the series to come back? Forget it. Forever.
Judging by the boring trailer with the irresistible Linda Hamilton, it was clear what kind of film it would be.
I long ago ceased to perceive all these endless continuations-rethinkings, that I did not torment myself with hopes for ' revival', and was stoically set for the worst.
In one day, I watched both 'Genesis' and 'Dark Fate'. At the end of the day, before going to bed, there was a feeling that I had lost several times my mindless, soulless likenesses of uninteresting blockbusters.
But I still don't understand people who like it more ' Genesis'. Parasitization is monstrous in both films, of course, but here in contrast to ' Genesis' scenes, damn it, are not played frame-by-frame and there is no villain Skynet in the form of a hologram of Siri male! What are you talking about? ' Dark Fate' at least trying to pretend that masks plagiarism (glasses, jeep, remote on the hydraulic press and the like) in ' references' and ' warm' fanservice. However, once again, as in 'Genesis', this film clearly demonstrates how much they have swallowed the story of the Terminator, that they CANNOT INvent anything new! The sodium from the previous parts this time has a more beautiful color, but the taste is still so grim.
Although the film is an order of magnitude better than the vile 'Genesis', but it is just as empty and soulless, just looks like a high-budget fan fiction. I already have a headache from the constant terminators coming from the future. Really? What’s the point in the first two, what’s the point in all parts of the franchise, if the new one can always send a new Terminator that will change everything!!! Such scenario moves can change any action from the past, and then change the changed and so on! You got the idea.
The film is oversaturated with exxon for every square centimeter of the frame. This is not a Terminator movie, this is a banal and uninteresting blockbuster, which has a pretty nice picture and he looks at least remotely for his money, and not TS Genesis for $ 155 million with a bad chromac and where you see pixels during explosions or on models of robots. But for its huge money even 'Terminator 3' looks much more natural than 'Dark Fate' and 'Genesis' combined.
However, if you throw out the film in principle a good graphic component, then ' Dark Fate' will look like a VHS episode of a Mexican series about hunting a young girl.
The script is weak, absurd and illogical a little ' more thoughtful' than in the last film, but sometimes here is full of absolute absurdity.
Stupid cinema, thoughtless, a thousand times shown and altered the same story and the next endless terminators from the future, which change the actions of predecessors, multiplying their significance by zero.
With actors everything is much better than in 'Genesis':
Linda Hamilton plays well, although her frequent smiles and pathos do not cause any respect.
Arnold plays Arnold and another dumb version of the T-800. There's no need to focus on him. It’s time for you to admit that he should not be ashamed and it was time to abandon to star in this after the 3rd part, or better yet after the second.
Gabriel Luna does a good job, but DEEPLY, this is a copy of Robert Patrick’s style and then, not even an average try. His character does not cause any emotions, however, like everyone else, what I mean!
I do not approve of the wave of hat to Mackenzie Davis. The actress showed a good and decent game. Yes, the character can be template, uninteresting, etc., but the actress is PLAYING, not crooked like some.
Speaking of some: Natalia Reyes worthy replacement Jaya Kourtney-Nevsky! How can they find such a caste? Wooden and replaying - disgusting actor ' game'.
Music: I'm tired of hearing rearrangements of the title theme of the first part, just tired.
Feminator? Perhaps here is the theme of feminism in favor of modern trends, but believe me, there are films where it whips out of every frame, here everything is quite passive.
About the fact that the role of antagonist and one of the main characters took actors with a Latin American appearance, there was a lot of indignation. I don't approve of that. If I have any complaints about Natalia Reyes, it's because of her flat play, not because she's Colombian. Why is everyone so angry? It is necessary to judge objectively and not on the basis of stupid racial prejudices. It should be a shame.
Time to evaluate
After 'Genesis' I'm willing to give any movie a 2-point point in absentia if it's not Jai Courtney. 2 points available.
This film shoot better'Genesis', the actors in this film play better than in 'Genesis', the film at least tries to look for their own money, and the scenes, although stolen from the past parts, but are not reproduced by daylight. Another 1 point.
Result: I'm pretty sure that this is the last Terminator that still managed to surprise: it is more visible than the bottom called ' Genesis' If this was the first Terminator movie, it could have been a 5 or even a 6 as a typical blockbuster, but it’s another thumb-sucking sequel that can’t be given such high marks.
I feel that the film objectively pulls to 4, but after re-reading and rethinking what was written above and watched yesterday, I understand that 3 is the maximum. With all this, the creators do not respect us at all , we are nobody for them and stupid consumers of boring slops. packed in a beautiful bottle and signed with a loud name ' Cameron'.
I am now convinced that 'Terminator 3' and 'Salvation' are definitely good mid-range movies, and that Part 4 was still the best attempt since the original dilogy.
3 out of 10
P.S. It is a pity that they did not show the wall being built between Mexico and the United States, but there were prerequisites.
After 27 years, he returned from the past to save the future of a legendary franchise. And this, of course, is about James Cameron, who regained the rights to the franchise 'Terminator' and is tired of watching what has been happening to it since 2003. The Avatar Lord and Genesis Zero promised everyone the continuation we deserved... again. And, to save the franchise or its final liquidation (must be emphasized), such artists as the director 'Deadpool' were involved; Tim Miller, the entire staff of prominent and not-so-screenwriters and the entire original cast, including Edward Furlong, who was dumped.
The plot of the picture unfolds in Mexico and introduces the viewer to Daniela Ramos, an ordinary factory worker, attacked by the Terminator of the new Rev9 series. To help the girl comes a sent from the future to protect Grace - a modified cybernetic soldier and Sarah Connor.
Promising the audience a real sequel, the creators tried to satisfy all representatives of the liberal establishment: and Trump Republicans rubbed their noses with the Mexican flag and neo-pseudo-feminists pleased, placing strong women at the forefront. But, as it turned out, they were engaged in purely self-satisfaction, flooding with nightingales at various interviews about their brilliant plans to cross out all the shameful continuations of the franchise. In fact, the creators presented the viewer with a slightly supplemented mix of the original dilogy with a huge number of detailed borrowings from those unworthy sequels. And if this free retelling of the already familiar story is still tolerable in the first half of the picture thanks to the downhill action, then from the middle ' Dark Fate' evoke many questions and facepalms at the same time. What seems more fantastic now: the plot itself about a robot-killer sent from the future or the fact that this robot-killer can become an exemplary family man named Karl. Family man, Carl!!! And so perfect that his wife for many years did not even recognize that he lives with a two-legged blender. And intimacy with her husband, apparently, she did not want, otherwise she would have been waiting for a chrome surprise. Isn't that fantastic, dear friends? However, not only with logic and scripting, this rolling fiasco had problems: surprisingly in our progressive 21st century, CGI has replaced hard work on effects so much that creators can afford absolutely unrealistic plasticine graphics, looking worse than in the average modern shooter. As a result, the title of the next part is the best fit for the future of the entire franchise, the fate of which is now very dark. Although, of course, in a couple of years he is back again, but who will buy into new promises is a rhetorical question.
Pros: Nostalgia, action.
Cons: Hacky plot, script, special effects and constant impenetrable marketing lies.
The most recent phenomenon of the robot-terminator on the screen was crowned with a deafening failure. The poor lad turned into a fantasy masturbator, began to divide into factions and participate in stories more like a mental cast of collective panic in a madhouse than a plot suitable for cinema.
If you do not want to scold the wonderful master James Cameron and call him a slut, then do not call him names. He was not an accomplice in this film, but a co-producer.
The story, which in this film did not happen, but shook, it is impossible to tell, because without any clear reason, everyone who is not lazy here mingles, and in the most inappropriate, but exciting moments.
Actually, fire here is no less than in terminator variations is supposed, run around at times back and forth, like burnt, which is also quite traditional, and that there is no logic, so let’s consider this the cost of intervention during the time of two different forces: And AI.
I mean, artificial intelligence (AI), who wanted to do without people, and people who decided to do without intelligence (I), because the prosthetic has become or will become hostile, and their own, so as not to run into trouble with machines, people, as usual, did not have enough time or reborn did not happen. . .
