I look at all the actors in this film and I see the truly legendary, great fighters of their time, the idols of their time. Each of them has behind them really many famous, spectacular, impressive fighters, such as:
"Mechanic, Carrier, Parker, Defender" Jason Statham
Destroyer, Blade, Art of War by Wesley Snipes
"Universal Soldier, Disassembly in Little Tokyo, Punisher" Dolph Lundgren
And as for Arnie and Stallone or Predator and Rambo, they were generally cool guys, unsurpassed masters of their craft. How many children imagined themselves in their place and imitated their idols, just can not count. But this picture, this part, unlike the previous two, I can not attribute to the list of great fighters any of the actors, well, except for four young, still “green” in this genre actors.
Now for the movie:
- First of all. If the first part and the second I gave a rating of 7 out of 10 for what it was new to see so many Hollywood actors of the genre “Action” or “Fighter”. And well-chosen actors for their roles, and in the second was generally happy to see such actors as “Jean-Claude Van Damme” and “Chuck Norris”. That in this picture, the third part, did not please neither the cast, nor their play, nor their distribution of roles, who plays whom. Let’s say that I think that Mel Gibson and Harrison Ford were taken in vain, because Gibson I don’t think is a really good actor of this genre, although he has some really good action films, but I can’t call him the Expendable, fierce and cool that he was presented in the film. And as for "Ford" so his element is "Star Wars" in the role of "Han Solo" and the archaeologist "Indian Jones", but not as "Expendable".
- Second. For a film of this scale and such actors, the last scenes with flying in helicopters and such lousy, otherwise I can not call graphics. This is simply not forgivable, the failure is complete.
- And third. I’m tired of the same scenario where the scenery and the lineup change, nothing else. They all kill, witty jokes, there is a cool guy who was advertised as just an unreal killer, but Stallone quickly deals with him and, as always, under the big bang, with a hint that after him no one could survive, he survives and a happy ending in a bar for a drink.
So what can I say? Just one thing, no more squeeze all the juices from this fruit, enough.

The tactic of the Expendables has always been brutally simple: it’s a bomb aimed at 80s video rental; and we watch clichés burst into rattles. Without roasted blood and inventive swearing, it’s all like a safety veil movie – everything explodes, no one dies, and there’s a haunted feeling that you typed Team A by mistake.
In fact, this is not so much a tribute as an irreconcilable battle, mocking the Marvel model. Beginners, surrogate dad Stallone, a few special effects, this is the film itself and ready.
The only way this part differs from the rest - they found a worthy opponent to the team Stallone. Mal Gibbson perfectly fit into the story. The hero, who came out of the rogue, with his malicious charisma, put the film into reality.
In general, the essence of the film - armed from head to toe men, a lot of action and all. Watching the movie because of Mel's badass.
Expendables 3 is quite a good action movie, not as good as Parts 1 and 2, but quite interesting. Before the release, I thought that it would be absolutely nothing, especially when I learned that the younger generation will be present in the film (this, in fact, upset me the most in the film), although there are no complaints about the actors of the “young man” and their play.
Of the 4 stars of the first tier, absolutely everyone liked it, but, unfortunately, the character of Wesley Snipes by the middle of the film was no longer noticeable at all. It's very sad that Bruce Willis wasn't here, but Harrison Ford did no worse. Mel Gibson is a great villain to me, so much more successful than Van Damme. And of course, Antonio Banderas – “Mr. humor” in this film, did not expect this from him, for me better than all the “recruits” of this film.
The film has a lot of action and special effects, which could not but please. “The Expendables” always succeed.
In general, the film is inferior to its predecessors, but very little.

For many action stars of the 80s-90s, the trilogy of the unstoppable is like a breath of fresh air. The opportunity to remember youth, shake the old... It's just a movie screen. What is there for actors, we are ordinary viewers just high to see your favorite actors again, and even in one film.
A lot has been written and told about the plot, game, effects, music and other components of the film. Let us not repeat ourselves directly to the characters and actors. What does this trilogy mean to you?
Let's go through the names:
Sylvester Stallone is a real man! Of course, in 64-68 (the first - the third Expendables) years to play a tough guy - a bit difficult. But he does it! Unstoppables are essentially his offspring. He fulfilled the dream of millions of moviegoers - having gathered many action stars on one screen.
Dolph Lundgren – perhaps “The Expendables” have become his best films in the last 15 years... but what about 15, in his entire acting career there are four or five good films (including the Expendables). The role of a little grumpy is great for him.
Jason Statham – it feels like he’s not even playing his roles anymore, but just living... remembering his many works where he constantly plays a former/retired tough guy who always gets into trouble. In general, a typical role, a typical actor of militants.
Arnold Schwarzenegger is my favorite actor, a real action star. Every appearance on the screen is a real celebration. Looking at Trench, only one thought arises - well, why did he get so little screen time?
Wesley Snipes – Since Blade, Snipes’s career has derailed, that not film is a failure in every sense. And the actor is not often removed lately. So the role of Doc in the Expendables is a chance to remind himself, because he is not as old as the other Expendables. And I have to say, he took this opportunity quite well. The character turned out to be quite interesting and memorable. Just a joke about not paying taxes that is worth it.
Antonio Banderas - probably got the role written for Jackie Chan. And he performed it simply magnificently, this chatty irrepressible, outwardly similar to the Tajik guest worker just tore the hall. It remains to be hoped that he received a permanent residence in the unstoppable and we will see him again in the 4th part.
Mel Gibson – unfortunately, in recent years, this amazing actor is not often removed, so every appearance on the screen is a celebration. And the role is quite unusual, because he does not often play villains. By the way, the villain turned out to be quite interesting...
Harrison Ford is a small role for a good actor at such an advanced age, I think many people were pleased. Personally, I would be much more pleased as a government husband to see Bruce Willis again. But as Sly said, "greed and laziness..." "
Jet Lee – I honestly don’t understand why he was given so little screen time. In the first part, his character added a lot of humor, was a kind of soul of the company. And his acting is better than many other regular characters in the trilogy. But even these few minutes of flashing on the screen, brought a lot of joy to his fans.
Randy Couture - for this no longer a young, but not too experienced actor - "The Expendables" became almost the best films / roles in his short film career. Plus, probably, financial flexibility (which does not threaten Willis) allowed him to get the status of a permanent fighter of the squad of Expendables for three films. In general, the role is not particularly noticeable against the rest. Personally, I would prefer to see Hulk Hogan, Dwayne Johnson, John Travolta or Nicholas Cage in his place.
Terry Crews – there is only one question – what the hell is he doing in the team of action stars?
Young actors, to say they are disappointed is to say nothing. They looked absolutely unnecessary ... superfluous ... If all the shots with their appearances were removed and reduced the film by 30 minutes, then the picture would only WIN!
To sum up, I would like to note that The Expendables is not a movie for everyone. There are no beautiful special effects like in Avatar or Avengers. There is no twisted plot like in Bourne. There's no... It doesn't matter...
The main thing here is nostalgia!
Nostalgia for the heroes of video salons. When our favorite heroes were young. When they knocked down the bad guys by the hundreds ... and we were surprised how they do not run out of ammunition.
This is a movie for the thinking viewer ... and not popcorn eaters of the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy and Transformers - filmed in "green rooms."
This is nostalgia not only for the audience, but also for the actors themselves. Their time is gone and will never return. If you want to slow it down a bit...
Yes, "The Expendables" is far from a masterpiece. But it's a good movie! It's a movie from the dashing 80s and 90s. And it is much better than most modern paintings.
Would I like to see part four? Yes, but only if there are old actors again. Only if they invite Cage, Seagal, Travolta, Hogan, Chan, Cruz, Washington...
Of the young, you can call - Jovovich, Diesel, Pete, Jolie, Dwayne Johnson.
The great Martin Scorsese in the late sixties, studying the Hollywood trends of his time, correctly noticed the fact that actors who at some point decide to step over the studio line and become creators, always very much imitate the directors with whom they worked throughout their lyceum career. You don’t have to go far for an example this year. Just look at the recent “Excellence” filmed by the cameraman Christopher Nolan, which tries to take over from him the volume static frame and a sense of constant anxiety, but merges on all fronts. Mr. Sylvester Stallone, who for most of his career starred in every eight-costal obscenity with explosions, hostages and chases, also tries to keep up with the greats of this world, so that his two previous films were shot according to the precepts of the militants of the time. But realizing that this didn’t work in the twenty-first century, he switched to the more successful and seemingly fitting concept of his Expendables franchise. Sly even this time gave the director’s chair to a newcomer who decided to shoot his “Team A”, but was trapped. Which, I think, is not surprising.
As in any self-respecting triquel, this time a team of fearless mercenaries-saredevils is waiting for a split in their friendly bloody family, plus attempts to revive the lost male friendship. During the rescue of his bosom friend from the prison of a third world country, the Expendables meet their old enemy - a ruthless thug and along the way (classic!) nuclear weapons dealer Stonebanks. A vicious guy injures one of the team members and begins a hunt for the remaining heroes, buying multimillion-dollar paintings in snowy Moscow, but for some reason he never touches vodka. The unstoppable decide to take revenge. Blood, cannon shots, gunpowder, burning enemies, finale.
The main problem of the new “Expendables” is not in the delusional scenario that is automatically attached to such films, and not even in some catastrophic imitation of all the actions of recent years, and not the best quality. Sly’s main project of this decade lost the most important thing – the ineradicable actor’s texture, which saved all militants from the past and kept the notorious Expendables afloat.
The acting team from the past two parts has thinned significantly, which is explained by the dangerous work of the mercenary, but in fact only those representatives of the old action guard who, despite everything, still need money very much remained in the frame. Recently released from prison, Wesley Snipes, ready now for any job, who replaced Bruce Willis Harrison Ford, who asked too large a fee, who does not even try to show something sane in the frame, balding Schwarzenegger, and a team of unknown newcomers - everything says that the Expendables on the screen, that in life, have already thoroughly deflated.
The only one who delights in this whole show of acting unprofessionalism is old Mel Gibson. The eminent anti-Semite and alcoholic, who, because of his inappropriate statements, became persona non-grata of modern Hollywood, is so rarely given roles that he seizes every opportunity and this time broke away completely. It goes something like this: you look at the screen for about 20 minutes, yawn, watch another exploding helicopter. And then there is a charismatic villain performed by Mel. You get very excited and you start to get a real high from watching. But 5 minutes pass, the bad guy disappears from the frame, and now again an exploding helicopter flies up. And again, as they say, hello.
It seems to me that Stallone should introduce our beautiful Soviet singer Joseph Kobzon. It seems that the syndrome of reluctance to leave the stage in any form but feet forward is inherent not only in the figures of our stage, but also in Hollywood stallions. Rotten Tomatoes’ upcoming film database already tells us that a fourth installment is just around the corner. So to hope that someone will stop in time is a vain, empty hope.
Brave old men want to wish only one thing: stop riding horses on imaginary hot spots. Take care of your grandchildren, as does Clint Eastwood, each time refusing to participate in this dance of senile suicide convulsions.
I don’t want to write a whole book about this movie, but I’ll start in order.
Let’s look at what the first and second parts were like. The first one was great. First, such films have not yet been where the heroes of the militants are gathered in one film.
It was cool, shooting scenes, chases, fights. There was a story, but it was! The first film was a serious film, and that scene in the temple with Schwarzenegger, Stallone and Willis was just a bomb!
Take the second film: Here it was also very happy that the action was also a lot and was filmed with a soul, but the film could please with jokes. Chuck Norris appeared, though not for long, but it was worth it. That joke about Chuck still makes you laugh. The main villain was Van Damme, oh how cool he played the main villain. Even the manner of conversation, already evokes respect and a couple more with Scott Adkins. The way he moved, as he said, everything was very cool, and the last fight was really bad. The scene at the airport was awesome. I think a lot of people would agree with me.
Now take the movie Expendables 3, the trailer showed a lot of action. And in the trailer everything looked very cool and powerful. After all, we were shown Wesley Snipes and Harrison Ford, and they didn't exist before. As a result, watching the movie, the beginning is very boring and boring. You wait and think, well, when will there be something interesting. As a result, shootings begin, and there is no interest. That's almost half the movie. Then something interesting begins and we are shown action and fights.
Even there is Mel Gibson in the role of a villain, but he is weak as a villain. There is even a young guard in the film. In the end, puff, bang. This is all put frankly, boring and little interesting. Of course, there are moments very cool, when in one helicopter we see Schwarzenegger, Ford and Lee. Unfortunately, even those moments were made for 5 or 10 minutes in the film and there are very few. The film did not live up to expectations and the plot is incredibly weak.
I don’t want to offend anyone, but it is evident in the film “Stallon” and it is no longer cool.
As a result, the film was barely average. The film did not live up to expectations.
In tribute to the heroes of the militants, I put an assessment
“The Expendables 3” is a classic action movie, the style of which they decided to adopt from the eighties and show in front of a modern audience, which is used to stupid shooting with pistols, explosions and a complete lack of plot.
Sly’s desire to assemble a team of superstars who have already spent more than one fight in the militant ring is commendable. And the idea was successful and paid off as many as two films. Agree that to see live Chuck Norris, who has already stopped acting in the movies while I walked under the table, is a colossal achievement and ecstasy, comparable only to drinking soda from a machine gun of the nineties.
And that's the idea we embraced. The first film collected an impressive box office due to its atmosphere. The director did not hide behind the rating and showed us the film we had been waiting for. Namely, he gathered tough guys and showed how they are able to crush their enemies with a machine gun, close-up filming splashes of blood and bodies flying from one corner to another. The second part has become more fluffy, the actors have become more, and the plot could not accommodate everyone in the narrative and to this day is not able to do it.
Nothing changed, but I was waiting for a reboot. I expected that in the third part, the director would invite even more actors and give them an equal amount of screen time, even if it would blow the film for more than two hours. But alas. The number of actors per square meter of the set has increased, and time was not enough for everyone.
The plot jumps from one to another and by the middle of the film, it seems that it does not develop along a rolled-in path, but sticks together from completely different parts. This is the main problem of all three parts. Inviting action stars is one thing, you don’t need a lot of intelligence, but the ability to fit them all into screen time and give them the opportunity to develop their characters throughout the story is another. If the first director, Sly, succeeds by five plus, then the second one needs to work harder. Therefore, if the director wants to remove another part, you need to take into account the mistakes of the previous ones, and not stamp on the conveyor more and more new pies with the same filling, which is already quite tired. It is time to breathe life, and I understand everything is moving towards this, but the replacement is weak, not equal.
As for the cast, each of them just stood up in front of the camera. Stallone, Statham, Lungren and Couture, just a background that is present in the frame, but does not carry any semantic load. It would be much more productive to spend their screen time developing a young team (Luts, Powell, Ortiz and Rousey) that has potential and no time to show it. A pleasant addition in the person of Snipes brought a little madness to the film, but it all ended exactly at the moment he spoke. Harrison Ford, just some famous guy who occasionally appears in the frame and says a few words. A Schwarzenegger and Lee generally decided to move to the background. Mel Gibson could play a great villain, if not a masterpiece, but alas, not enough time. And it turns out that we have just a banal herd of men with guns on the edge, who rush into battle and shoot at enemies.
Simply put, a one-time movie about old people who do not want to retire and crumble everything in their path. To me, the lack of a good plot and the inability to reveal all the characters and allocate them more screen time is a serious problem that needs to be eliminated, that needs to be solved.
But I liked the movie exclusively by the cast, no more, no less.
But if something like this will be in the next irresistible, forgive me, but on some actors the film will not swim out, and the viewer will soon get tired, if not already tired.

If bullets sparkle around, shells burst, tanks explode and helicopters fall, and the screen begins to not withstand so many Hollywood stars per square meter - then the Expendables are back in business!
I will immediately tell you about the new team – everyone liked it, except for the UFC champion (I hope she is not sitting here and does not know Russian) – from it you could make a colorful character, and it turned out just a gray female bonfire, which, perhaps, would become a star in any other film, but without chances “merges” any other character in the picture. Although, I must admit, not everyone can stand out among these types.
Antonio Banderas is simply delightful - from his hero, played in the style of some Rowan Atkinson, I laughed the whole film. Genius!
However, an important clarification is that the new team began to be perceived by me only together with the old one, to which I became attached so that when they parted with it, it was absolutely irrelevant to those very beginners - they are not yet ready to take on so much time alone. However, it was worth returning to the representatives of Old School as everything returned to normal.
I'm waiting for the fourth part, aha

I am not a special lover of writing reviews, but still here I can not remain silent, too criticized them.
Why is the film so bad as many people write? Yes, especially nothing, except that weak graphics and would like more tin. Everything and everything is in its place!
I’m not going to go into details, I’m going to define the strengths of the film. Very pleased with the main villain Gibson, damn convincing! Yes, Van Damme was also a pretty bad guy and it was interesting to watch him, but then he was given very little screen time. Eric Roberts is probably the worst negative character in the trilogy. As for the final fight, I am personally pleased. The muzzle and the peep-puff, everything is rude and without unnecessary dialogue. I was pleased with the scene of Banderas and the new Expendable, dynamically, technically, and Banderas burns and kills, young, positive character!
What I want to say about young people... They diluted the film, a little distraction, there was no sense of disgust, bold and advanced.
Outcome: I’ll be waiting for Episode 4 and maybe Episode 5. Let it be removed until it comes to a stroke ...
Rimbaud climbing rocks. Killer Chev Chellios. Chinese dragon. Negro gamer. Russian guy from the USSR. Unkillable nut from the police. Fearless Terminator. These guys decided to get together to make a good profit.
A nuclear arms dealer appeared on the horizon (he used to try on the roles of historical figures like Scotsman William Wallace). Therefore, our heroes open a huge casting to accept new valuable cadres into the ranks. A lot of young faces, although there made a stiff “hot Spaniard” with a young soul and a storm of vampires Blade. Church left the Expendables, and Han Solo took his place before taking the helm of the Millennium Falcon again in Star Wars Episode VII. As for Church, I have an idea where he might be.
I'm on a fucking vacation! (c) Die Hard 5.
Plot. The weakest component of the triquel "The Expendables". Not only is it predictable, it’s also a kind of mirror image of the 2012 sequel. For example, the “old men” will again have to avenge the villain for one of their own, and closer to the end of such “references” appear even more, and by the last battle they only reach their climax. Plus, the film is not without sublime pathos, like many American action films.
The atmosphere. But much more has been done. You will again watch the “fighter of the 80s”, in which the brave guys gather in a small bunch in front of a huge army of scoundrels and enter into an unequal, it would seem, battle to arrange a truly exciting “weed”. Hence the beautifully staged action, in absolutely any scene of the triquel or past films of the series. Of course, the final battle in this regard was particularly successful. But the plot, again, it is completely predictable and painfully familiar.
Should I go in there and shoot everyone?
- Not a bad plan. For the last century.
Accordingly, the writers (including Stallone again) needed to breathe a little bit of novelty in the face of young, even unfamiliar actors. The new team of heroes is a hacker and a skilled climber, a fighter and a stunning (literally) girl. That is, a number of clichés from the militants of the XXI century are added, but they successfully fit into the triquel.
Another beauty of the script is memorable dialogue, in which great humor slips, and everyone will like it. Sly is again not childish; so that the audience will remember it for a long time. And again in the spirit of the good 80s, as conceived by the creators of the series “The Expendables”. Stars, humor, style, action and a simple, like five cents, plot: in the whole trilogy, the spirit of the last century is preserved. We can thank the authors for this.
- How much do we get paid for this?
- Very little!
My verdict: So far, the triquel has collected a very impressive amount at the box office. Maybe because the movie leaked three weeks before the premiere. Perhaps because the plot is highly predictable (although this is successfully offset by jokes and atmosphere). But you know, it has more light sides than dark sides, and I was happy with the third part. Even a fourth wanted to; you could call Steven Seagal or bring Chuck Norris back, and talk to Jackie Chan again. The new film is good not only because of old friends who showed the master class again, but thanks to the fast-flowing drive, as well as excellent humor. Despite the main conflict of the third part, I am sure that old people can still be useful in any of the most difficult cases.

Our superhero team once again has no rest: it is necessary to solve the issue with one of the founding fathers of the Expendables - Conrad Stonebanks ( Mel Gibson), which, as usual, is not enough; to release from prison another new old friend - Dog ( Wesley Snipes), who served behind bars for 8 years, because the team itself somehow slightly curtailed. Lucky guy, what to say, finally needed, not a year has passed.
In addition, Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) takes newcomers to the detachment, because the old school is not in harmony with high-tech and the XXI century and, as it were, is aging and not coping. In the CIA, too, changes, now, instead of Church, the squad is overseen by someone Max Drummer, painfully similar to Harrison Ford. In the background from time to time flash Trench (Arnold Schwarzenegger), Yin Yang (Jet Li) and Caesar (Terry Crews), who managed to take 2 hours to the hospital.
What's the problem? That the essence of "The Expendables" is in the game of heroes of old fighters, based on a simple plot, funny dialogues and phrases, frank banter, unbreakable charisma of actors, dynamics and scale of action. In no case should you try to even temporarily remove the old school with its dialogues from the foreground, if they have nothing to replace either in terms of script or actors!
What did the first two parts do? The fact that there was no over-the-top dialogue in its length and monotony. And here it was as if he had not watched the action movie, but the drama. And how much pathos and banality! They were in previous films, but the hearing was not cut, in an insane number were not served and pretty slapped with spectacular phrases. The third part, in many ways, is devoid of such a banter, so Barney began to cut from the heart to the left-right pathos fir. And that's a mercenary unit. The apotheosis was the demonstration of super discipline in the team, when the “old men” and “young men” almost fought. With the ensuing pathosly fiery speech Barney.
And who are these supernovae?! One - Smiley (Kellan Lutz) - does not like, it turns out, to obey the authorities. The other is a “cool” hacker Thorn/Wyfay (Glen Powell) - can only press buttons in a laptop. Moon (Ronda Rousey) is well able to randomly tumble in all directions, you need to establish a separate belt. Mars (Victor Ortiz) is generally not noticeable. Only the “young, but early” hero Antonio Banderas was, at times, very funny, but even then, no less often he wanted to shoot. Because I'm not sure that such annoying mercenaries are easily tolerated among mercenaries.
I got through the masochistic obsession with the delivery of the villain to the Hague court. That's it, no more, no less. Yes, even bin Laden to The Hague decided not to bring, but simply eliminated. And here, it turns out, you need to leave alive not very private, but only an arms dealer who has dirt on the CIA. Why? Why? The rationale is brilliant: "That's an order." That's it.
The funniest thing about the film is that sacramental question of one of the newcomers voiced in the title of the review. And he's right. But no, there can be no easy way, so Barney and the “kindergarten in the sandbox” did not burn out. Apparently, young people are also outdated, not having time to grow up.
Barney reassembles the “old guard” with the same task – to deliver the bastard to the “most humane” court in the world. And all with the same rationale. I started having fun at the session.
What don't I like? You know, folks, it's hard for me to understand when an action movie based on the '80s is suddenly not based on the '80s. I can’t remember the old militants, where the villains were not just killed, but stubbornly dragged to court. Remember the action films of Willis, Schwarzenegger and the same Stallone. Did they take anyone alive and bring them to trial? To liquidate is to liquidate. No questions or doubts. And then the hero of Gibson great honor to show decided — twice trying to drag in the Hague court.
Unfortunately, some of the old friends did not appear in the film. However, the hero of Ford color and infallibility Willis clearly lacked, so the CIA came out very faint and unconvincing.
The figure of the villain in the performance of Gibson here is thoroughly mundane, even for the militant.
There is nothing to say about beginners at all, the images are frankly weak, and sometimes just no. The banderas is just a bit amusing.
As for the “old guard”, in this scenario, it was criminally few. One was put to the hospital for the whole film, some of the others howled to the moon. Statham never used knives and made fun of Stallone. Snipes didn't hit. How many times have Jet Lee been bullied, but I really want to see his technique. The episode with Trench and the machine gun somehow does not impress, do not allow Schwarzenegger to turn around.
Finally, Barney has the whole movie with such a grimace of fatigue on his face, as if Barney and Stallone are already fed up with everything. In addition, he often looked more like a tearful babysitter, rather than a squad commander.
Sometimes the work of the operator was very annoying, when the footage shuffled one after another at breakneck speed, only have time to see what. I didn’t know there was a city like Mogadishu. Is that what they did?
Enemy armies are standard. Ordinary soldiers, special forces - no matter, they crush everyone and quickly. And the most interesting shots for me from the final battle - the shooting of tanks at the "Hotel". For a couple of dozen shots, which is funny, stunned slightly one Stallone.
The music was good sometimes.
-
I would not go with such a cheerful "team" in intelligence, of course. He expected Stallone to allow the “old guard” to turn even more, and on the contrary, he drove her almost to the backyard. It's good to have everyone in the hospital bed.
I hope Stallone doesn’t want to turn his own idea into a banal big-budget thrash drama, however, Barney survived again at the end of the film, so we can expect the release of the next part. The same, according to old memory, I will give an estimate in advance. In the hope that Stallone will go about his business without going into dramatic experiments. For to see instead of a decent action movie in the manner of the 80s, something similar to pretentious prose without an old school, almost the whole film is, sorry, a FULL BASIC.

Prepare yourself, dear viewer, at first you will have to be bored, and in some moments even more so – pull the film with your own comments! And that was to be expected - the third part, no way! And therefore the body of the whole project overgrown with even more impenetrable story armor. And new characters burst onto the stage not as enchanting as before, and a fresh lineup, frankly, without a light. The unstoppable age rapidly. But, despite this, the most important forms of art for our people are still circus and cinema! And the disadvantage of neither in one or the other when viewing the third part of the franchise, to put it mildly, is not felt. Therefore, we clap our hands in each explosion, sincerely rejoice that Russian weapons can be defeated only by Russian weapons, condescendingly smile at the irrational beauty of fights and shootings, fascinated in armchairs to the cries of St. Sylvester, with the usual genius depicting physical pain and its overcoming! The picture justifies the genre advances issued to it closer to the final quarter, which without exaggeration can be called masterpiece (within the framework of good old traditions, of course). The level of what is happening on the screen increases, the real heat begins! Everything is very cruel, but without a single drop of blood, which, however, is successfully compensated by a beautiful voiceover - scenes of hand-to-hand combat with the use of cold weapons and improvised objects can simply be heard! The satirical component of the film is difficult to recognize as viable, but how nice it is to suddenly find the style of humor of this brutal universe, just crumbling into memes! It does not do without branded vanilla in the relationship of harsh killers, but happy tradition is sacred, and therefore not discussed. In general, dear viewer, if you are longing for tooth-brushing and shooting adventures, fictional dysfunctional countries and muscular grandfathers, then cheerful viewing!

The first heroes of the action... The latest action hero... The only heroes of the action movie!
Expectations were a little tricked. But, fortunately, they were deceived in a good way, for the picture seemed better than what I dreamed of. And I have a fantasy - be healthy. I thought the continuation would be very bad. This time, there were green characters in the story. The fact that the film will be, to put it mildly, not an ice – I already knew when I learned that the plot in the team of the Expendable Old Men will appear fresh blood. And not just appear, but stand with them throughout the film. Then I imagined myself as Nostradamus, predicting the collapse of the triquel - but I didn't expect it. It was possible to guess that over time in the film there will be some competition between the old proven school and thugs with knowledge of modern technologies, who no longer take up the good old “break the door, break in, win”. After all, it is always interesting to see what will win – experience or youth (as for me, experience has made youth here), but such moves are better left for the last part, and this is not the last. And you have to have time to film all the old men before they retire, like Sir Sean Connery. And in general, it was worth starting these films 20 years ago, when everyone was in shape, there was still that atmosphere and everyone could light up over time. Emmett Brown and his DeLorean are not on them, well, come on - was not and was not. So here's what I'm talking about. Oh, yeah, I started sanding the new ones! The newcomers here are not remembered at all.Sylvester Stallone apparently decided to experiment with the script, writing in newcomers and almost half a movie to remove in a long box of his old proven comrades. Because, you see, it finally dawned on Barney Ross that they were doing dangerous things and were in the hands of the CIA like cannon fodder. And then he decided not to risk his people and throw some salad on such a spooky case as the capture of Conrad Stonebanks - an old-school fighter, a former friend and one of the founders of the Expendable team. And here the logical thread breaks – the team of the Expendables always clearly understood that they are consumables and dashingly, but willingly performed the most dangerous tasks. If Barney decided to disband them to protect them, there was no point in assembling such a team. And sacrifices like Hail Caesar were inevitable. And here lies the main reason for the indignation of fans and viewers and the main disadvantage - the skeletons, whose venerable faces are completely unfamiliar to me. And we should not even hope that they will be at the level of the original team – they are behind them by about 20-25 screen time. The essence of The Expendables was precisely in eminent actors - graduates of the old school with gold medals. And then, if these guys show what they did 20 years ago, then even the plot could not play a major role. Because they are the first heroes of the action movie, the last heroes of the action movie - and the ONLY heroes of the action movie! In the sequel The Expendables it was clear the appearance of a young Lyam Hemsworth - the film needed someone who would be quickly killed by the enemies of our heroes and for whom they would go to avenge. After all, revenge is a classic motif of such militants. But here! Yes, Conrad Stonebanks kidnapped the young woefully unstoppables and the squad went to get them out. But they were going to destroy their enemy. And the appearance of a computer genius, a non-dovampire from the undermasterwork Twilight, a pretentious (albeit appetizing) woman, who in my life do not cause interest due to their masculinity and a half-African-American boxer in the plot, except for a headache, did not cause anything else and did not affect him in any way. Conclusion: Should they have been included here? Jackie Chan is the most anticipated person in this film, who refused a secondary role because he wanted to play one of the main ones. Instead of the lost half of the film, it would be worth writing a full role for Jackie, accepting Steven Seagal with honors and returning Jean-Claude Van Damme. I am silent about increasing the roles of the rest of the team, let alone the role of Jet Lee, who should have been forced to fight rather than smack from a machine gun. His horse was always fighting, not shooting. After all, the timing allowed here to show everyone in its glory. Yes, and Stallone himself, as noted already - in each film pulls a blanket on himself, his beloved.
Harrison Ford, Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas and Mel Gibson was the category of new faces that pleased the eye. Especially Gibson and Banderas.Harrison Ford I was annoyed by the bad character of his character. But, probably, this was his mission here - to outdo the Temple in harmfulness Bruce Willis. It is really worth giving milk for free. Snipes competes with the character of Jason Statham, jokes about taxes, “ding-dink” and does not spoil the picture with his game. Antonio Banderas is brilliant. A rare passenger. Burns whip more than his Miguel Bane in Assassins with Stallone, leaning even on his Cat In Boots. Screenwriters, creators, Sylvester, do not ask for myself - unlike the young (without which the film absolutely nothing will lose) do not remove this fruit from the sequel.
Mel Gibson I knew this actor would beat almost everyone. And I'm not mistaken - a very charismatic villain. Unlike the second Expendables, the final fight, although in time did not reach its predecessor, Stallone vs. Van Damme, but surpassed in dynamics, because the villain from Gibson came out stronger and more dangerous than Van Damme.
The special effects didn’t hurt – buildings, helicopters, armored trains, tanks explode as beautifully as before. The music is pretty monotonous. But I think it’s just the soundtrack of the entire franchise, so don’t expect another tune.
For the film, I would have put 9.5, if not for the young, who, although he did not trample the picture into the mud, but still was a weak link in it (oh, there is not enough aunt on them from the first channel in a suit, glasses and with a high voice, who sends participants backstage in the same packs as the villains here lie twenty people at a time) and not tanks that were hit almost manually – well not kicked at all (it was beautiful, but too implausible – Swartz looks much alone).
Overall, the picture was successful. And Patrick Hughes, given his small experience in film, still shot this film so that it was worthy of the title “The Expendables”.
7.5 out of 10
The third "Expendables" tangible, although not yet catastrophically passed in comparison with the first two parts. And in the first place, the film did not benefit from the softening of the rating with the obvious goal of attracting a wider audience and, accordingly, making more money. But the thing is that it was the hard rating that was initially the main feature of the franchise, which did not prevent, by the way, the first two series to collect a very decent box office. It was for the cool and harsh action, flavored with the same strong sharp humor, the tapes about Barney Ross and his team loved.
To reformat “The Expendables” into a semi-family movie, as shown by the film by Patrick Hughes, turned out to be an ungrateful and impossible task. The cool guys he brought together for the shoot with Stallone are mostly not accustomed to psychological drama with long conversations and during their careers such characters (again for the most part) played a little. As a result, the Hughes-Stallon movie could not take place as a drama, because all these internal conflicts of the characters look unconvincing and played, starting with Barney Ross himself. At the same time, due to “talks for life”, the picture lost significantly in entertainment, because the action scenes that gave way to the above conversations and self-digging, in the third part are an order of magnitude smaller, although those that are still staged stylishly and flawlessly.
Another disappointment for me was the unsuccessful casting for the young replenishment of The Expendables. None of the actors shot here (in a figurative sense, of course), with the formal exception of Galgo in the brilliant performance of Antonio Banderas, but he is not considered a youth, just another veteran in the Ross team. We did not get both with the young actors themselves and with their characters: none of them even hints at any originality.
But what the creators guessed was with the invitation of Harrison Ford and especially Mel Gibson. The latter perfectly played a negative hero, as if he had portrayed them all his life. What is most interesting - without losing a drop of his trademark Gibson charm. One-third of Hughes’s film was undoubtedly Mel. I am sincerely glad and count on more than one decent project with his participation. Very good and Ford, but looking at him, while somehow hard to imagine how convincing will be his Han Solo in the new “Star Wars”.
The already familiar faces have done their job well: Stallone, Statham, Lundgren and others, although the character of Dolph in the third series is somewhat lost. The same, only slightly less, applies to the hero Arnold Schwarzenegger: paired with Bruce Willis, he in the second “Expendables” looked more interesting.
Despite a number of punctures, before the fourth Expendables, which I hope will still be, I remain optimistic. We need a detailed “flight analysis”, a return to their usual rating, new story ideas and new actors who will play original characters, not a banal stereotypical set of stamps. If all this can be realized, I am sure the franchise will take a new breath and perhaps not even for one film.

I recently watched a movie and decided to give my opinion. In my opinion, this is the worst of all three parts about Barney Ross and his team. Sadly enough, the number of stars increases, and the quality of this only decreases. Each movie is worse than the previous one. I really liked the first film, I consider it a classic action movie. There were not many characters in it, but they were given enough attention, although of course Stallone and Stetham took up more time than the others. But it is understandable, Stallone is the director, producer and in general the leader of the whole team, and Statham was at his peak and of all was the most popular. The plot was not very intricate, but suitable and adequate for this film. There was a lot of humor, but at the same time it was not too much, as in the subsequent parts. And what I was most pleased with was the quality of the action. He was up there. There were no shaking cameras, ragged editing, there was a good staging of hand-to-hand fights. There was the main villain and a couple of his assistants who were remembered. I didn't forget the love lines. Everything was balanced and balanced.
I liked the second movie a little less. There was too much humor, sometimes completely unnecessary, which in my opinion spoiled the film. There were jokes about the mechanic, the terminator, and so on. Many action scenes here were more confused and not as memorable as in the first part. And that really upset me. And the plot in the middle of the film was very sagging. But there were positives. The villain in the performance of Van Damme turned out, albeit too pathetic, but still memorable. Personally, I was very pleased with the presence of Scott Adkins in the film, and his confrontation with Statham. But unfortunately Scott's potential was only used by 20 percent, no more. And their final fight with Statham, although not bad, could have been much better if it was burned more creatively and with more responsibility. Still remembered the final fight Stallone and Van Damme, and also liked the scene with Statham in the church in the style of Assasins Cride. In general, these were the most memorable moments for me, but in general, the first part was better in everything.
As for the third film, all the disadvantages of the second only increased, and the advantages were not so much. In addition to the fact that the number of stars from the old guard increased, so they also added a younger generation, which in the end did not impress at all. Because of the search of the main characters, none of them was paid due attention. So a lot of screen time was taken from Statham, Lundren and Co. and given to young people who could not pull this film out in principle. A half-assed hercule, a young girl, and a couple of other guys I've never met before are not the irresistibles I want to see. A lot of screen time was given only to Stallone, the rest flashed only from time to time. Crews quickly left the game and we will see him only at the end, Lee and Schwarzeneger were completely in the background. Even though I think Arnie is too old for this team. So did Harrison Ford, although he was not involved. Couture was not visible at all, Lundren was also deprived with time. Even Statham, who in the first film along with Stallone was given the main role, was also not allowed to turn around, and in general his character was clearly deprived. I was pleased with the appearance of Snipes and Banderas. Although the first only looked bright at first, and then as well as everything dissolved into a gray, confused mass. Banderas is remembered. I liked it. And in the final action scene, which I'll come back to, the moments with him were some of the best, and the humor with him was pretty funny. The funniest thing in the movie. Although I think this too much, but it is at everyone’s discretion. Mel Gibson was pretty good as a villain. I especially liked his conversation with Barney and the young people. That was very convincing. But he was alone, all alone. Van Dam had a bright assistant in the face of Adkins. Everyone here was completely faceless.
The film is also worse than the previous two. Barney decides to suddenly disband the team, although this task will not be inferior to the previous two, and recruit a new team. Which is like suicide. In the end, everyone comes back to the worst of times. It was pretty stupid. And there was no normal confrontation between the old and the new school. Everything was limited to mutual quarrels and nothing more.
But even for all the roughness of the plot, the numerous templates that were present in previous parts in abundance, and illogical actions and turns, I would close my eyes if the film pleased with a quality action. Unfortunately, my expectations were not met. By this indicator, the third part is definitely the worst of all. All the shootouts, chases and explosions looked very muddled, molten and generally little remembered, unlike the first two parts. And as expected, the final fight was the longest and most suburgical. Because of the overabundance of heroes, there were always transitions from one character to another, and in the end, no one was impressed. The moment with Banderas and Rhonda Raudy looked good. In fact, there was not one normal hand-to-hand combat, which I personally very much love and consider the basis of any action movie. There was a moment with the already mentioned Ronda Raudy, and Statham's fight with a swing. It was the only time Jason was allowed to show himself. But he was godlessly spoiled by a shaking camera, unsuccessful angles, and the fact that this already not long fight was interrupted several times by transitions to other characters. The fight Stallone and Gibson did not impress at all, and is inferior to the fight with Van Damme at times. There was an overabundance of shootings and explosions, but most of them were completely unrealistic, like many other moments, such as with a motorcycle. In general, the final fight disappointed me, I expected much more.
The jokes in the film were also a lot, and overall they were funny, although the moments were too much. The music in the film in some moments was remembered and was in the theme.
Result: I won’t say that the film is a failure and not worth watching. But still, the average turned out to be an action movie. And his predecessors, he certainly did. Fans of this franchise probably disappointed.
The reserves of irrepressibility are exhausted, my lord!
Four years ago, in the first film of this series, there was an attempt to make a real male film, recreating the atmosphere of the militants of the 90s and inviting the actors who actually played in these action films. The film turned out to be pathetic, filled with absolutely meaningless dialogues (which in this genre does not matter, but they turned out too scanty) and quite sad in terms of effects, but it was quite possible to watch and enjoy it, simply because there is something new, and the plot is, and dynamically in general, and actors are loved, and nostalgia, and so on. Because of this, the film was received quite warmly and work began on the second part.
Since the second film should be at least somehow different from the first, and for the better, new old actors were invited, a little diluted the male team by a girl, but it turned out absolutely the same - pathetic, with real male dialogue, meaningless and filled with real male humor, consisting in endless and absolutely emotionless hamstrings of each other (except for the appearance of Chuck Norris, of course). It was exactly the same movie, but with different faces, slightly improved effects and tricks. You can draw an analogy with the series of transformers Michael Bay, but in it, in the presence of what is in the unstoppable, there are also robots, dinosaurs, epicity and good graphics, and with each series the films become more epic and dinosaur, which adds interest when watching and surprises, at least so.
But the third film was exactly the same as the previous ones, only worse. This happened due to the fact that the series added an unknown youngster, who was supposed to cheer up the series with his energy, youth and become a source of humor about the relationship of different generations, but the filmmakers could not cope with this. Trying to distinguish a new team, the old team was abandoned and left them even more spineless and gray (to once again emphasize their old age, apparently), that Dolph Lundgren, who, in the second part, as if died, that the character Randy Couture, who became infected from Lundgren, that Jason Stetham, which is not so old, but still as emotionless. To dilute added a new member of the old group - Wesley Snipes, like a new hero, but at the same time in the old team. The character turned out to be a kind of maniac jester, trying to slightly dilute the grayness of the people around him, but in the end he was crushed by the dullness of what was happening.
The new team consists of a set of stamps and stereotypes, such as:
1). Very smart guy, but at the same time acrobat.
2). A beautiful girl, but she fights like an Amazon.
3). Very cool shooter, no features.
4). And, of course, the most active and useful member of the team is the guy who does not like to follow orders, as he is an example of concentrated coolness (Former military, there is a motorcycle, a pretentious look).
It is worth noting that the behavior of the character and the way everyone treats him looks stupid. Never in the whole film did he disobey an order, rebel, snap, but he was told throughout the film that '. But you must obey!' as if to show how willful and rude this man is, without hinting at the reason for such remarks.
While the old team is thrown among themselves with dull jokes and sadly looks at the gray surrounding them (the gray range fills the entire film), the new team shows all the wonders of youth, such as hacking, hacking and mistakes due to lack of experience. But it was not possible to make them even as charismatic as the characters from the first part, which makes it all look very boring.
Also, to attract a children's audience, an analogue of a funny character from cartoons was specially developed - the character of Antonio Banderas, who from the first appearance on the screen begins to try to make fun of us with unfitting grins, infantility against the background of brutality and the desire to get into the team of the unstoppable. Why does a male film look like a sloth from the Ice Age?
The main villain turned out well, Mel Gibson succeeds in the role of a crazy tyrant, as in the sequel to Machete, but in his role there was extremely little pathos for such a film, which cannot be said about Silvester Stallon, the incessant source of it. Harrison Ford noticeably aged and replaced Bruce Willis as a man from the government, but it is not enough, as Arnold Schwartzner, who mixed up with the second part,
The effects are average, technique, explosions, everything looks cheap, although special effects are one of the main reasons for viewing this genre. Did the whole budget go to royalties?
In conclusion, it can be noted that The Expendables 3 is an unsuccessful attempt to add something new and unusual to the pesky saga of older mercenaries, in exactly the same way as the second part - the addition of new ' colorful & #39; characters, even more guest stars and strange humor. Of course, the series has potential, but the development is either on the wrong path, or the creators are not too trying to create something really addictive and dynamic.

The third part of "The Expendables" and the expectation from it.
This is the third time I have noticed that the expectations of these films are much higher than their implementation. Of course, you say, it so often happens that movies disappoint, but...
When it was announced about the participation of Van Damme and Scott Adkins in the second part, he unwittingly prepared himself for a mega fight with Sly and Stethem, which in the end was not justified. The staging of the fight was terrible. There was only hope for a third part and a rethink of the entire course of this franchise.
In the end, what do we have?
Plus:Snipes, Banderos, Ford, Gibson.
Minus:Van Damme, Edkins, Chuck Norris, Bruce Willis
This applies to major losses and acquisitions. It is worth noting the presence of young Expendable, which, unlike Liam Hemsworth spoiled this film. Kellan Lutz - the guy from Twilight, what else can I say? Tito Ortiz is a good fighter, but a terrible actor, all the time squinting and grinding his teeth, what is his problem – I don’t know. But at the time of the shooting he looked like Lima had eaten. In my opinion, it would be worth taking Georges Saint-Pierre for this role, which was lit up in the sequel to Captain America. Ronda Rousey - does not dislike herself at all, it seemed that she did not understand what was happening around her. Glen Powell - if Sly thought that he would attract someone to the cinema at the expense of young people, then Glen did not look like the character that anyone would want to see.
Old people. Wesley Snipes was great, but Sly severely cut his role. At first, we will see his extravaganza, but closer to the 30th minute, everything planned will fade. Snipes has the role of a colorful character, but it will not be possible to reveal his image. Mel Gibson was expecting more. But again, the main antagonist is given a fairly small part of the film. Another miscalculation. Banderas is what you should watch this movie for. He's great. One of his best roles, such a multifaceted character. Ford - came for three minutes no more than that.
Cons.
- The second film in a row is simply dynamite Jet Lee, his presence on the screen is limited to 2 minutes. He was completely deprived of fights and handed a machine gun.
Arnold and Harrison Ford will light up for a little more than five minutes, which is also not happy.
- The fight between the main characters of the film lasts exactly 40 seconds.
- But the downside is not even a primitive scenario, no. It is difficult for me to understand that he is not the same as before and does not withstand the mode of operation at such a pace. He's pulling a blanket he can't handle. Much more logical if each part of "The Expendables" was centered not around one Barney Ross, but in turn Christmas, Yin Yan, Gunarra. Do not dedicate the whole film to them, just pull out the skeletons of each of them. That would be much more interesting. But no, we've been watching Barney and his ghosts of the past and the present for three movies.
Total:If there is a continuation, then I do not see the point in this. If this company does not come to the rescue Seagal, Chan, Cage and a couple of brave guys, then the bench can Z.A.K.R.Y.V.A.T.B.
That's why you made a franchise out of it, right? There was such a cute movie, because of its stupidity and stamping, causing nostalgia for the times of VHS tapes. There, Stallone, an old man, and a few other epic men fought with the enemies of humanity, and fought famously, given the age discount. Then there was the second part, even more fun, with Chuck Norris (he was hitting from the chopper, guess what?) and Arnie's cameo. Old people were slightly forgotten by the target audience and therefore, having fun remembering the old days, looked pleasant.
And then came the third part (and the third part a priori is not very usual, noticed?). And then everything got into my eyes.
Stallone (can I not make up the names of the heroes?) The feeling that the actors themselves regularly forgot them) together with his team (there are very few people left: the same average Stetham, Lundgren, not charismatic, Lee and more) rescues from some super-protected prison Wesley Snipes. Next, they fight in the port against some incredible villain, who then turns out to be Mel Gibson (and everyone aches because he allegedly died many years ago). Gibson wins this time, and Sly, fearing for the lives of old colleagues, at the behest of Harrison Ford (yes, he is an old and tenderly beloved) assembles a new team (there are all generally unknown, strikebreakers some together famous actors). Then Banderas joins them, like a Spanish mega-fighter. That's all I know.
Rare nonsense, which is here instead of the script, did not bother in the first two parts, because only films with such a plot before (age 8) for the movie and counted. But now those same actors, already forgotten, are shining again because of a revived career. And it doesn't seem cute anymore, it seems like they're cashing in on our memories. It’s like an old good friend suddenly became a drug addict and came to steal your TV.
If the second part was really about good B-fighters, then here the actors are not so pleased with the return to the screen. Banderas is frankly annoying: he's not from this opera, and for some reason he has a very stupid joke all the way about being a Latino talker. And so he talks and he talks, and he pisses off the viewer as much as the on-screen crew. Arnie, declared as a member of the team, flickers to the insulting little, with a slightly vague justification for his appearance. And he is too old and square, not a hero.
The only actor to play is Mel Gibson. He is, of course, in the role of “Machete Kills”, but it is here very convenient. Lively, direct, real villain, without shame and conscience - as in the good old days. It is nice when he appears, at least somehow dilutes this swamp.
Strangely, the cliches that were so pleasant to watch in the previous parts, look as silly as if now to review the movie, which is nostalgic. From a giant, no joke, bomb dropped from the sky, the heroes are only thrown into the water. Stallone, running out of the collapsing building, jumps on a rope, someone dropped from flying away with the crew of the helicopter. And even the stupid pettiness at the end, presented as a title fight, filmed with gluing at every second, does not evoke sadness about the old years, but only makes you think about whether everything here is filmed with doubles, or at least the faces are painted on the computer.
Here they write that perhaps it was no coincidence that it was leaked to the Internet before showing a copy of the Expendables-3. Like, so there was at least some explanation for future failed fees at the box office. This version has one drawback: the implication is that anyone involved in the story has a conscience. Stallone, who revived his career, will stop at nothing, it is important for him that he is not forgotten.
It is clear that Stallone’s attempt to retire closer to the beginning on the advice of Schwarzenegger is such a peculiar metaphor. A logical and timely move, the end of his film career, he never did. It is clear that he will not: Stallone’s fee for this part amounted to 15 million, and already announced the 4th part of the franchise, even before the start of the rental of this. It all looks sad, of course, such a dance on the bones of its own greatness. Eh.
The franchise gave a second chance to all those whose names were forgotten or whose names immediately began to appear on the covers of the DVD (E3, already at this level). As in other similar films, "The Expendables" was full of absurdity, all this turned into a sequel, but not counting the cast, saved, at least, the atmosphere of the old school.
To describe all this, you can as a “thresh”, but there is a quality thrash, and there is a complete nightmare from which just turns. And if the first and second films were quite high above the frames, even high-quality thrash, the third hardly holds over the abyss of waste.
There is absolutely nothing to say about the plot, leaky and predictable. Barney's new assignment goes awry when it turns out that the Expendables' goal is one of Barney's old assignments that he failed to tackle. And from the very beginning, the hero Stallone says “that all they say, the old people are deflated, it’s time to rest” and not yet moving away from the just ensuing robbery, steps on the next and so the whole film.
The film itself has humor, but for the most part it comes from the absurdity of what is happening and this is not because “it was the same before”, it was not at all so!
This time the caste does not save at all, from the number of Expendables per square meter, the frame is already cracking. The already established team, Stallone, Statham, Lundgren, Couture, just as a background, and this background, however, does not even allow the "young" version of the team to be revealed in the face of Lats, Powell, Ortiz and Rousey (these actors clearly have potential, but in such films, and in such a genre, they will hit the maximum).
Replenishment in the face of Snipes, added a little madness, Ford, absolutely no, it's not Harrison Ford, it's just some guy replacing Bruce Willis, Banderos, so in general, a local clown. Swarzenegger, Lee, as well as Cruce (who was apparently busy on the set of another film or series), just terribly little. Gibson's antagonist, it's just Gibson. A little pleased with the secondary participation Kelsey Grammer.
The visual part is seriously lame, there have been no such bad special effects for a long time, only a little pleased with the sound design, namely well-chosen soundtracks.
It is worth noting that in some places the film jumps from the classic action movie to the modern techno-thriller (this film adaptation of Call pf Duty), but this is probably thanks to the new team members.
The Expendables 3, can be safely characterized only by the first two letters (Ex), which fully reflect all the futility and hopelessness!
For the second time in a row, I did not plan to go to the cinema for the new Expendables, but in the end I still ended up in the cinema. Free time was a lot, and expensive action movie especially nice to watch on the big screen and with the best sound quality. Last time I did not want to watch the second part of the film about the most star-studded team of guys with big guns, because I thought that the idea of Cannon Meat (and I remind you, this is how the title of the picture should be translated) is fresh, relevant and interesting only for one film. It’s great to see all the major Hollywood actors of this genre together, because many, including me, dreamed that these cool guys at least once joined forces to fight a common enemy. If such an idea had already been implemented before, there would be no need to talk about any effect of uniqueness. The second time, of course, it was not, but to my surprise, I liked the sequel even more than the first part. So I wanted to see my beloved team of unstoppables again. But this time the impressions were not so pleasant.
Filming the second series of adventures of a team of mercenaries led by his beloved, Sylvester Stallone set the bar, which he failed to repeat. Sly realized the franchise needed to be refreshed. First of all, new characters. He did it, but it was too gray and unideal, which is called "for a tick." In the first minutes of the film, the character of Wesley Snipes looked bright and generally gave hope that he would become the main advantage of the sequel. I thought he would be a hero who would take responsibility for the comedy. It will be in every possible way to get into funny situations, find non-standard ways of solving them and at the same time make sharp jokes on the rest of the characters. But soon he somehow quieted down and turned not into a self-sufficient image of a new hero, but into a scenery. The rejuvenation of the team with new stars also did not benefit the film. The recruits of the irrepressible team are exceptionally template and devoid of any charisma characters. “Young man” does not compete with the old guard. Fortunately, the writers also understand this, as shown in the plot of the film. The one who really makes me happy and happy is Antonio Banderas. But alas, screen time is given to him very little, so he failed to radically correct the situation.
Looking for mistakes in a film that does not pretend to be serious and realistic is probably the most useless and stupid thing to do. I've never done this, but here the episodes are so ridiculous that it's too striking. For example, having failed the task of killing the main antagonist at the beginning of the picture, the character of Silverstra Stallone receives an instruction not only to eliminate the most dangerous criminal, but to deliver him safely and safely in order that he appeared before the international Hague court. That is, after the employee failed to cope with the task, he is entrusted with an even more difficult task? And what kind of strange idea is it – not to kill a cunning, prepared and took hundreds of lives criminal, while it is possible, but to try to catch him and take him to court? Since when are international criminals caught and tried rather than killed on the spot? They are taking him, by the way, for some reason not by air transport, but by land, which is also not quite clear.
To explain all this, however, it is necessary to add to the film as many reasons as possible for scenes of action, which is difficult to find fault with. Even though there is no blood in the frame now (PG-13), everything looks spectacular. Therefore, I can partially agree that for the sake of special effects and drive on blunders in the plot, you can close your eyes.
Conclusion: beautifully shot, banter and funny action movie, which is significantly worse than the previous parts. There is much to see, but nothing to admire. Still, tie up with the "Expendables" I would not advise Sylvester Stallone, since there is no one-sided downward movement of the franchise. The second part is better than the first. The third, in turn, is worse than the second. Perhaps the fourth part will be better than the previous one. But it will require fresher ideas and better implementation.
"Are you working for the CIA?" You work for Barney? Who does Barney work for? Who does the CIA work for? Hell, you don’t know who you’re working for!
In any scenario, it is very important that the hero pursues a goal, and preferably a global one. There are fights in this movie. But why and why? In the movie, everyone fights for money. At best, for the sake of fighting.
Over the years, it is increasingly difficult to stay afloat – especially if you do not succeed in becoming a real actor. How to defend your demand in the world of cinema, if all you can do is show off biceps? If you're seventy, go and work. And the job is to flip on the background of exploding grenades. Which is sad. Fighter is a young man's business.
What are you going to do?
- Make as much money as possible. For children who do not call.
I dare assume that these words refer to Sylvester in the same way as to the companion of his hero.
So that's what I liked. A lot of fighting and a lack of blood. The Unstoppables destroy an entire army and not a drop of blood on the screen. I like Antonio Banderos, light and funny. I like Mel Gibson, as always interesting and deep. I liked Glen Powell, probably, simply because the script of his hero’s iKew is above the average of all his brothers combined. I liked the music. Brian Tyler sometimes cheats on Hans, who Zimmer, but still, the temperature keeps.
That I didn't like. I didn’t like that there was no clear story. I did not like that all the action takes place in some destroyed buildings, decaying space. I don’t like the fact that the movie is full of patterns. Here, Barney is recruiting a new team. Pompously and ridiculously he appears here and there. The end, to put it mildly, does not justify the means. Here, he's running after the helicopter. All his friends portray grief, but a second later he emerges from the ashes. How many times have you seen such scenes? None of this is very good for Patrick Hughes. It looks like he's still learning and learning.
Yes, Sly and the crew are more than actors (and childhood memories), but we have to admit that the time of the old people is gone. I will say more, with this gesture they acknowledge their defeat. Although, considering that for many “expendables” it is a “swan song”, you can treat the film more condescendingly.
Once, for the complete Commando Super Fighters collection, I was missing one liner #13, not just me. We bought chewing gum for 10-20 pieces, immediately unfurled them, and irritated by the lack of that rare specimen. Then I persuaded the saleswomen to take out entire blocks, and carefully, with a match, lifted the edges of the wrapper to see the corner of the sticker I needed so badly. In the end, I got the prodigal Schwarzenegger from Predator.
Even earlier, photos of Bruce Lee’s posters with Norris from “The Way of the Dragon”; “American Ninja”, “Commando”, “Rembo”, “Delta Force”, “Conan”, “Cobras” were collected. Later it became possible to buy original posters. What am I talking about? After I read one female comment, Banderas was infuriating from the first frames, but the nanny Kellan Lutz from Twilight liked very much. I immediately remembered K/f "Forbidden entry". Go away, girl! Come on, get out of here!
Now to the point. The same pathos, bravado and measuring with trunks, which in the previous parts looked at the level of a stalk, is presented here with all seriousness, which is depressing. Self-irony and subtle humor, noticeably dried up. But still a joke with taxes (who does not know, Snipes recently recanted after a 3-year sentence for tax evasion) and a climber (Sly's remark about the fact that he also knows how to climb rocks) in the fairway of "The Expendables".
It is a pity that Chan again did not get a seat, the cunning man requested a full-fledged role, not agreeing to the episode (like in the 4th part Jackie has already booked a trip with Brosnan). Sly once offered Chan a role in The Destroyer, but the Chinese pacifist did not want to become a villain, and Wesley Snipes then took this chance, playing the role of a convict. But Bruce Willis helped Harrison Ford with his bloated ego (which is surprising, after rotten “fifth nuts”). But more than others came to the court of Banderas, which breathed a second breath into the sluggish spectacle. Gibson is cool, but as a Glavgad he showed little, except fierce monologues. What's worth is a worthless final fight. Van Damme smiles slyly on the sidelines.
Because of the swings in negotiations with the cast, the script was rewritten several times, but I think it did not take more than half an hour. After school, we used to make up stories like this every day, playing war in sand quarries and abandoned buildings: “You are bandits, we are liberators, and these hostages are gone.” The creators went the same way. We chose a place with ruins, somewhere in Bulgaria. Having crossed Afghanistan and Uzbekistan (so that no one would be offended), they called it the country of Uzbekistan, where words in Cyrillic, Soviet ZILs and tanks are naturally present. And in fact, it would be enough for this genre, if you add a little fantasy to the action scene. But they put their imagination in a different direction, for some reason thinking about the clash of generations and stuffing unnecessary young people. In fact, there and Statham is on the rights of birds.
I grew up with these guys, on re-recorded VHSs and re-painted posters, '90s action heroes were always a role model. They have already proved everything and everyone and have the right to fool around with old age, without any twisted intrigues, high morality, or deep drama. But they invited the wrong woman to dilute testosterone. After all, only a man without eggs can be worse than a woman with eggs.

Once again, veterans of the militants of the last century return to the screens of cinemas, and this time, with a company of young, almost no one, by the way, unknown actors. 'Expendables 3' ready to please us again with action and humor. But, to be honest, they did very poorly. Why? It's very simple. One of the main reasons for the weakness of the picture is the age rating, which deprived the viewer of blood, limb rupture and so on, what in the previous parts was abundant. And all because the creators wanted to expand the audience, or rather, shake money from children. As a result, they didn’t succeed, and the film’s collection is very upsetting, for the simple reason that one or three months before the film was released, the film was posted on the Internet, so most people have already watched it. So, did it make sense to downgrade from R to PG-13? The triquel did not get better from this, and the children, if they wanted, I think they would still go to this movie.
Of course, I won’t talk about the lack of logic in most of the dialogues, and in the scenario as a whole, but one mistake is worth noting. The fact is that the approach of the new director, Patrick Hughes (by the way, this is his first feature-length film), is not quite what this franchise needs. What do we expect from 'Unstoppable'? Shootout. Hands. Humor. Explosions. And in the previous parts of this was really a lot, for which, in fact, the movies and loved many. What do we see in the triquel? Drama. You won't believe it, but it is. Yes, it is possible to make the picture more serious, a good thought (though why, the idea was in a cheerful, cheerful action movie in the style of the 80s, 90s), but so much talk, so much unnecessary drama, and only three action scenes for two hours, as a result of which the beginning and middle of the film were very boring. And most importantly, the logic of these conversations is rather strange, especially Barney's rejection of his old team. Unfortunately, what we loved about the first two films, we got only in the second half of the picture, even a little later. All the funny moments were tied only to the character of Antonio Banderas, the typical hamstrings of Statham and Stallone are no longer so fun, due Lundgren and Lee is completely gone. Well, the scenes of the destruction of the enemy packs, as I said, there were only three, and to be honest, only the last one can compare with prequels, and then it lacks an R rating. And let's sum up that mistake with the dullest fight in the finale. Unfortunately, the fight between Sly and Gibson is no more than 2-3 minutes. I think for 'The Expendables' that's bad at least. It remains to be hoped that in the fourth part there will be an R rating, and we will see really what in English is called expendable.
As far as old men and newcomers are concerned, I was upset by some neglect of old heroes. Terry Cruze and Jet Lee were almost absent from the film, which is very sad. Schwartz was also not particularly pleased, but Ford, Banderas and Snipes perfectly decorated the film. And Gibson. If it weren’t for the shortest fight between two cool guys, he would probably be the best villain in the franchise. His character is really charismatic, crazy, and in general he played great. The same can not be said about the hero Banders, because only he made the whole room laugh. Well, the young irresistibles were not particularly impressed. In fact, I don't understand why they're needed. Of course, I don’t mean that they just came out of nowhere, the movie seems to make sense, although dubious, but what was the main idea of the franchise? Veterans kill crowds of enemies with sarcastic humor. Each actor has hundreds of films, world recognition and so on. Why do we need these young guys? Other than Kellan Lutz, no one knows for sure. Well, maybe Ronda Rousey is known by martial arts lovers, especially judo. Even according to the plot promised to us in the synopsis, they did not fulfill their task. We did not see this generational confrontation, but only two short conflicts, modern technologies. What does that mean? Four completely useless characters. Although Rousey and Lutz are great fights, shoot, ride motorcycles, but without them, the triquel would not lose anything.
But most importantly, for what, in fact, we go to action movies, special effects and action scenes (which I would like more), made with conscience. The explosions are beautiful, few shootings, although not distinguished by their former cruelty, but nevertheless quite cheerful, hand-to-hand fights (except the one about which above) are quite spectacular, especially with the participation of Ronda Rousey. In short, the visual part of the picture was performed perfectly.
To sum up, I wouldn’t say the movie is bad. It's definitely worse than the previous installments of the franchise. But nevertheless, despite the boring beginning, and the middle too, the ending turned out quite good, if you do not take into account the aforementioned several times the final fight, so you can watch, up to ' Transformers 4' Unstoppable is a long way off. It remains to be hoped that despite the obvious financial failure, the fourth film will still be, and it will be made in the spirit of prequels.

P.S. It turns out that there is a version of the film 18+. You better go see her.
I started watching Expendables 3 with a pretty big slap in my pocket. Well, after the thrashing that took place in the second part of the franchise, unfortunately, we did not have to expect a miracle. Again, failure at the box office, too, did not improve the situation.
... But, oddly enough, two hours passed very cheerful, and my review will be positive.
No, don't expect a standing ovation for brilliant directing, acting! “The Expendables” is rapidly becoming a series, an attraction for shaking dust, lubricating the details of the mechanisms that drive other titans of the VHS era. This is how it went on the one hand, so on the other hand commendable - because if the actor fell out of the clip in the current world of your megans of Fox and games of thrones - it does not mean that he belongs in a nursing home.
“The Expendables 3” is such a strong film of category B. He would not be released on DVD, but on VHS for entourage! (It’s a pity, the move is risky warm lamp views are rare now in use.) Stallone seems to have heeded his wishes not to roll the franchise into senility by continuing to promote Old Miller beer and troll Chuck Norris. No, in the new series of "Expendables" we see a cheerful action, simple as three pennies, but finished script, more or less staged battle scenes and a lot of pleasant actors.
Which we'll walk through. What did you want? This is a kaleidoscope - micro-theatres of one actor in one film.
1). Do you mind if I pronounce his surname that way? It is clear that Statham is not the simplest surname, but somehow everyone used to say it this way, and now it is like that. Hipsterism is the scourge of the nation, yes. So, this sweet couple stubbornly bend their line, their dialogue in the cockpit is some kind of stand-up (sitdown then) show. Joke, poke each other, throw knives, grenades and mutually help.
2). Terry Crews and Randy Couture. Another duet that has earned the love of viewers directly by playing in all three Expendables as opposed to Item 1. In the third part, they are predictably appropriate, and after the elimination of one of them you even begin to miss.
3). Dolph Lundgren once got very used to the role of Gunnar's drunkard. Hangover syndrome occurs in everyone in different ways, sometimes there is an acute reluctance to see anyone around, unwillingness to communicate, unwillingness to move at all. This is the case, yeah.
4). Arnold Schwarzenegger lived, alas, to the time when you notice him in passing. No one spares time, the only thing that now from the ex-Terminator can turn out a very HarActor Hemingway old man. Not a type? In general, the film is very good, although in the role of 2 plans.
5). Jet Lee. He said 2 sentences in the movie. It's beautiful.
6). Now for the recruit quartet. Kellan Lutz, Rhonda Rousey, Glen Powell and Victor Ortiz – of course, never roll against the honored grandfather, but very cheerful look on the screen, both when they fight and when they just communicate. You don’t want to be singled out, the game is even for everyone.
7). Now let's go through the new ones. Of course, Mel Gibson, who begged for Sly and Arnie initially. Here he appears as a charming master villain, who, unfortunately, due to the laws of the B-movie genre, does not give timekeeping. Sorry. But in the 2 hours offered to us, Gibson will be able to demonstrate, if possible, some of the traits of the character of ex-ally Barney Ross, and now a nuclear bomb speculator. Credit.
8). Wesley Snipes is the black gem of the project, just a diamond! Yeah, it was worth getting him out of jail in every sense of the word. By the way, the opening scene with the release of his hero from an armored train is perhaps the best battle scene in the whole picture. That's just a pity that Doc to the middle of the picture somehow talked out, and mostly beats villains, sweetening blows with strange interjections. But: 5+!
9). Antonio Banderas. He’s not the cold-blooded killer from the movie Killers, as you might think. All of a sudden, a cat from Shrek. Yes, you heard right, it is the comedic role in the company of brutal men - the move is controversial, but healthy, the atmosphere is discharged and his character does not bother.
10). Harrison Ford, who came to replace Bruce Willis, so shamelessly dependent on the dollar needle, perfectly drew the role of a CIA representative. Only 72 years, unfortunately, no makeup to hide. So I really, really want something to grow out of the Indiana Jones-5 thing. In The Expendables, Ford initially has a standard cabinet jacket, but at the end of the picture of his trout as a helicopter pilot show what, in fact, he is here for.
That's it.
The scenery of the mysterious country of Limonia this time, thank God, are not tied to the Soviet theme, borscht and Chernobyl, the soldiers of the enemy’s army are generally stylized for the Bundeswehr for some reason – so that Hollywood petrosianism on the theme Sovka is completely absent here, which cannot but rejoice.
Let me
Since I love the film Unstoppables 1 and 2, I did not avoid the third film.
Undoubtedly, the main advantage of the entire franchise “The Expendables” is that it literally revived the long-standing dream of all those people who grew up on the cult and eternal action films of the 90s, whose bright era alas has passed. I waited a long time for the third part of this picture and I thought it would be cooler than the other two parts.
For me, the film seemed so good in terms of action and actors. The story is not affected here as in the past. The most tragic thing for me was that this film was uploaded to the Internet 3 weeks before the premiere. This hit the collections very hard if the previous part collected 3 times more than this part because pirates of old people do not regret. Personally, I went out and looked. The second tragic news for me was that the rating of the film was PG-13. This upset me the most, if the previous parts seemed more cruel, more bloody, then there was no blood at all, and it drove me up.
Obviously, this movie wasn’t as good as the previous ones. After all, if the first film became a kind of nostalgic discovery, and the second became a concentration of humor and dynamics, then this film directed by Patrick Hughes is not trying to do something new and just follows the already trodden path. Nevertheless, almost a tiny number of visual effects on the screen and all this crazy spectacle in the face of numerous chases, shootouts, fights, explosions and destruction shot in the old-fashioned way can not but cause a sincere smile and notes of nostalgia for those films, the likeness of which is no longer removed.
As for the actors, all the same cheerful with taste guys are not in a hurry to retire. With each part of the film, there are more. For example Harrison Ford, Antonio Banderas, Wesley Snipes and Mel Gibson. For me, Banderas and Gibson were the most delighted actors in this film, but there were few of them in the film. There was still little in the film of Lundgren, Crews, Couture, Lee, and Schwartz. Only Stallone got the whole movie. No, I have a lot of respect for Sylvester Stallone and I love him as an actor and a person. But hell, if you make a film about the cool peppers of the 80s and 90s, then give them more time, and do not show them for 5-10 minutes and then go by the wayside. I think there were more of them in the past.
As for humor, it is not enough, there are no jokes here a lot, but they are for some reason banal. But Banderas amused me the most. He had a few jokes that I laughed at. Definitely one significant drawback of the picture catches the eye for sure. Against the background of such eminent actors, whose films have grown more than one generation of viewers, less eminent and younger actors who joined the composition are not remembered at all and throughout the tape look more like “cannon fodder” and elements of the background interior. In fact, as the plot of the picture, which has never been a strong side of such projects, but in this case is a little boring and sagging spectacle. Since not only that the creators of the tape act long-known stamps of the genre, but also not afraid to overthink the plot with an abundance of everything and everything. What makes you feel better when viewing the tape the most.
The music was good, although it was similar to the rest of the film, but it fit well. Even some tracks are not dropped by the phone.
No matter how bad the movie is for me, it’s not a bad attempt to go back to the 90s and remember those years. I think the second part is better.
8 out of 10
If the filmmakers want to make part 4, try it well. And please return the R-17 rating.
So Stallone and the company made their third attempt to regain their successful commercial name and show the master class to a new generation how to shoot the right action films. They just come back to the same “robbers.” It has become a tradition not to think about the plot or the simple meaning. If only to show themselves "good" against the background of weapons, explosions and chases.
The whole trilogy has long seen itself as a lifeline for forgotten old people. It seems there is a young Statham, but how not to take on the only actor in the genre of action movie; Schwarzenneger returned to the movies, only people no longer watch his films in theaters, and so tries to compete with the young; talented Gibson in Hollywood hate and shoot (to star in) a big movie do not give, so you have to loom in the Expendables and so on; Snipes has just been released from prison, and he wants to come back and hopes for a good return. Ford abruptly aged in life and in the movies after reincarnation in Indiana in 2008; Stallone seems to keep well and he didn’t care about all these raspberries and other “cinema slag”, but time is not to stop and sometimes you should come up with a brilliant ending in the movie, but not the role of Barney Ross. Of all these representatives of the “golden era” of militant heroes, only Banderos looks good. Spaniards, Spaniards! That's what they say!
Whatever you say, this “lawlessness of the old people” survived to the third part. And I should say thank you to Stallone for bringing a little bit of drama and pathos, and tried not to make old people "bloated clowns." The first half of the film goes back to where I used to see my favorite actors, and more or less fits into the action movie genre of the 1980s. But with the involvement of the “young but audacious” who completely spoiled the overall picture of the “pleasant madness in the Hollywood nursing home”, only questions arose to the filmmakers: how much did the agents of these “under-actors” pay you to allow their wards to be admitted to the Expendables? Why spoil the impression of watching your favorite heroes of childhood, who are not in the best shape and difficult stage of their career? Stallone wanted to rejuvenate the team of “the Expendables”, but from this in the second half of the film as a result, again “the plot porridge”. Guys, make a movie about yourself young, but do not imitate yourself young. It took your time, but don’t end up like “The Expendables.”
Their time is gone... on the internet. Watching The Expendables 3 took place before the official premiere and it looked like a return to the good old days, when I watched action movies with my favorite actors on videotapes.
Everyone grows old, but idols should not grow old in such films, where as a faint copy of themselves young. It smells like self-deception or the usual thirst for money.
5 out of 10
The third part of “The Expendables”, of course, is among the top five disappointments of this film season. Obviously, the franchise is betting on the nostalgia of a young viewer who pays money for a session to again plunge into the unforgettable atmosphere of the late 80s and 90s, when his favorite characters, although in our case aged, chop up all the villains around, cheerfully and with enthusiasm, while releasing their trademark jokes.
However, on the way out, we got a picture much more illogical and clumsy than its ancestors from the 80s, or you can loudly say, unworthy of its roots.
As arrogant as it sounds, the film is weak in everything from the script to the action scenes and atmosphere. Of the positive points, I would like to immediately note only Mel Gibson. For a long time he was not seen in new projects, especially in the role of a “cool” guy. Although screen time he had a gulkin nose, but in the couple of long scenes that he was assigned, he really pleased with his game and the image of his character. In fact, it turned out to be the only one who brings at least some animation to the screen and shakes up the stagnant action there.
The first film of the franchise really set the pace from the first frames and was the same strong action movie from the 80s, yes, with blunders, but with all its inherent advantages and disadvantages. The second part expanded the boundaries and scale, adding a huge spoonful of self-irony to its recipe, which inevitably led to a sprawling scale of "strengths and weaknesses." As for the third part, it took on the worst, both from its predecessors and from the genre as a whole. Absolutely everything that happens on the screen: dialogues, plot twists, “typical” scenes (recruiting a new team, for example) – as they say, a cliché on a cliche.
In addition to this, the film lost a lot in both charismatic and action component. To push the titans of the genre, for whom everything was planned, who set the tone for the entire franchise, to the background, significantly depriving them of screen time (except, perhaps, Stallone himself), in order to give way to the young, the move is both bold and stupid, given the composition of the young team. These guys are just as bad fighters as actors. Well, what can you expect from the vampire from Twilight, the UFC champion and others like them? The idea of pushing generations of "cool guys" together is a good idea if there are really "cool guys" among the actors on both sides. However, in this case, the budget would have grown to heaven. And while those who can “light on the screen” became incredibly few, and those on the screen, “light” is not able, the picture took a huge step back in terms of action. The same crumbs that still remained turned out to be terribly refined due to the softened rating. The situation is not saved by those on whom you can always rely, like Stetham, or those who decided to shake the old days, like Snipes and Banderas. The character of the latter and generally more annoying, although, as I understand, is entirely responsible in the picture for humor. But this humor can rather be called only a twist that almost 60-year-old Spaniard is not in the face, if he does not play the role of a cat in boots.
Summarizing all the terms, we get the complete absence of the former “dashing” atmosphere, which in itself was able to lift the mood. And if you add here the faded rock compositions of the 80s soundtrack, then in the dry residue we get the same militant class B, which usually break beyond home video is not destined.
In general, this is the way it is worth getting acquainted with, the goodness it could be done a month before the premiere.
P.S. I myself decided that it would not be fair for the idols of childhood not to vote in rubles for their work, so it is up to you to make my mistakes or not;

Four years ago, Stallone assembled an unstoppable team of only cool guys and made a film, fulfilling the dream of many, including myself. To see such actors as Schwarzenegger, Willis, Statham, Lundgren, Rourke, Roberts, Lee and, of course, the very Stallone was just happiness. Two years later, the second part was released, replenished with no less cool men: Van-Damm and Norris speak for themselves. Two years later, the Expendables 3 will come out, which, in fact, will be discussed. This time, the ranks were joined by Gibson, Ford, Banderas and Snipes. Every year it gets better, the pace is not slowing down, there are still many actors to invite, the same Jackie Chan who still can not look. So, all this was written to show how cool guys are filming here, and is there anything else you need, a person who grew up on the action movies of the 90s with the participation of these actors? Absolutely nothing. Their presence in the picture is the best there is. They are no longer young, but they are enjoying themselves as long as they can. This is the main plus of the film, for which it can already be put a decent assessment.
About the director Patrick Hughes, you can say that he worked well, but I did not see anything special. A standard action movie, all that was required. He's good, he's got a good company, I'd like that.
Again, I enjoyed the good humor in the film, but I think there were more jokes in the previous part. Special effects look great, fights, chases, shootouts - all this looks good. The only downside is that the rating is low, without blood is not the same. In a movie like this, it’s an essential ingredient. The music after the first part did not change much, but it still accompanied the film well.
The main role was again played by Sylvester Stallone and he still looks cool, in good shape and health. At 68, that's what anyone would wish. Jason Statham is also tough and brutal, he again showed possession of cold and firearms in full. Arnold Schwarzenegger with a large gun in a helicopter shoots everything in a row, nothing else is needed. Except I'll be back for the crown. The remaining old-timers from the first part of Dolph Lundgren, Jet Lee, Terry Crews and Randy Couture played well, neither better nor worse, only the text and screen time was less, the youth pushed. Of the young beginners, I liked Kellan Lutz the most, his character came out quite interesting. Ronda Rousey, Glen Powell and Victor Ortiz looked good, fought at the level. Well, for dessert, we will talk about the main plus of the third film, namely the appearance of Mel Gibson, Wesley Snipes, Harrison Ford and Antonio Banderas in it. Everyone played great, Snipes after serving looks cheerful, liked his confrontation with the hero Statham. Gibson in the role of a villain is good and charismatic, but, like many villains, stupid, as he contacted such a team. Ford replaced Willis, who requested a large fee, and replaced perfectly. And Banderas is amazing. He played great, his character was very liked, a chatty mercenary with his story who was able to have a lot of fun, if I honestly did not expect this from him. Here is the cast turned out, in the future it can replenish many more actors, which is enough for a dozen parts.
“The Expendables 3” is a bright, dynamic, explosive, spectacular, male and cool action movie with steel actors in the lead roles. His task, namely to entertain the viewer and well plunge him into nostalgia, he performs perfectly. I liked the film, as well as the previous parts, it reminds me of great old action movies, and when you look at how cool these guys are, but it’s a pity that this movie is not enough now, this generation leaves, a new one comes. As in the film, the youth replaced the old men, but they still returned to light. Hopefully there will be more Expendables 4 and Expendables 5 and so on as long as they can shoot and want to do it for us, bring in as many actors as possible and leave a memory behind. I love this movie and will watch it. In conclusion, we can say thank you to Stallone and his whole team for once again being pleased and allowed to play. I recommend everyone to watch.
In the game on the world market returned killed by the popular tycoon Stonebanks (Mel Gibson). Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) and his team receive a task from the security services to catch a fraudster. Without hesitation, "The Expendables" get to work.
It is no secret that the project “The Expendables” was created to popularize the actors who star in it. Stallone does not want the world to forget about the heroes of the 80s and 90s. As for the third part, it is impossible to talk about how much it turned out better or worse than the previous ones, because the plot is so banal and simple as in the previous parts that it seems that all this has already happened many times. I think they could all play themselves, why invent fictitious names? They ran, shot and dispersed.
This series, in my opinion, was saved by Antonio Banderas, who was involved in the project. In the frame with him, it was not boring for a second. The role is just perfect for him, it is pleasant when a person knows how to laugh at himself. Of the main cast, I only like Jason Statham, the rest are more muscle-powered than part. It was nice to see in the frame of Harrison Ford – a man of old school, who seemed a head above the rest of the game.
There's enough special effects in the movie. These are explosions, helicopter crashes, gunshots, and even a building that folds like a house of cards. There are some good music tracks. But the lack of a competent plot, all this, unfortunately, does not hide.
The fourth part is being prepared. In my opinion, this only helps to make actors good money, for the audience does not carry any special moral value. Standard fighters will not surprise anyone. I hope that I am wrong and Sylvester Stallone will come up with something really worthwhile, going to the next level. Because I feel like this year's Golden Raspberry script will be his. I wonder if Patrick Hughes - the director of the film could command the actors on the set? Everyone is probably in charge of it.
The unstoppable reminds me of Angie Football Club. While it shoots all the Hollywood stars of the past, it will be watched by millions around the world, as soon as they are not interested – the project will close by itself. I think that it is not necessary to go to the cinema for “The Expendables 3”, it is better to spend time usefully.
P.S. Who can explain the difference between a 12+ movie and 18+?!
6 out of 10
The recipe by which Stallone began riveting his Expendables four years ago was clear from the start. This is a Category B fighter whose “madness” is elevated to the absolute: completely schematic plots, a lot of loud shooting and explosions, old-fashioned fights and impenetrable cool heroes. The presence of such a large number of cult personas of the action genre in the framework of one film and became the main feature of the franchise, for the second part finally turned into a comedy action movie - uncontrollably stupid, but perfectly copes with lifting the mood. With the increase in the number of stars, the degree of insanity increased, but already in the sequel it was clear that more, in fact, Sly and Co. have nothing to say.
As long as you do not play on the nostalgic feelings of the viewer, but they need to be reinforced with something else. At least a sane story. What we have here: Mel Gibson, who portrays himself at the same time from Machete Kills (only with slightly less odious plans) and, it seems, Demi Moore from Charlie’s Angels is a kind of proto-unstoppable, who moved to the dark side of the Force; Stallone, who shaved for some reason (no, he really did), who rescues a Wesley Snipes, who looks like Will.I.Am, with better intentions, disbandons the old team, collects a new one of poorly shot salads, safely turns to her old comrades after the first fight. Then there's Jet Lee, who seems to have even less screen time here than in the sequel, some very awkward Schwarzenegger and a very, very, very old Harrison Ford, when you look at him, it becomes a little creepy for the seventh "Star Wars" - you already protect your grandfather there, if he still broke something. In the load there is a whole scatter of characters, of which it is perhaps worth highlighting only Antonio Banderas, who took on the functions of a chatty comic-relief, and on the one hand the situation is sometimes really discharged, but on the other hand - the last time it was so awkward for him only after the advertising of "Orbit". You're El Mariachi, Antonio, you really don't have to do that. Unwittingly, you begin to understand Jackie Chan, who has already repeatedly rejected Stallone’s offer to participate in this cabbage.
In general, according to the plan of writers and new director Patrick Hughes, all this should work as in the good old days, but the lack of fresh ideas, total convention and suddenly deliberate seriousness, reigning most of the time, cause nothing but a disparaging smile. With such a primitive plot, the characters manage to talk suspiciously much, long and detailed. There is nothing to talk about, but, apparently, this time it was decided by all truths and untruths to bring the timekeeping to two hours, but only the extra time was given not under action, but under empty talk and absolutely do not carry any semantic load scenes, like the episode with Gibson, buying a picture worth three million dollars at a certain secular rally. What, we need to know now that he's not only a murderer and an arms dealer, but also an aesthete and an art lover? He also trained his own mercenaries very well. Our boss was kidnapped and taken in a van over the bridge? So let's hit them with a grenade launcher!
Action is still cheerful, especially when it comes to fights, but there is something to find fault with. Let during the hand-to-hand scenes you can see that the fists of the fighting beat the air, and not the faces of each other, they are at least put pretty. But their "fight" tactics irresistible to change and do not think - to stand in one line and shoot from the hip, all the enemy bullets bounce off their coolness. What is quite sad, so it is with special effects: it seems that Stallone wrote out from the last century not only colleagues in the acting workshop, but also visual specialists - such a cheap CGI is completely unacceptable for a project with a considerable, presumably, budget.
No catastrophe has happened, this is a logical outcome for the franchise, the creators of which every time gather to arrange an interplayer - the viewer inevitably loses interest. Paradoxically, but the most interesting thing in the third “Expendables” is to observe that the young team, which consists entirely of nouneims, and the frontman of them is my “favorite” Kellan Lutz. Their approach is more thorough, and they try to joke clumsily less often. Stallone colleagues with a frequency of fifteen minutes repeat that it is time for them to retire, before something worse happens, but at the same time stubbornly do not want to leave the pedestal, which has long cracked and faded. In light of recent events, the future of the testosterone series is uncertain, and for now the best that the third part is capable of is to become a beer movie for one evening. Just make sure the beer is fresh.
