Born on December 3, 1904 in Ahamdika, Georgia, actress, Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1935).
One of the most famous episodes of Soviet cinema of the 40-60s, a leading actress of pre-war cinema.
In 1924-1926 she studied at the Leningrad College of Screen Art. In 1937-1940 she was an actress at the Baltflot Theatre. In 1945-1960 – in the theater-studio of the actor.
Tatiana Guretskaya debuted quite successfully, not yet being a professional actress. At the age of 19, she played the episodic role of a peasant girl in the film “Village at the Turning Point”, after which she entered the College of Screen Art and began to work a lot in cinema: “Brother” (conductor), “Turbine No. 3” (Maria), “Order for Life” (Vera), “Whirlpool” (Lyubash), “The Right to Life” (Ksana Guseva), “The Mutiny” (Naya Furmanova), “Turture” (Dasha). In the 30s, Guretskaya starred in such epochal films, but, as it often happened in the movies, after the war, when the actress was already over forty, she was almost forgotten.
Guretskaya played interesting roles in the theater-studio of the actor and starred only in episodes. The heroines of Guretskaya are ladies with manners, emphasized strict and cold.
The last twenty years of her life, Tatiana Guretskaya was never remembered.
She passed away on 19.08.1983
