Tatiana Kirillovna Okunevskaya was born on March 3, 1914 in Moscow. After graduation, she worked as a courier in the People's Commissariat of Commerce, in the evenings studying draftsmen's courses. Then she entered the architectural institute. One day a young student was offered to act in a movie, and she agreed. The role, however, was very small, but was a step to luck - in 1934, aspiring director Mikhail Romm invited Tatiana Okunevskaya to the role of the young wife of the manufacturer Carre-Lamadon in his film "Dump", in which Ranevskaya, Repnin, Mezintsev were also engaged. The film was an unexpected success and was recognized as one of the best adaptations of foreign literature in silent cinema. And Okunevskaya noticed, and soon she was offered the main role in the film “Hot Days” (1935), after the release of which the young actress took the famous director Nikolai Okhlopkov to his Realist Theater. In May Night (1940) by Nikolai Sadkovich, she played Pannochka.
In 1938, Tatiana Okunevskaya married the writer Boris Gorbatov, and among the fans were Leonid Lukov, Emil Gilels, Mikhail Svetlov, Josip Broz Tito. And not only them, but also more sinister figures - Lavrenty Beria and Viktor Abakumov. The latter and “made sure” that rejected his daughter “enemy of the people” (Okunevskaya’s father, as a former White Guard, was arrested in 1937) was behind bars. She was released in 1954, but neither her personal life nor further work in the cinema worked out, although in 1956 she played in the film The Night Patrol.
The last film with the actress, "Principled and pityful look", was released in 1995.
