The school of life of actor Yuri Konstantinovich Stepanov (07.06.1967-03.03.2010) was labor and useful: he, a native of the hinterland of the Irkutsk region, as a child, was on taiga fishing and hunting, knew firsthand about the profession of livestock breeder, beekeeper, builder. Perhaps, if Yuri obeyed his parents and became a hunter, Russian viewers lost the opportunity to see this talented artist on the screen, but Stepanov turned out to be a guy with a character and decidedly went to the theater.

Having become students of the Irkutsk Theatre School, Yuri did not give himself a rose: he worked, while studying, as a mason, carpenter, tractor driver. His father looked at the passion of the offspring condescendingly: let him study, then it will come to a serious profession. But Yuri, having received a diploma in Irkutsk, went to Moscow to study at GITIS under Peter Naumovich Fomenko.
In the theater of his teacher, already becoming a professional actor, Stepanov soon honed his skills so much that the audience came to see plays with his participation. Yuri Konstantinovich chose for himself the role of a comedian, his talent was revealed in brilliant improvisations.
When Stepanov was first offered to play in a movie, the actor began a state of internal “breaking” – the set seemed to him something unthinkable, an attribute of antitheatrical art. But after the opportunity to live in two takes, a certain state that his character feels seemed tempting. As a result, Stepanov became a cinematic artist, and good pictures with his participation were released.

On his last and tragic evening, Yuri Konstantinovich was driving home in a passing car VAZ-2104 and became a victim of an accident: at the crossroads, while the car stood waiting for a green traffic light, a Mazda crashed into it. The VAZ-2104 was thrown into the oncoming lane, where it collided with another car. Stepanov died on the spot, leaving his pregnant wife and two adult sons. /
