The historical film “Henry VIII” (Henry VIII) is another film version of the story about the life of the king of England, who ruled in the 16th century.
Henry VIII was in power for 38 years. The main reform carried out by Henry was the rejection of the submission of the English Church to the Pope, as a result of which an independent Anglican Church appeared. Opponents of Henry’s rejection of Catholicism argued that it was because the pope did not allow him to divorce his first wife. Indeed, an independent English bishop was appointed, who gave the go-ahead for divorce. But it is unlikely that the king of England needed anyone’s official permission, he had 6 wives, and a couple of times, without resorting to the formalities of divorce, executed his wives, thereby paving the way for the next wedding.
The role of the king in the film "Henry VIII" was played by Ray Winston ( "The Departed". close
