The actors... are somehow predictable. Well, DiCaprio's character - already from the results of his conversation in the hospital doctors somewhere at the beginning of the film, it is clear that he is mentally unstable. And the psychiatrist conducting the experiment on the island — on his intellectual-dissident face, as it were written “positive character” in huge letters. In general, everything is expressive, but sometimes not in moderation.
As for the plot - the main thing is quite dragged. “Island of the Damned” is not the deepest embodiment of this plot, but it is far from the worst.
The main question that remained in my head is why the main character considers himself a monster. In fact, his action was almost self-defense, and certainly for all his cruelty, completely fair and natural. Maybe he hides his weakness, knowing that he can not find the strength to live on? It's a shame for him.
Bottom line: a good, gloomy-psychedelic, atmospheric thriller.
