Bruno was born into an Italian family and a Swiss worker. He had the opportunity to study at the theater and music school of Zurich. Gantz is one of the leading figures in contemporary cinema and theatre in Europe. Bruno decided to become an actor when he became a university student. He was equally interested in the screen and stage, but initially he was able to achieve significant success in the theater.
In 1960, at the age of nineteen, Gantz performed his debut role in the film “The gentleman in the black bowler”. Despite the support of actor Gustav Knuth, his debut in cinema was not successful, and only a few years later his film career began to move from a dead point. Bruno made his theater debut a year later and began to devote himself mainly to the stage.
In 1970, Gantz participated in the creation of the Berliner Schaubune, and a couple of years later he performed at the festival in Salzburg during the premiere of the play, based on the work of the Ignorant and the Madman directed by Klaus Peiman.
