Kenny Baker was born on 24 August 1934 in Birmingham, England. Fame for this short-lived actor (only 3 feet and 8 inches, or 112 cm) brought the fantastic saga of George Lucas “Star Wars”. Before trying on the R2-D2 robot suit, he performed in nightclubs with Jack Purvis. In addition to participating in episodes of the series “Star Wars”, Kenny Baker appeared in such films as “The Elephant Man” (1980), “Time Bandits” (1981), “Mona Lisa” (1988), and also starred in “Amadeus” by Milos Forman – as one of the actors in the comic opera Mozart. Since 1997, Baker has performed on his comedy show.
