Herbert George Wells is known as a wonderful science fiction writer. Although his pen belongs to historical stories and novels about contemporaries. But primarily for the whole world, Wells is the author of “The Invisible Man”, “War of the Worlds” and other fantastic stories.
Herbert Wells was born in Bromley, a suburb of London. My father was a gardener, a cricketer, a small shop owner. My mother worked as a maid in rich homes. There was no special wealth in the Wells family, as there was no peace between parents. Left to himself, the boy was often in the world of his fantasies. Herbert graduated from school and college at the University of London. He changed several professions: he was a teacher at school, worked in a pharmacy. His first pen samples were published in the London press. The successes in journalism allowed the young Wells to leave his teaching career and do what he liked more - to write. He becomes a freelance journalist, and soon begins to write short stories and short stories.
His first known work was The Time Machine. Published in 1895, it immediately attracted attention and made the author famous. Then came the “Island of Dr. Moreau”, “Invisible Man”, “War of the Worlds”, “First Men on the Moon”. In total, H.G. Wells wrote more than 40 novels, not counting philosophical, historical works, works of the small-format genre. Wells was an optimist and believed that science would lead humanity to a brighter future. His most important work was the philosophical work Work, Wealth and Happiness of Humanity. He called himself “a socialist, not a Marxist.”
Herbert Wells traveled the world a lot, was married twice, believed that life was a success. He died in London shortly after the end of World War II. /
