The franchise "Transformers" instantly became a household name, synonymous with tasteless, overly expensive and stupid attraction. In principle, the dialogue in the picture is really far from Shakespearean – I will not argue with this, but otherwise the first film turned out quite decent.
Michael Bay filmed a spectacular story about the war between two groups of giant robots in contrast to classic American militarism and teenage comedy. The film completely lacks an actual “agenda”, before us a project created with the sole purpose of entertaining the viewer (and selling toys from Hasbro, of course, but we are talking about a self-sufficient work).
Josh Duhamel and John Voight are delightfully authentic in the image of the military, I was also pleasantly surprised by the selection of secondary actors, for example – the “chief negro” here plays Tyrese Gibson, familiar to you in the franchise “Fast and Furious”. In this context, the final battle somewhat did not live up to expectations, but it is compensated by the character of John Turturro, light background humor and an excellent soundtrack.
Young and seductive Megan Fox combined with Rachel Taylor – frankly, the coveted “gift” for teenagers. In fact, I first watched the film in the summer of 2007, when I was 14 years old and, perhaps, the term “cool” most accurately describes my impressions of watching. Today, however, what is happening on the screen does not cause such delight, but I still do not see serious reasons for criticism in the format of a teenage summer blockbuster.

P.S. Please note that as a backstory to the film, the animated comic book Transformers: Beginnings was officially released.
“Transformers” is a film that returns the viewer to his childhood, and this, of course, is his merit. Directed by Michael Bay, this fantastic action is based on the popular toy and animated series of the 80s. Perhaps this circumstance played a key role in the attractiveness of the film for many viewers.
From the start, Transformers offers rich action and impressive special effects that certainly create an atmosphere of dynamism and unpredictability. Visual transformations of robots, as well as sound accompaniment add bright and impressive moments to the film. However, despite all the visual diversity, it is worth admitting that the level of the plot and the development of the characters cause certain doubts.
The script, written by Roberto Orsi and Alex Kurtzman, is relatively simple and predictable. During the viewing, it becomes clear that the plot is built around standard schemes and clichés, which can reduce the interest for more demanding viewers. Also, the development of the characters seems not deep enough and their motives remain superficial, which can reduce emotional involvement.
Despite some drawbacks, Transformers deserves credit for possessing a strong ‘retro’ factor that takes viewers back to childhood when playing with transforming robots was a real treat. This is one of those movies that you can enjoy with friends, discussing favorite characters and discussing exciting fights between the characters.
As a result, Transformers is undoubtedly an entertaining film that is well suited for evening viewing if you want to plunge into the world of mechanical robots and childhood memories. It may not appeal to everyone because of some script flaws, but at the same time has the ability to return the viewer to pleasant childhood times and become a source of nostalgic emotions.
After watching the frankly weak “Beastbots” I decided to return to the classics to answer the question: maybe the first “Transformers” are not as good as I remember, and those vivid impressions were caused only by the effect of novelty?
And, you know, no! The film has passed the test of time and still looks very good. Not least because there are memorable characters among humans, and the film doesn't get tedious as soon as the giant robots stop crumbled. Shia LaBeouf as Sam Whitwicky - as infused. Megan Fox has a very passable and standard character, the included film only to fulfill the dream of teenagers (the main audience of the film) that the first beauty of the school can bite on the most undescript nerd. The chemistry between her and LaBeouf is zero, but she's definitely happy, and she probably doesn't need more. Sam's parents are very colorful, there is a memorable John Turturro. Military and homegrown spies, of course, are given much more time than it would cost, well, no one is trying to say that the film is perfect.
The transformers themselves came out memorable and - oh miracle! - they can even be distinguished. Optimus Prime is not yet infuriated by its impeccability and correctness, Bumblebee has not yet had time to catch up, the battles of the Autobots with the Decepticons are very cheerful and spectacular (hereinafter, the operator would stop frantically shaking the camera and taking insanely close-up plans at such moments - and it would be even better).
The film, as I said, selects the target audience of teenagers, but will be interesting to a much larger layer of people. I remember when I went to the cinema, I had a very good place in the auditorium. Not only from the point of view of the viewer, but also from the point of view of the observer: on the right - a boy of 5-6 years with an older brother, on the left through one chair - a middle-aged woman with a man, on the front - young people from 18 to 25 years. The most violent interest in the film aroused the boy, but only in the first hours and a half. If at first he kneeled on the chair, folded his arms like a machine gun and fired at the evil Decepticons, hiding behind the back of the chair in front of them during their shots, then clearly lost most of the interest, getting the older brother sitting next to him: “Is this bad or good?” Is that ours or not ours? When will this be over? The woman, as far as I could see, did not look away, but did not feel any special emotions. But the young people pulled away in full, enthusiastically fading during fights and laughing amicably to jokes in response.
By the way, the question "Is this ours or not ours?" sometimes visited me. Despite the fact that half of the autobots were painted in bright colors, and the decepticons, as a selection, are dark gray and black, during the fights (half of which, I remind you, is shot VERY close-up) you do not immediately understand who mutuates whom.
That's how it was, the first film of the franchise - not without flaws, but spectacular, memorable, giving a sense of globality of what is happening, and sometimes - a real children's delight.

Over the years, Transformers has become a household word. They, for some reason, are very fond of throwing themselves into arguments about “good and smart cinema not for everyone, which makes you think so” and “bad popcorn cinema for fools”, defining it, of course, in the second category. However, in recent years, Transformers are remembered less often: in such disputes they were replaced by films Marvel and DC, but the memory of Transformers is still alive. In this regard, we should not forget that all the same Transformers are genre movies, with their own laws, their tasks and their own methods of emotional influence. And, of course, to say that it is bad only because of it is unfair. Contemporary, so-called “author’s cinema”, like some Lanthimos or Aronofsky, has also long turned into an established genre, with its own templates and hackneyed plots. Include any such film: in it you will find the bloody organs of some animal, which show close-ups to classical music, references to biblical plots, a bunch of sexual disorders, long gone on anti-scientific retirement schizoid psychoanalysis and a bunch of known only to the mother of the director references to his childhood. In the end, you won't understand anything. But not because you are stupid and you are not destined to fall into the category of “not like everyone else”, but because there is nothing to understand: as a rule, it is just the exhausted conceit of the director who did not understand what he shot. Critics, meanwhile, write laudatory reviews about one, but in the end about completely different films, because none of them realized what he made. And stunned presenters at film festivals with a smart look present the director with an award, although they also did not understand what he shot. Such “author’s” cinema has long ceased to be truly author’s – and not because the film language is “end” and there are no new means of expression, but because we live in a time when such a film has become less popular. Modern man no longer needs complex symbols, endless digging into the human psyche and modernist techniques. He needs a new sincerity, simplicity, a sense of unity and deep emotionality. Of course, I do not want to say that this was not the case in classical auteur cinema, but it was aimed, as a rule, at the public, among which the then fashionable psychoanalysis of Lacan, Camus’ existentialism and Derrida’s deconstruction were very popular. Many films of that era were designed to storm minds rather than hearts. Modern authors are trying to continue the tradition of such “smart” cinema, giving it a new form, but does the modern viewer need it? I can’t speak for everyone, but I personally can’t. I want to watch movies that inspire, bring hope, bring people together and touch the heart. Films that tell about great feats, extraordinary personalities, victories and defeats, personal tragedies and sincere love. Is it because I can't understand and master smart movies? No, because all these fashionable intellectual currents are temporary, and human feelings, art and feats are eternal. And today, when we read Freud, Nietzsche, Lacan, Derrida, Marx, made a bunch of films based on their works and wrote a bunch of books, did we learn something about ourselves? Not really. We didn't become other people. We still need loved ones, communication, love and recognition. Fear and duty, honor and cowardice, confidence and doubt, despair and hope still struggle within us. And those who know the Myth of Sisyphus by heart and those who last read Kolobka in elementary school. Today, I see much more potential in genre cinema than in “author’s”: it can captivate, inspire and excite people, and the directors who make it can use their own author’s techniques to make it unique.
These were the first Transformers of Michael Bay. Yes, the author’s methods of Bey here are exclusively visual and do not carry a semantic load, Transformers is rather a purely genre movie with a clear linear plot and characters, a lot of special effects and shot solely for the entertainment of the audience. But it has an extraordinary charm that has not aged or dissipated for 17 years. This is the charm of the American town of zero, when Americans have not finally lost their minds and loved family, exhausted beer and football more than non-standard neighbors in thongs. This is the charm of timid romance of very young characters Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox. This is the charm of huge robots with a human soul grieving for lost comrades, hoping for a bright future and finding a new home. This is the charm of stunning prairies, rocks, lonely trees over a cliff and other beauties of American nature, which are filmed in the author’s sun-orange color Bey. It's an awesome yellow Camaro with black stripes - the dream of all men of any age. These are cool action scenes full of drive and impressions.
Transformers is a film about teenagers. And it's filmed as if it were filmed by a teenager: the main character Shia LaBeouf - all the time rushing forward, then on the car, then on the bike, then just running - he never stops. He sells junk because he wants a cool car to drive a girl. He goes with a friend to the lake and he climbs up a tree to “look at the guys.” He is punished by his parents, with whom he builds a touching relationship. As the main character said about himself, "I'm sweaty and dirty - that's normal for a teenager." These words are wonderfully chosen and emphasize how full Sam is of life. And the humor here is quite teenage, but funny, simple and folk: about doughnut-eating African-Americans, and about dumb-headed rockers-footballers and about all that, teenage, that happened to everyone. Each time it’s an immersion in endless youth, in the story of innocent young romance that begins when a beloved girl gets into your car towards the unknown future you will meet together. And each time this story ends with hope and life What I've Done Linkin Park. That was the case when I first saw the film when I was a kid, and now I see it 17 years later. And every time I find myself in the midst of a blooming early summer: the summer of eternal youth.
Two thousand seven. Megan Fox, as always, insanely hot, Shia LaBeouf is not completely crazy, and from each iron plays Linkin Park. It was then that Michael Bay, until finally mired in an explosive routine, released the first Transformers, who literally divide the niche of fantastic blockbusters into before and after.
I don’t think we should go too deep into the story. Firstly, everyone already knows him, and secondly, he does not offer anything special. The story of how our long-suffering Earth becomes a place of disassembly of alien machines, and in the center of this butt is a simple guy Sam, who was lucky to have his own transformer-autobot.
The narrative of Transformers is very light, not overloaded with unnecessary details or secondary plots. At the same time, the film is very rich, it contains various characters, events, fights, but thanks to the high dynamics, the tape is swept in one breath. Humor also plays an important role. Transformers are actually full of jokes, and, it should be noted, very good and appropriate. Humor helps the narrative to relieve the degree of tension at the right moments, so that the battles of giant robots do not look too serious.
“Transformers” still look great, a beautiful production, a color core, on which you can distinguish Bay’s films without much difficulty. Even with the graphics, it’s safe to say “before it was better.” The slaps that robots exchange are felt directly through the screen, and during joint scenes with people you do not even think that people communicate with the graphon. Here it is, the quality of the late zero, when the green screen was greener.
To sum up, the first Transformers is a reference fantastic blockbuster, which has everything you need for a representative of the genre. Dynamics, pathos, humor, action, even the characters, in general, are not bad. So definitely watch.
The decline of American blockbusters begins here in 2007. Namely, with "Transformers", which shot a real favorite of fans of caustic criticism - Michael Bay. Known for his strong character and equally strong whims, Bay always wanted to make films with an adult age rating, but he was offered some transformers. How he was persuaded then is a question, of course, interesting, but even more interesting is that “Transformers” convincingly showed a decrease in the bar of audience requests for the quality of blockbusters. The abundance of computer graphics and the almost complete absence of a normal script are still a scourge for many blockbusters from cowboy country.
What do we remember about Transformers? First of all, the maximum contrast of the image is Bay has always loved. It comes to the fact that human characters skin becomes shiny and orange. Apparently, the director does not like the ordinary gray world. Secondly, the maximum detail of the transformers themselves, which exceeds all conceivable requirements. In many frames, fragments, plates and all sorts of cogs strongly cut the eyes , which cannot but anger. It is noteworthy that blockbster directors often rush from extreme to extreme: in 2013, the Pacific Rim, on the contrary, will seem too cartoonish. The golden mean is usually reached by those who can not boast of any success at the box office. Third, a huge number of explosions – another love Bay, which with each tape becomes stronger and stronger. For explosions, however, the director can only be praised, because in most cases they are real, non-computer. What hum stood all the time on the set – you can only guess.
And fourth, passing all permissible norms vulgarity. Bay apparently wasn’t told that transformers were a product designed primarily for children, or he wouldn’t want to make a movie like that. Extremely awkward conversations with third parties about sex and with parents about masturbation cause Spanish shame, only for some reason not the director, but the audience. The feeling was that Bay wanted to make fun of those who thought it was in his head to invite him to such a movie. As a result, the director’s laughter probably turned into a shock, since the film paid off perfectly at the box office and became an excuse to immediately start the sequel. But it will be in two years, and so far the scale of the success of the first part has achieved such success that it gave rise to all sorts of parodies (including from the studio Asylum), and the over-the-top vulgarity was mentioned even in advertising on Russian TV. Such things.
But what about the transformers themselves? Apart from the inflection with grainy detailing, they look perfect, and this is the main advantage of Bay's film. After watching the movie, many viewers probably walked around hoping to see in real life how ordinary cars turn into alien robots. Who from somewhere know what Earth transport looks like... Now such a plot hole does not want to be surprised, since such blunders have become the norm not only for Transformers, but also for Fast and Furious and all kinds of superheroes, which, after Transformers, quickly dragged American cinema to almost the bottom. But in 2007, the shock was decent: a stupid, vulgar and sometimes illogical film became almost a box office record holder. I would like to know what awaits us in 2019.
In terms of art, this expensive film is really one of the first. Not from the beginning, but from the end. Subsequent sequels just as stubbornly rushed into "leaders."

Eh, zero movies... There's a kind of lamp atmosphere in the movies of that time, I mean it. Watch any, even a mediocre movie from there, you will find a lot of good things in them. I don't know how this is achieved... A color filter, a game of actors, whose soul was invested in the films of that time? Or maybe it's just nostalgia for childhood? I don't know. But the fact is that even then bad films feel much better than the current ones, they do not vomit you.
The same can be said about the film I am currently reviewing: Transformers. This movie is iconic for me, and it was because of it that I started watching the rest of the fiction and essentially learned about the existence of the Transformer universe. He’s on my list with the monster corporation, Spider-Man 2, the prisoner of Askaban, pirates of the Caribbean, Shrek – films that I’ll always include if I want to have a nostalgic evening.
When he first came out, I was seven years old. Seven! And even after reviewing this movie at 20, I still think it’s not bad, even though I don’t like the same recent Marvel movies (other than coming home, the Guardians of the Galaxy and Infinity War).
There's something about him... But what? Let's find out.
Characters: All of them are remembered in one way or another due to their acting, charisma. I really liked Simmons in the performance of John Turturro quite a comic character. In this film, even Megan Fox is exactly what she plays, and in no way in the Turtles-ninja of 2014 she is stupid.
Soundtrack: Oh, that's something. The soundtrack in this film adds to the atmosphere. The moment with Arrival to Earth is firmly imprinted in memory, really better than Armageddon. Those who picked up the soundtrack for the credits are just handsome, thank you for What I've Done and This Moment (played for the whole apartment in 2007).
Plot: Here. That's why I like it so much, because it revolves around a teenager who bought a car and it turned out to be a robot. There is something so naive, childish and fabulous about it. And let it be interrupted by awkward jokes about masturbation. Let me. It still feels good, thank you Stephen for that.
It’s still a good movie, you can watch it and enjoy it like Bumblebee. I love it: I love the soundtrack, the sound, the light, the action, the fight of robots against other robots. And let it be a lot of disadvantages, do not care, I am ready for the sake of the above to put a high assessment.

The film is impressively spectacular. Don't take it away. You understand this when you catch yourself on the fact that without any 3D you involuntarily try to evade a shot from a colossal transformer gun, although you realize that there is no point in evading such a shot. It's actually a movie. Not even 3D.
However, I didn’t like the film as a work of art. And first of all, it is not a movie, but the idea of a huge humanoid robot that can turn into a tank or an expensive car. What's the point? To hide from people? And why and why did they have such a property at all where they actually appeared on the Light? Why is this skill so important in the transformational techno-evolution? The answer to all these questions is banal and cleverly illustrated in the old Tom Hanks movie The Big 1988: it’s interesting when a robot turns into something mobile. Yeah, it's really interesting. I guess. But must there be some sense in this fiction? Or not?
All right. The interesting idea of how a combat robot turns into non-combat/combat equipment and back again is one thing. But why is there nothing interesting about the story itself? There is no intrigue, conflict, or confrontation of lifestyles, ideas, values. There's only shootings and chases. There are two batches of robots that can turn into some other technique. The good in peace, the bad in the military. Between them there is a long-standing civil war, the cause of which will be a little clear only if you watch the ancient animated series. But if a film is an independent work of art, shouldn’t it be understood in its own right? And make sense? It's true what I mean.
Okay, okay, no ideas, no interesting conflict, but there's a spectacle. There’s another one, and that’s where I started. But let us judge impartially. In the film there are unusual robots with their extraordinary history and unusual properties, there is a sexually attractive girl (SPD), there are stupid victorious American military (TPAV) and there they bumped a bunch of some worthless characters, including the Glavhero, who prevent TPAV and SPD from looking beautiful on the screen in the context of these, trance, sorry, shapes. Some kind of spectacle with a trailer turns out, or rather, with a useless pendant from the main character, his family, his story, why are they all there, including Grandpa? Is the main contraceptive ... yes, Decepticon, of course, and would not have found?
If we are talking about the spectacle, was it not better to immediately start the film adaptation of MEHA anime? Megan Fox would look great in the role of the pilot Prime, if she dressed in a beautiful jumpsuit with a neckline and no pants. Beautiful TPAV could not disappear from the frame, running, shooting, climbing on armor and saying the right expressive phrases. And none of these here and there and the wheelbarrows-hooks - only a spectacle.
P.S.
The most interesting thing, as it turned out, was to watch the first “Transformers” for the second time, after watching everything, right up to “Transformers: The Last Knight”. No, the plot does not appear, the conflict does not manifest itself, there were no ideas either, but the periodically arising thought is amusing: after all, all these primers and contraceptives ... decepticons, yes, really think that they are such an unusually unique phenomenon for the Earth.
A simple plot with somewhat hyperbolized characters. Periodically dull heroes. But all the shortcomings pale in the background of the battle of giant robots. Spectacularity also masks some of the flaws of the graphics. Overall, a decent start to the series is desirous of seeing a sequel.
The purest water is the so-called “summer blockbuster” in the spirit of Spielberg’s “Contacts of the third degree”. It is not for nothing that the eminent director subscribed to Transformers, a colorful and juicy film about biorobots from other worlds. If you throw aside all the prejudices and repeat under your nose that “it’s just fiction, American fiction”, then it turns out not so bad.
Sam Whitwicky, a teenager, is preoccupied with the standard needs of his age - a personal car and a woman's caress. Due to his own uniqueness, the guy gets both. And, according to the canon, the same extraordinary - the car turns out to be a reasonable organism, and the woman is a glamorous proshmandovka, ready to jump into any driver's cabin for the sake of a pathosy wheelbarrow. Speaking of wheelbarrows, it is not known how much money was paid by Chevrolet manufacturers, but the PR campaign turned out to be noble (what, and the Yankees know how to serve beautifully).
Explosions, chases, fights not for life but for death, supported by a blurred local mythology, all this creates what was created. Money. Not wanting to drown in moral research and love for art, we can say that “Transformers” is a beautiful example of “Cinema Fast Food” & #39; Combat stealth action, Megan Fox on the background and a couple of ' black' jokes create a fleeting product, shy to back it up with characters, at least some realism and a less stable plot. In defense, it is worth mentioning the magnificent graphics (the guys from ILM did really hard work) with an equally high-quality soundtrack. Whether it is or not, that is the question.

After enthusiastic reviews of others, he tried to understand what was so attractive there. But I never found anything interesting for myself. Some kind of anti-scientific and illogical nonsense. And then there was Transformers on TV (literally yesterday), and I remembered why this movie is so loved by me. And while the memories are fresh, I decided to write.
To begin with, Transformers are not fiction. At all. Those who are fond of fiction, read fantastic works, will easily agree with me. After all, the main thing that is the basis of any fantastic work is either a thoughtful, worked-out world, or any situation or event that is scientifically and logically calculated and presented. Hence, there is good fiction, where the science fiction writer worked out his created world to the smallest detail, made it interesting, recognizable and unique. And poor-quality, passing fiction, where a series of events comes to the fore, but the universe is, it exists, but is presented sparsely and crumpled, and the emphasis in the work is made on another. But the main thing is that no science fiction writer, no author dares to do. He will never go against science and logic. And if the usual logic for us is broken, then it will be explained why it is not so. Probably from a scientific point of view. And it does not matter what kind of fiction it is: futurism, socio-ethical, political ...
As for Transformers, this is not a fantasy. There is no world for the development of action. And the main thing is the lack of logic, and the constant blatant mockery of technology and science. Even the worst fiction can’t afford it.
I understand, of course, that Transformers was based on a series of comics and animated series. I'm willing to accept it. Well, of course, what a logic to constantly transform from one uncomfortable shape to another uncomfortable shape. Is it possible to become something less than optimal? If you weren't Optimus Prime, after all. No way. This is a children's cartoon, a comic book for primary school age moved to the big screen. You can do that. I agree.
But what kills me is the dialogues that try to give scientific and technical significance to this story.
Tell us about this virus.
- Spider-type virus. We don’t know exactly what it’s doing, but it could destroy the system.
...
Every time we launch an antivirus, it adapts and speeds up the action.
Acts like he's not a virus anymore. It's like he's part of the system.
- This is obviously the first stage of the war against America.
Obviously. Although, if the best minds in the United States do have these brains, they can be conquered with slingshots. Spider-type virus. I beg you. We don't know what he's doing, but he could destroy the system. What system? What do you mean? And how can you know what he can do if you don't know what he's doing? And if he became part of the system, why would he try to destroy the system? A virus with suicidal tendencies? It's like shooting yourself. Well, you can not talk about antivirus at all. An antivirus is a program that is written by programmers to neutralize a specific virus. You cannot run a magic program on any virus that will cure everything.
They broke into your defense in 10 seconds. Even a supercomputer would take twenty years to do that. Look at this. The signal is learning. Evolving. And this is already more complicated than the Fourier transformation, the level of the equations of quantum mechanics.
- There is no such thing on earth.
- And the body? A living organism? Maybe some kind of DNA-based computer?
Did your brain explode? I do. If you don't understand what I'm talking about, I can explain. For starters, it is impossible to break the security in ten seconds, because a person is hacking. And no supercomputer can help him. It's not a simple password brute. It does not matter whether the supercomputer is hacked or the calculator. Secondly, hacking is primarily a search for a system to hack. It's not easy to find the target. If you did find the Pentagon server, then it is not a fact that it is on it that the information you are interested in lies. You don't think there's only one server in the Pentagon. And if information is important, it's usually distributed. This means that it is broken down and stored on multiple servers. Reading one part without others is impossible. But the main thing is to find vulnerabilities in the server. Each server has a unique configuration and device. Everyone needs to find their own hole. And it's only done manually. So it takes months or even years. But finding vulnerability is not enough. The main thing is to take advantage of it. A special program is being developed for this purpose. Of course, there are no standard paths, and a unique program is created for each server. Of course, only human. The supercomputer was dealt with. I think everyone understood that he was not mentioned here.
Then more. You understand the self-learning signal. In general, the property of self-learning speaks of the intellectuality of the object. The only problem is that a signal cannot be an object, since a signal is a term that defines the characteristics of a quantity. Don't you understand? Let me explain. This is a term that defines a regular change in a physical quantity. For example, a decrease in temperature can be perceived as a signal. Now imagine that we are saying that lowering the temperature has now learned something new. And, of course, it must be said that it is more difficult than Fourier transformation. By the way, the Fourier transform is a standard mathematical transformation with many solutions. And nothing complicated in the end. Well, it's like telling a tenth grader that "it" is much harder than solving an X problem. For him, such tasks cannot seem difficult in principle. We can almost talk about the equations of quantum mechanics. I think everyone understands that they're not in the right place. Yes, of course, quantum mechanics is a large branch of physics, in which many dependencies are defined, which are presented in the form of equations, but they are absolutely understandable to a competent person and cannot be compared with mathematical methods and the concept of a signal. A DNA-based computer is nonsense. DNA is a deoxyribonucleic acid. A molecule. A computer is a device.
If you don’t understand my point, let me translate a quote from the film into humanitarian language. Ready?
They opened the barn lock in 10 seconds. Even a concrete pillar would take twenty years to do this. Look at this. The wall tilt reads a book. He thinks. And this is more difficult "live-write through and", it is already the animal world of the west coast of Australia.
- There is no such thing on earth.
- And the kettle? A copper kettle? Maybe some kind of locomotive made of oxygen?
This is how I feel when I watch Transformers.
At the end of the day, one will stand and the other will fall.
Another adaptation based on comics, cartoons and animated series. “Transformers” by Michael Bay turned out to be quite spectacular and realistic. In particular, I liked the design of the robots themselves, especially the Autobots. The authors successfully modeled their appearance, added bright colors and details, each robot even has its own character. Their dialogues are also quite interesting. Decepticons in this regard, of course, lose, their design and character is quite monotonous, except that the transformer spy Franzi.
The film managed to combine the comedy and action component. In the end, it was exciting, although at first it seemed that humor is not very appropriate. Of the human characters most liked Sam Whitwicky (Shia LaBeouf), Seymour Simmons (John Turturro) and, perhaps, Sam's father (Kevin Dunn). Comedic moments with these characters were the most successful. Smiled at Sam's monologues with himself. In general, his image of a high school student quite fit into the film. However, the plot of the film is not very intricate and quite straightforward. Rachel Taylor didn’t really fit the image of a hacker, her friend, played by Anthony Anderson, looked better in this image. It feels like Rachel didn’t get the role of Michaela, played by Megan Fox.
It is clear that this film focused on special effects and action. All this in the film was successful and looked quality and beautiful. There is nothing to add to this.
In general, the film is interesting to watch and it looks in one breath, but it lacks depth. This film is more likely to fit the definition of “one evening”. Despite the fact that there were often pathos, philosophical or pathos-philosophical phrases like: “without victims there is no victory”, “any creature deserves the right to freedom”, “people deserve the right to choose”, in fact, the idea did not go beyond these phrases. Although, it is all epic, with a good soundtrack and beautiful shots.
I’ve seen this movie before and now I’ve watched it. The ending hinted at a continuation and despite the fact that they have already come out a lot, after re-viewing the first part somehow does not remain a strong desire to see the second part. When I first saw the movie, I was interested in seeing it. If we consider this part as a separate film, it is quite watchable.

Despite the current situation, the Transformers cinema universe is still considered one of the best. Although the director was not and may not be a fan, but still caught on to one of the themes that inspired even the audience. Man and machine. What is the relationship between them? What's in common? What have you been through? These questions were answered by Michael Bay in Transformers. In addition, the appearance of the Autobots and Decepticons has changed to “cinema-recognition”. However, it is impossible to hide the fact that not one of the audience, while watching in the cinema, did not understand who is who. But in the middle of the movie, the giant robots reminded themselves. If we talk separately about the characters, the composition of the two races of Transformers turned out to be both good and bad. Here we go:
The composition of robots, whose main task is to protect humanity from danger, is easy to remember. For there are Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Ratchett, Ironhide and Jazz. The alt-form is very different from the cartoon, as the director immediately ruled out the option because of the idea of how they will look in growth after the transformation. And apparently for good reason. I want to highlight the following cars: the Chevrolet Camaro, after the premiere of the film, became a cool and popular car, the alt-shape of which belongs to the “dumb”, yellow war. Peterbilt was selected at the insistence of Steven Spielberg. So I didn't lean on that truck for nothing. He saw in him the heroic and noble. And it's not for nothing that this truck went to Optimus. The Pontiac Solstice is Jazz instead of the Porsche 935 Turbo. Great car, but it is a pity that I could not take part in the subsequent parts. Probably, it affects the fact that there were problems with this brand in terms of buying a sale, thereby bankrupting. But Jazz seriously suffered not only in the plot, but also in nature. That's a minus, by the way.
Decepticons: In terms of number, the composition is larger than it seems. It is explained that viewers prefer a lot of explosions, a lot of fighting, a lot of shooting and a lot of stalking. Such a desire the director without question approved and fulfilled. He also loves this part of the subject. Decepticons are mainly transformed into military equipment. Among them are airplanes and helicopters. Although two or even three have a terrestrial alto form. And here's what I want to note: Ford Mustang (policeman), under the slogan "Punish and enslave", took Barricade. In the animated series, he was less noticeable and there was no talk about him at all. But thanks to Michael Bay's film, like Bumblebee, Barricade became a famous Decepticon. He also appeared in parts 3 and 5. Megatron received the alto shape of the aircraft of the cybertron model. This is for the best, because everyone remembers what Megatron transformed into in the animated series. From the director’s side it would be a shock if the film transformed into a blaster, which can only shoot a transformer, and without use just looked empty.
As for music, it is worth thanking the composer Steve Yablonsky. His compositions have good periods of repeated and unified structure with added contrast, as in Arrival to Earth, the episode of the arrival of the Autobots on earth. Or "Optimus" in a scene where the Autobots discussed a further plan to save Spark and Bumblebee. You really feel relaxed while listening!
It was not in vain that the film was rated “Yurrah!” Accordingly, the director shot a sequel (which was not planned). The plot is more or less consistent with the plot of the cartoon, although there are so-called Easter eggs in conversations, movements and even in some characters. And of course, there was no doubt that the Transformers were voiced by actors from the animated series, including Peter Cullen, the voice of Optimus. Without him, the leader of the Autobots would not have been possible.

Michael Bay made an incredibly spectacular film, with which his name is now associated. Transformers marked the beginning of a new franchise, which has already five parts. The story of alien robots that transform into machines made a great stir in its time, which is no longer there.
2007 showed us robots from another planet, a year later Tony Stark will wear a suit Iron Man, which will also be compared with the film Bay. When the movie "Transformers" came out, I was incredibly happy to watch it, such large-scale blockbusters are rarely found. But after reviewing now, I realized that interest was lost, and I do not want more and more new parts. But nevertheless, the film took its place in the history of cinema, and the history of the war of the Autobots with the Decepticons will not end.
Let's talk about actors. Shaia LaBeouf did not debut in the cinema with this role, but gained incredible popularity thanks to "Transformers". Although he does all sorts of nonsense in life and scandalous news with the actor in the network can not be counted, still I consider him one of the best. Various films with him have proven this. As for one of the hottest girls Hollywood Megan Fox, she has the same story as LaBeouf: not debut and rabid popularity. B.B. is able to choose actors. I also want to note Tyrese Gibson, the star of the franchise "Fast and Furious", who showed that he can not only race cars perfectly, but also handle weapons well, although here he is not as charismatic as in the above film.
Sam is an ordinary teenager who bought himself a car, but not an ordinary one, it turned out to be alive. And there are actually a lot of such machines, and they all need Sam's help to find a cube that contains the power of incredible energy and is hunted by evil machines. This idea was enough for Michael Bay to create a very interesting and spectacular film.
But since I said that the older I got, the more interest in this creation disappears, and my good attitude to the film warms only the presence of LaBeouf in the frame. And I think that everyone should see this, but whether to spend time on subsequent parts, it is worth deciding only after watching this picture.
Despite the pop of recent years that Michael Bay gives us, it is foolish to turn a blind eye to the fact that his projects, with rare exceptions, are commercially extremely successful. And the fact that “Transformers” is waiting for a whole lot of movies, it was obvious after the first trailers, because in 2007, it was fresh and epic! And how happy, sitting in the cinema, every immature youthful mind, looking at the toys of early childhood, you just need not be a female man to understand this. And I don’t want to say that before the grass was greener, and Hollywood was able to surprise. No, watch the first part now, it is really a worthy film, albeit in the category of “popcorn Movie”.
There is no victory without sacrifice!
The main advantage of "Transformers", suddenly - transformers. Bay has always been friends with special effects, but in 2007, I am not afraid of this word, surpassed all, and only the trilogy of “rings” was inferior in scale to scenes. Yes, yes, I'm sure Transformers for 2007 had the best special effects. However, the Fraer did not dance for long, because Cameron was already working hard on his blue-tailed pets.
Not without the stupidest holes, but the plot has a solid core and the integrity of the narrative, and questions from the category: “What the hell?”, “Why did he do this?” and “Is it easier for him to just kill everyone?”, you ask not so often. The battles between humans and robots are particularly striking. Imagine fighting cockroaches at home by spraying them with spray water, instead of just not coming up and slamming the shit with a newspaper. So is an alien cyber-race, shooting at people from afar using some kind of scarecrows, waiting for a prodigy to arrive and crumble it for spare parts, instead of just walking up and crushing the whole soldier's foot like Colorado bugs in 10 seconds. And, of course, a brilliant decision, in the spirit of any army command, is to move the general battle to a densely populated metropolis, where the civilian population has not heard of the evacuation or the planned strike. And in the rest - more than acceptable plot component for such a movie.
It is also worth noting and quite tolerable humor. In some places, not without my favorite American sariri-degrod geekyk, but quite successful.
The only thing I will be convinced of for the rest of my life is that the role of the main character suits Shie LaBeouf, as well as me, the role of Matilda in Leone. Even if we abstract from my subjective position that he, like the ever-surly mockingjay, is a damn, awful, very bad actor! Like Megan Fox, but at least it's nice to look at it as a scenery. Such actresses, in general, a kind of chromakey in such films. Create a beautiful background - and good.
Taking into account the fact that the film plays well and dramatic moments, and sometimes it is not a sin to sob, it fully deserves its performance.

Decepticons vs. Autobots: The Dawn of Transformation
You won’t believe it, but it was nice to watch fights unfold on the screen, the scope of which goes beyond our minds. Zero, by and large, could not boast of anything like this, because many of the fantastic militants had no idea about the expansion of scale towards total destruction and explosions. And to add huge, transforming robots fighting for people or against them not for life, but for death, they had no idea about it at all. But it was clear that such a film would have been a phenomenal success.
So thought, probably, in his time, a lover of explosions or the king of pyrotechnics Michael Bay. In that distant 2007 (if you consider everything that is far from 10 years), to shoot something epic was not difficult. From the perspective of today. Previously, to be sure, cinemas could not boast of anything large-scale, so Michael Bay decided to fix it.
The very story of the creation is quite interesting and lies in the fact that the director wanted, as I said, to shoot a film, make a sensation, surprise the viewer, make people believe that a movie with a huge heap of explosions and destruction can be exciting. Bay did not pay employees extra, forced people to work hard and hard, ironed out holes, weighed all possible and impossible outcomes of the events of the film. The man was obsessed with success and all his work was not in vain. Michael Bay did it.
So, the film tells about an ordinary schoolboy Sam Whitwicky (Shya LaBeouf), who wants fame, attention from his peers, namely from a girl he has long liked, Mikaela (Megan Fox). To achieve this goal, Sam, having collected all the savings of both his own and his family, buys a car. From this moment everything in the boy’s life is turned upside down, because that machine is a real robot. The cycle of events drags Sam and Michaela into a real war of the Autobots and Decepticons for possession of the powerful artifact Spark.
The amazing feature of the film is that here you can see the efforts of the director to show his talent. No one has shot anything like this in their genre, so the studio had great chances to please the viewer.
The visual effects that Bay prioritized are striking. Robot transformations, their battles, get goosebumps. Each of the robots has its own character, mannerisms and habits, which makes them all memorable and play their own role. And most importantly, there are few of them here, because of which any action scene does not turn into mush, which affects all subsequent parts of the franchise. Autobots, as it is supposed, look majestic and noble. Decepticons, almost everything, verbose, but able to show the viewer who the villains are not through pathetic dialogues, but through their transformation and unique sinister appearance.
The actors here also look harmoniously, their characters are alive, which is why it is a pleasure to empathize with them. The hero of Shia LaBeouf changes as events unfold. At first, he is just a selfish teenager with a lot of complexes, thinking only about himself, fame and respect, but as events unfold, he realizes that there are things more important than the inner self, that sometimes you have to sacrifice yourself to save what you care about. What is the deep action scene, where Sam, holding on to the statue at the top of the skyscraper, tries to prevent Megatron from getting Spark, although he is afraid of heights and knows that he is likely to die.
There is not much to say about the other heroes. Megan Fox may be a good actor, but this role is not for her, because it is difficult for her to express emotions with the same expression. The chemistry between Sam and Mikaela is rather peculiar, for the former tries to arrange the latter in different ways, while the latter acts in the most illogical way. Part of the dialogue sometimes makes you blush because of their stupidity, but for the characters, I think it's part of their development.
The strong side of the soul was Sam's parents (Kevin Dunn and Julie White), who will forget about themselves, trying to do everything possible for their son. These are typical parents who will “poke” and laugh at him, will joke in their own way, but at the same time, souls do not want Sam and at the most dangerous moment they will think about him. Let a huge meteorite fall outside the window, the electricity in the whole district will be cut off or they will be taken away by Sector 7, they will first run to their son to find out if everything is good, not forgetting to release another barbing in his direction.
A huge role was in the soundtrack, which was written not by the notorious Steve Jablonsky, whose main theme after watching will immediately appear in your playlist.
Transformers is a film made with a soul. Competent and exciting action (fights of robots and their transformations, large-scale destruction), an excellent selection of actors, making the soundtrack goosebumps, a good plot make the film a real sensation. Unfortunately, the first part did its job, creating an army of fans, because of which the creators began to treat all subsequent parts more negligently. To something more, to something less, but the beginning was made. But despite all this, this creation of Michael Bay made childhood, including mine, a little brighter and richer, for which thank you very much.

In connection with the release on the big screens of the fifth part of the film epic Transformers, I wanted to review my favorite, and perhaps the best part about the adventures of giant robots, namely the first. Before the film, I was familiar with this universe only from toys and the animated series of the same name, but only superficially, so I had no complaints about possible differences from the original story.
This film was released back in 2007. Back then, everything was a little simpler – Transformers first appeared on the big screen, so the creators did not have to worry too much to surprise the viewer. They didn't come up with anything out of the ordinary, as long as the viewer didn't say, "I've seen this before." And it was definitely a huge plus for the movie.
The story tells about Sam Whitwicky performed by Shia la Bafa. Attention! In stories of this type, people are twofold. On the one hand, my geek friends want to see a robot fly, and on the storyline of people they don't care about the drum, they think cannon fodder runs. I keep this thought within reason. The same Pacific Rim just as successfully balanced these parts of the plot. In my opinion, the first two parts of the Transformers did everything competently here. What happened to the franchise next is a completely different story. Plus, in this film, they didn’t introduce too many robots, leaving them for subsequent sequels. The main character lives the life of a teenager with whom it is easy to associate himself. Because of this, everything looked very easy and pleasant. Gradually, the plot develops, introduces the viewer to the universe, characters. You will be told about the Cube, and about the Autobots / Decepticons, will be introduced to the characters of hot Megan Fox, solid John Voight, brutal Josh Duhamel, and most importantly - the unique Anthony Anderson and John Turturro. It was the last couple who brought the necessary humorous shade to the film. The influence of such hits of the director as “Armageddon” and “Bad Boys” is felt. And in my opinion, it was a good move. Everything looks in the same breath. And it boils down to an easy-to-understand idea: saving the world. Paphorous speeches, such as the Whitwicky family motto “Without sacrifices, victory cannot be achieved” are attached.
It is important to note additional aspects of film evaluation, namely the visual and audio series. The composer was Steve Jablonski, who created a unique atmosphere corresponding to the plot of scale. Each composition gets to goosebumps, and makes you feel the moment. What is Arrival to Earth? The soundtrack was performed by my favorite Linkin Park. Their song What I’ve Done is a great hit that makes you enjoy watching the end credits. As for the picture, it is enough to say only 2 words: Michael Bay. But I have no complaints. Yes, there are explosions and this can not but rejoice, especially since this is a film about the epic struggle of robots. Well, again, at that time, the creators did not have the goal to show a doubled successful formula of the film. They showed the action just as much as they needed. In this case, giving place to jokes and drama. In all these areas, there are moments that looked awkward, but you can also keep silent about them. After all, everyone has their own ideas.
Summing up, we can answer why this film is a clear example of the fact that the original tapes are better than sequels. It was a simple story about an ordinary boy who one day discovers that his yellow Camarro with black racing stripes is an alien robot who needs his help in order to save humanity. Of course, the fact that I was 13 at the time could have played a role, but even after 10 years - I am happy to revisit this great example of popcorn Movie without unnecessary multiple enlargements of what we have seen before (unfortunately, in this franchise it went out of the frame already on the 3rd film). And I don’t want to say anything about the obvious shortcomings of this film, which can be easily seen with the naked eye. Transformers is my movie, and the answer to the question, “Why?” The Yi Quartet has long said in What Men Talk About that the right answer is "Because." And that's it.

It’s hard to evaluate a movie looking back in time, because it’s hard to remember the emotions you experienced when you first watched it. Compounding the situation is the fact that the first “Transformers” has already released four sequels. I haven’t seen the last one yet, but the first three counted each one better than the previous one, which also leaves its mark. Anyway, I will try to be objective and remember what I experienced when I first watched the original film.
This is an interesting movie, created with an eye on the comics of the same name and a popular animated television series from the 80s, which in turn was made about the iconic toys-transformers of Hasbro. I remember when I was a kid, every child wanted a transformer toy. I remember asking my parents for a transformer. It was so cool: a toy transforming into a car, an airplane and a robot. Sitting down for the first time to watch a movie, I did not expect that I would experience similar emotions, but this is exactly what happened: it is gratifying to see how these giant robots fold into a car that is disproportionately smaller in size, how they effectively fold into a car in a jump, how they fold into robots.
However, in my opinion, the process of transformation into robots for some reason delayed. Whether for the sake of entertainment, or for the viewer to see firsthand and realize that the authors of the film calculated this process mathematically and consistently recreated: every detail really goes out and stands exactly in its place.
The plot of the film is quite ordinary for a blockbuster and does not shine with delights. In the foreground is the story of an ordinary boy Sam (Shya LaBeouf), who inherited from his great-grandfather unusual glasses, in which a map of the location of a powerful alien artifact is hidden. In the background (precisely in the second, which will not please fans of comics and animated series from the 80s) is a centuries-old civil war between the inhabitants of the remote planet Megatron, a war between Autobots and Decepticons, good and evil respectively. Unwittingly, Sam is drawn into this war and there are no roads back to ordinary life for him, since the world is on the verge of destruction due to the danger of seizing power over the planet by the Decepticons.
The main thing in such stories, of course, is not the narrative itself, but the salute of special effects and explosions. All of this worked out well. In general, Transformers is the most unusual film about robots in recent years (if you look at the viewer from 2007). It is difficult not to love this movie, but, frankly and without any discrimination, we still have a real "boy" in front of us. For the ensuing fashion for strong female characters, there is no corresponding heroine (Michaela (Megan Fox), the companion of the main character, still just present next to and a serious role in the film it can not be called, the focus is on Sam), and the female transformer is not enough, although in the original script it was planned.
Regarding Megan Fox separately: the feeling is that she is present in the film exclusively for the sake of appetizing forms, although, probably, without it anywhere in such a blockbuster. And its forms, believe me, show in a favorable angle. That’s why my friends went to the film and the first sequel. Of course, Michael Bay understood why he was giving Megan Fox the role. And, in fact, when Megan Fox abruptly disappeared from the franchise because of a conflict with the director – it was not cold, it did not get hot, and life did not stop there, and three more films came out: just one pleasant female forms were replaced by others – that’s all.
To summarize, I will say that if you did not join this franchise at one time, then you should not connect to it with one of the sequels. It’s best to start watching all the movies sequentially from the first. That’s the only way you’ll be able to see Michael Bay shoot better and cooler, and it’s worth a lot, believe me. And after all, “Transformers” have not yet outlived themselves, they are still doing well and are actually only at the start of their large-scale development, promising both spin-offs and further continuations of the main story. Join this universe as well!
In 2007, I saw Transformers for the first time (I won’t watch cartoons either), so for me, the story with alien robots became one of the most incendiary in the world. I’ve seen movies about aliens, but about people and machines. It's really catchy. I was particularly interested in how they worked if they were all made of metal.
Back in 2007, I never thought about the endless war between Good and Evil and Good. I did not see the political implications of this story. But now that the Last Knight has seen it. I realized that this is not just a war against evil. This is the eternal confrontation between people. Not only military, but also political.
The main character of the story is an ordinary guy with no ambitions. He wants to finish school and buy a car. I was surprised that the car was alive. Quite literally. Of course, these are not just machines, but cosmic races of robots from the unknown science of the planet. His grandfather found evidence of alien life in the Arctic ice. Naturally, no one believed him. As a result, the main characters and his new girlfriend are drawn into the maelstrom of events. It features the following characters, such as the leader of those who want to save the world of Optimus, and one who is ready to destroy him and all the people of Megatron. Among the robots, there are comedians, jokers and of course, scoundrels. They look like humans in a way.
Michael Bay made a wonderful film that showed us that robots are human. They have all human and animal characteristics. In a general film for adults and children.
Transformers showed us something else, no matter how much money you have in your pocket or whether you drive. I personally don’t drive and enjoy life. However, the transformation scenes themselves look just fine.
HASBRO rivets toys. Marvel stamps release after release. SUNBOW PRODUCTION is on the animated series.
And somewhere...
The disastrous “Island” and the subsequent divorce process with Bruckheimer threw the pyroman of all Hollywood into the loins of creative stagnation. Two years of unauthorised wandering and research on cocaine routes lead our pilgrim to the landscapes of DREAM WORKS, where grandfather Spielberg paternally lends a shoulder to a tired wanderer. Old Stephen, enlisting the support of Lukasovskaya ILM and knocking out the Treasury of PARAMOUNT 150 lyamny budget, offers Armageddon and Bad Guy almost 100% carte blanche: does not want, sir, to play tricks in the sandbox of alien machinery?
It would be utter folly to roll over such resources!
Fourth of July. Independence Day of the United States in 2007 was marked for the country by mass casualties at the cash desks of multiplexes, because the protégé Borodach delighted humanity with almost the best action of the decade. And his name is Transformers!
If Spielberg’s handwriting of the storyteller was responsible for the moral-spiritual dimension, impeccably harmonizing with the hurricane of rebellious iron, then the rear of the fast-food set firmly covered the destroying MB, pompously pulling the hinges of Sodom robofayting.
The visual overshadowed all possible flaws: ubiquitous advertising: from wheelbarrows to beer, incredibly pathetic jingoism, praise of the bravado of the military and worship of the Pentagon.
Minimum scenario gaps do not count. Who cares? The other thing is people.
Against the background of such action-farsh, watching the snorting, background cannibal characters was unbearable agony. To be honest, the presence of humanity in the narrative did not let you forget the appropriate buffoonery of art-house Turturro, the appearance in the frame of which will adorn even the most hopeless hopelessness. Indiana Jones' son has a solo relationship. The palm of the championship clearly remained for OptiPrime and Camarro. Nasina Autobots enthusiastically distribute pills to five-story Disepticons, not forgetting to defecate on a secret service. Megatron and associates cause respect and fear. The scale of rubilov, whether it is an autobahn or a metropolis, is amazing. Drawing transformation, sound, pyrotechnic effects - on the highest level.
All the puzzles of the summer entertainer have developed into a grinding spectacle! No compromise! Action-hungry and cinema-genicity rule! The sequel is just around the corner! Wait!
Megan Fox, Shia LaBeouf, Josh Duhamel, John Turturro... and this is not a complete list of characters. Is it really fascinating to see these names on a movie list?
Once upon a time, an unknown company for the production of figurines released toys in the form of transformers on the shelves of stores. Mechanized robots from the planet Cyberton, which once appeared in comics and cartoons, have reached their plastic versions. Childhood joys and fanatical "thank you" flooded the presidential box after the first financial report. In 2007, a time when blockbusters were reaching a new level, and technology was becoming perfect, Michael Bay, the patriotic face of all America, introduced the world his new creation, which became over the next ten years a real hit, both in the best sense of the word and the worst representation of the franchise as a whole.
Today, in 2017, when every second large and, more importantly, rich company once again releases films like “The Age of Extinction” (as special effects, nothing more) I do not want to be surprised. So why should we be surprised here? Companies have resources for projects like this. They are not afraid to spend a lot of money, knowing in advance that the topic is popular to this day and the excitement around it, will recoup the budget several times. Ten years ago, at a time when Michael Bay wasn’t codenamed “The God of Special Effects,” a project called “Transformers” seemed very potential for world cinema. What a pity that now "Transformers" on the big screens want to see a small number of people.
“Our World, Their War” is the slogan of the film. According to the cliché, there are two sides – good and bad robots. Each of them wants their own: The good are peace, and the bad are constant wars and violence. Both sides have a source of life on which not only their own lives but the life of the planet as a whole depends. And again, each side wants the source for itself. One is to stabilize the situation, and the other is to subjugate anyone who opposes their ideology. An ordinary, children's story, which makes it clear about itself to each child, which, in fact, is the essence. A good scenario is added with excellent special effects that do not cut your eyes. It's nice to see them, especially when there's a moment of robot transformation. Michael Bay has invested in the transformation effects. Each robot has its own model of transition from transport to its original form. It looks great, considering that the robots in the film are not one or two and overcooked. Fascinating action scenes add sharpness, especially when the same robots that we love come to the fore. It is interesting to watch their opposition, if only because in the background plays a pleasant to hear composition of the band “Linkin Park”.
Sam Whitwicky is a typical teenager with his own problems and worries. Like every guy his age, Sam wants a car. It's a thing where girls fall on their necks and self-esteem rises to heaven. After meeting the Autobots, as well as entering adulthood, Sam begins to understand what it is like to make serious decisions on which someone’s life depends. Unconventional situations in life, shown in the film, change Sam for the better. Appearing at the beginning of the film as a withdrawn boy, towards the end Sam turns into a courageous guy. Shia LaBeouf, whose fate does not want to be happy when entering the project, was at the peak of his career. Having got used to the role of a high school student, Shia showed a confident game. Rare moments when LaBeouf overplays are overshadowed by successful ones, where Shia tries to comically relieve tense moments.
John Turturro, a secret intelligence maestro, shines in the original film. Seymour Simmons is amazing in every episode. Appearing on pathos in the middle of the film, Seymour, like Sam, evolves in a characteristic way. The inflated ego disappears when the world is threatened by real danger. Brutality, seriousness and mockery towards the rest of the characters are what adorns Agent Seymour. John Turturro, unlike LaBeouf, doesn't overplay. Each of his scenes is a delight in Turturro’s acting abilities. John does not let the viewer get bored when his persona appears on the screen - and this is really cool!
The verdict. For all its positives, the original doesn’t show a decent movie all the time. Weak humor, based on the intimate relationship between a guy and a girl, does not look too funny. The minus to everything - Autobots, as in fact and Decepticons, the film shows a small number. However, even in this situation, the script work could not paint each of them at least a little bit.
So are you my guardian?
Shooting a blockbuster is like playing the stock market. It requires preparation, and information about competitors, and financial investments, and, most importantly, excellent sense. It is the latter that fails the current venerable producers who are afraid to invest millions in new titles, but are ready to spend the suitcases of American presidents on sequels, prequels, spin-offs and various remakes. However, in the summer of 2007, one film showed many that the original films with a budget of $ 300 million not only have the right to life, but also give a head start to many famous film series.
Transformers became almost the main event of the 2007 film season. The film, produced by all the already famous Steven Spielberg and directed by no less talented director Michael Bay, they managed to raise the bar for the quality of fantastic action films to a new level. What is the recipe for a quality fantastic blockbuster? Take expensive special effects, explosions and destruction, season them with scale and add memorable casting actors who played the main roles. It was this recipe that Bay used, bringing the action to a mind-blowing scale and making the main superheroes of huge alien robots. And who better to bring incredible transformers to the real world than the legendary special effects studio Industrial Light & Magic? The computer graphics in the film are made on a solid five on a five-point scale, and it is honestly strange that the film lost the gold statuette for special effects to the Golden Compass.
It’s hard to say whether it was Spielberg or Bay, but the creators of Transformers were able to avoid the main typical mistake for Hollywood – the balance of action and lyrics. That is why the viewer is not drawn to sleep and still want to know how the film will end, although it goes for quite a long time. And yes, that’s the only downside in my opinion. 2.5-hour timekeeping action movie can tire even the most steadfast viewer, but surprisingly the film is not so boring.
But it is worth mentioning that Bay’s painting is universal: it is equally well suited for viewers of all ages and all degrees of familiarity with the Transformers universe. The director not only introduced the robots and explained the reasons for their enmity and arrival to Earth for the uninitiated, but also reserved many references to classic comics and animated series for those who are “in the topic.”
One of the advantages of the tape was a correctly conducted casting. Young talent Shia La Beouf, who has already met with cinematic robots in the film “I, Robot”, became the main hope of mankind in the war against the Decepticons. He played the role of a simple American boy Sam Whitwicky. The actions of the hero are motivated, he wants to believe and empathize, and most importantly, you often catch yourself thinking that in his place you would do just that. Sam’s girl, a fatal beauty performed by the charming Megan Fox (by the way, at that time, she was a beginner in large-budget films), turned out to be simply excellent, envy for the young Whitwicky creeps to the tremors in her knees. Remembered Josh Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson in the image of brave soldiers, Australian Rachel Taylor. Undoubtedly, it is worth noting the game of experienced John Turturro and Oscar-winning John Voight, even at such a venerable age skillfully wielding a shotgun.
Wide-screen images of transformers largely follow the animated source. The leader of the Autobots Optimus Prime is still resolute, able to make difficult choices and honorably defend the freedom of all living beings. Armament specialist Ironhide will gladly smear a pair of decepto chops, sober Ratchet will repair on the battlefield, fashionable Jazz will stylishly enter the battle, and Bumblebee will save his best friend at the cost of his own life. Decepticons are given much less screen time: some do not talk at all, but only make frightening sounds. However, the incredibly tenacious tape recorder baby Franzi has every chance to become a favorite of the viewer.
Of course, not without the picture and negative moments. If you do not count the above-mentioned film sin with timekeeping, then we can say that the plot of the film is very poor on events. Special effects are good, but they are not limited to. The Autobots were not revealed as personalities to the viewer, which is surprising with the length of the film.
A pleasant surprise was the Ukrainian dubbing. Localizers well picked up the voices of robots (especially Prime) and actors, qualitatively adapted the script to our mentality.
Result: "Transformers" is a real blockbuster, light, relaxing and taking the viewer to the world where the streets of Los Angeles and the Hoover Dam will become the battleground of giant robots.
The movie is awesome. I've seen it many times. It's not boring. The scene with glasses and a cube is just tinkering - interesting and exciting. The moment when Optimus and Megatron were fighting was just brutal. Well, the scene with Megatron chasing Sam is a blast. The actors are great - all the stars are here! All my favorite Hollywood stars are here! Cruel. All respect and respect. The scenery in the film is excellent - the Transformers themselves are made very natural and quality. Like that. And the computerization in the film is great - action is what you need. In short, not a movie, but a bomb. That's a fact.
The philosophy in the film is that there is life on other planets. Just like Aliens. Or the Predator. The film teaches you to be a brave and courageous person in life. That's it. In short, be a brave, experienced and kind person in life and you will succeed!
Transformers is a great fantasy about big robots from another planet. Everybody watch. I have nothing to complain about - the movie was amazing. Only:
After watching the film left a storm of positive emotions. Michael Bay lived up to my expectations. Many believed that he only copied the idea of a long-known cartoon, but this was not the case. The director brought many new ideas to the film. The plot is very fascinating and curious, thanks to which we look not only at robots, wringing their sides, but also at the actors. And how much action in the movie... Chases, explosions, fights, massacres, shootouts, but what is only one final scene worth? The special effects in the film are simply amazing, there is nothing to complain about.
Music. Oh, what music is in the movie! I immediately want to accompany the Autobots in their fight against the Decepticons. The composition is just hurried! She is so heroic and valiant that no one could remain indifferent to what is happening. Sound accompaniment creates the effect of presence, which makes watching the movie only more interesting and exciting.
The performance of the actors in the film is quite high. Shia LaBeouf was amazing, he was able to reveal his character and help us remember him as an interesting character. Megan Fox managed to show herself as a beautiful and charming girl from the positive side. She played the role convincingly, for which I thank her.
And so we got to the bottom. No, there are no drawbacks. It's just the little ridiculous situations that happen at the epicenter. For example, Bumblebee's antics when he leaked the lubricant on Simmons. Or an order from Michaela to take off his clothes to the same employee of Sector 7. I think that was unnecessary. But all these are only minor marbles for such a grandiose picture as “Transformers”.
So, we sum up what we have: an interesting and curious plot, masterpiece visual effects, bright heroes, excellent work of the director, memorable music and a couple of hours well spent. As for the disadvantages, you will not even notice them when viewing the picture. We can only say thank you to Michael Bay for this centuries-old and legendary film!

It seems to me that Transformers can already be recorded in samples of fantastic action films and stop being critical of the film. This beautiful fiction can be watched an infinite number of times, from any moment. In my case, exactly. Always interesting.
The interest and magic of cinema is provided by robot machines. This film revives children in us – it plantes hope, almost consonant with the fact that the grandfather of frost is real, that in our, in any car, the heart of the autobot beats, that he is alive, that he is an alien, abandoned by chance to Earth, living among us. I like these games of Bay.
Traditionally, Transformers is an incredibly beautiful movie from the first to the last scene. Isn't that why we value commercial Hollywood cinema? Of course, for the impeccable execution, for the unrestrained imagination, when you can destroy Manhattan, and there will be nothing for it. Of course, for Megan Fox, any frame with her can be safely screenshot and on the screensaver. Girls for beauty, too, yeah.
Transformers among people who love movies nowadays it is customary to hate, although it is not more likely to despise. They say they are absolutely stupid, and everything in them is done only for the sake of beautiful special effects, and there is no soul in them. But everyone tends to forget that most blockbusters are built on exactly the same principle. Transformers are more successful than most colleagues in the genre, so it is customary to blame them for all the troubles.
I don’t want to defend the film at all, but it’s not good at all, the best word I can get for its quality is it’s normal. It does not have any interesting decisions or strong scenes, but it is generally pleasant to watch it, especially if you do not think about what is happening and take any, even the most ridiculous plot twists for granted.
That's what really bothered me when I watched it was the weird acting, they didn't even try. And if Shia LaBeouf still held at any level. That Megan Fox the whole film depicted a walking dummy for tight-fitting suits.
Special effects are performed at the highest level, from individual scenes is really breathtaking. At the same time, there are a lot of action scenes and they are in their place, although by the end of the film their abundance begins to tire a little. But some battle scenes are shot from very non-standard angles, which allows you to slightly cheer up and still easily watch them.
Transformers typical summer blockbuster, I would even say their brightest representative, and to look for something else is useless.
I well remember the year of the release of this film (2007), which was preceded by the advertising campaign. All movie fans were waiting for the release of this mega-fiction from Steven Spielberg and Michael Bay. Everyone understood that the key idea of creating a film belongs to Steven Spielberg, and he knows how to make quality films, and Michael Bay is a master for implementing other people's ideas.
The videos preceding the film were shot in the spirit of Spielberg - minimum information, everything is classified, the footage with robots is passing, and for a second the shadow of a Martian robot appears in the frame.
The film met my expectations. It was made cool, exciting, interesting, realistic, tense. In this film was "innovation - Transforming Aliens". Personnel and chamber emphasis was placed on their super-technological detailed transformations.
Very successfully were selected for the main roles Shya LaBeouf and beauty Megan Fox. Beautifully created the birth of their teenage love story against the backdrop of a battle of transformers. Also interesting is the relationship of the main character Sam Whitwicky (Shia LaBeouf) with his original parents. Everything was interesting.
I remember the scenes with the purchase of an old car by Sam's father; with the passage of the Camaro car on the highway on two side wheels to the music that also sounded in the film by Quentin Tarantino "Kill Bill." Movie 1"; with "toss" Sam Mikaela on his new car after the lake home, and, of course, the scenes with the transformers.

To begin with, for all the disadvantages of Transformers, as an entertaining blockbuster, I really like it. I like the other parts, despite a lot of shortcomings: stupid plots, long action, problems with logic, etc. But I like the 1st movie the most. Let's go straight:
Plot
I don’t know how to retell stories without spoilers, but I will only give my impression on this aspect. I understand that many people scold this film for the plot, but I think for such a fantastic film such a primitive plot is very appropriate. And let's be honest, we don't watch Transformers for storytelling, but for action and explosions. And the plot of this film is not bad enough in comparison with its other parts, series.
Screenplay.
I’ll be brief here, I really liked the script. The action of the film, the dialogue, the characters, all this is not beautiful, but not bad enough. I liked the characters despite their superficiality. Yeah, I'm weird.
Directing.
I liked it here too. No, not everyone. The camera shakes a little during the action. But all the rest is very good.
Acting.
I wouldn’t say the actors are great, but they’re not bad either. Shia LaBeouf is quite charismatic and fun, and all his cramps and nervous breakdowns are sometimes amusing. Well, Megan Fox wasn't messing around like she is now. All the other actors are also very good, but not great.
Bottom line.
You can say that I do not understand cinema, but in my opinion it is a very spectacular and suitable blockbuster and I really like it despite all the nonsense.

Look at the world through the eyes of a visionary.
After watching this picture, I see the situation: Michael sits there and thinks to shoot such a thing, so that everyone gasps. I made it up, I made it, and everybody gasped.
It worked. A great storyline, a kind of "Bayleowski Armagedon." Everyone knows that there is a series about Transformers, it was voiced, and ... the lull descended on this picture until it quietly crept up and made by none other than Michael Bay. I’m glad you didn’t ignore the tradition.
Bale Transformers were voiced not by modern actors, but by the same good old veterans of cinema Peter, Mike, Darius, Robert, Jess. Methotron was voiced by 'Daddy Elf' by Hugo Weaving. Although his long and rather successful career in cinema to some extent allows you to call him a veteran of cinema. For a long time, he glowed in multi-budget pictures, such as the matrix, the Lord of the Rings, Captain America, etc.
Peter could not be better voiced Optimus, a great and powerful warrior of the Autobots. This character has been stuck to Peter since '86. And he's stuck with it. In addition, it would be profound if these old-timers did not take on the voice of the heroes so much loved by them. And fans would not appreciate the work that was put into this film.
All about old people, let's talk about newcomers. Shia is great. By the way, he is always great, despite the strange name that his father invented for him. Not really.
It's where his game starts. Playing a dull schoolboy isn't that hard if you're a dull schoolboy, but it's not that level. Yeah, LaBeouf looks a little dumb. Well, his face is so... But this adds to his charm, heroism, self-confidence, especially as here you can not be sure if next to him Megan Fox, a mega beauty, seen from afar by Bay and voluntarily-forced brought to the set and put as a girl Whitwicky (the strangest surname with the strangest background). What can I say? It was a prank. But the pranks don't end there.
The pranks are spreading all over town and let's fight each other. But the question is, why America? Why, as something interesting happens, is America. But Bay has told us why America is. Because of the cube that Rubik didn't invent. I don't know who.
It's a fun kinzo. Although there are a lot of unsuccessful comedic moments, which, by the way, are very in vain stuffed there, but still it somehow discharges the situation, making it a little static, so that the viewer does not overwork because of the excessive complexity of the plot and unique fantastic scenes.
I can’t say that I liked the film very much. Some kind of crazy mom. She obviously would do well to heal or at least calm down. She confuses the main character at every turn. And this inadequate dog, which because of the size and the dog can not be called, some miscarriage of a shepherd, it is generally nightmare. The film could have done without it.
A great blockbuster to watch on a summer evening with some unpretentious cocktail (like Cuba Libre or Tequila Sunrise) is as simple as the plot itself. It contains neither deep pseudo-philosophical reflections, nor tragic interrelations of different generations, nor an excessive number of pathetic speeches. It’s just the story of a loser who is forced to save the world without being prepared. All right, my friends will help.
Despite the blockbuster nature and, by definition, the creators’ installation of siphoning money from the public, the film has an atmosphere. This is the self-irony of the actors (primarily Shia LaBeouf and Anthony Anderson, who plays a well-fed superhacker), and the intrigue of the relationship between Sam and Michaela, and the ease with which the picture looks. By the way, I really liked the duo LaBeouf-Fox. The emphasized eroticism of the heroine Megan Fox is a reflection of the fantasies of hormone-filled Sam, and it is very interesting to watch how gradually the character of Michaela opens up, turning into a friend-companion-beloved nerd saving the world.
I think the first time I saw this movie, I drank Margarita. Perfect combination.
