Kingdom is a British television series produced by Parallel Film and Television Productions for the ITV network. It was created by Simon Wheeler and stars Stephen Fry as Peter Kingdom, a Norfolk solicitor who is coping with family, colleagues, and the strange locals who come to him for legal assistance. The series also starred Hermione Norris, Celia Imrie, Karl Davies, Phyllida Law and Tony Slattery.
The first series of six one-hour episodes was aired in 2007 and averaged six million viewers per week. Despite a mid-series ratings dip, the executive chairman of ITV praised the programme and ordered a second series, which was filmed in 2007 and broadcast in January and February 2008. Filming on the third series ran from July to September 2008 for broadcast from 7 June 2009.
Stephen Fry announced on his blog in October 2009 that ITV was cancelling the series, which was later confirmed by the channel, which said that given tighter budgets, more expensive productions were being cut. close

Double order
Starley Evgeny Pechalin (Andrey Kuzichev), sent by the command of his unit on a Moscow business trip, received two orders at once: to deliver to the part of the recruits and, finally, bring his wife with him: beautiful, positive and necessarily "with a rich inner world." Adventures and worries with conscripts he gets enough, and responsible Pechalin exemplary performs all his official duties, so that it was possible without remorse to move to personal.
The capital celebrates Victory Day, to which the meeting of classmates of Eugene is timed, and it, though reluctantly, will have to go. He, who has survived ten years of endless warfare, believes that those who take him for a loser are in some ways right: having no civil profession, no wife, no family, no home at his age is really strange. Presenting the curiosity of former pupils, questions and hidden sympathy, mixed with an open sense of superiority, he intends not to appear at the evening without a bride.
Hidden and explicit
The bride finds him an old friend, a colleague Gaetsky (Andrey Merzlikin), introducing Vika (Victoria Tolstoganov). However, not in the conservatory, as punished by the authorities, and the sophisticated wife of a military officer she “does not pull”, as frankly and directly answers Zhenya to her direct question. Vika seems to him too uninhibited and lightweight, but now he has someone who can be passed off as a future wife. The fact that he also does not reveal himself too much to people, preferring to show them a mask instead of his real self, he will remember a little later, when he gets used to it and begins to understand it.
And now that the Motherland has received a new batch of its future defenders, and his “bride” is available, senior lieutenant Yevgeny Pechalin, a military officer who served and survived in Chechnya with honor, can and should go to Red Square. Its place is where the people gather to celebrate one of the most important and true holidays of the country - the holy day, when the Great Victory ended for Russia the most terrible war in the history of mankind.
