After the first blockade winter, the conductor of the Grand Symphony Orchestra of the Radio Committee receives an important government task to perform Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 7 in the besieged city. It seems impossible from the orchestra left several musicians: someone died of hunger, someone left on the front, someone disappeared without news. But the concert must take place and thunder on the whole world, so that both friends and enemies hear: “Leningrad is alive!” Assistance to the head of the orchestra Karl Eliasberg seconded employee of the NKVD Anatoly Seregin. But even before this order, the fate of Lieutenant Seregin, who lost the entire family of the raid, intersected with the fate of Eliasberg: it was Seregin who led the arrest of the conductor’s wife. Despite mutual distrust and complete rejection, the conductor and lieutenant must do the impossible: together find the missing performers in the blockaded city and ensure the premiere of the Seventh Leningrad Symphony.
