When the boy was 5 years old, the family moved to Kharkiv. There, after a while, he entered the musical theater. In 1929 he took theatrical courses and moved to Moscow.
In the big city, he managed to become an extra in several theaters at once, including the famous Small and Big. Beginning in 1930, he began to be given secondary roles in the theater, and in 1935 he starred in films. At first he only played in inconspicuous episodes. But more serious work followed later. He was particularly successful in films about the war.
The actor was very different from others for his amazing charm and easy humor. Perhaps this, as well as his talent, contributed to the growth of the popularity of Mark. In films, he not only played, but also sang. Later he began to combine 2 works: he continued to star in various films and began to appear on the stage. His latest activity was very exciting. He saw great potential for creativity and self-expression. Creating his repertoire, he was demanding not only to himself, but also to poets and composers.
He was first invited to speak in public in Sverdlovsk in 1943. Then followed a tour of the Urals. And since the late 40s, Mark began to perform in Moscow.
The 50s and 60s brought Marc Bernez many character roles. He played people who had a difficult fate. However, in 1958, 2 popular newspapers began to criticize the actor. It was enough for him to stumble a little, as it was immediately presented by the publications in the darkest light. Because of this, he was not even invited to the film. But, fortunately, he soon got roles in movies again.
