His real name is Albert Pincherle. Born in Rome. At the age of eight, he contracted polio, learned German, French and English over the years of treatment, and began writing. He worked as a journalist in the Turin newspapers, was a special correspondent in London. His first novel, The Time of Indifference, was published in 1929. Among other novels Moravia - "Woman of Rome" (1947), "Defiance" (1948), "Conformist" (1951), "Empty canvas" (1960). Many of Moravia’s works have feature films. In 1990, his autobiography “The Life of Alberto Moravia” was published.
