Although he now lives and works in the United States, Bo Swanson was born in Gothenburg, Sweden. In the States, he was seventeen years old and did not immediately engage in acting. First, he graduated from the University of California (UCLA), then served six years as a marine - calculating Americans usually do the opposite to get a scholarship from the army and unlearn "freebies". Then Bo became a professional hockey player, then a racer, after that he was attracted to judo, in which he earned a third dan, then aikido. He took part in world championships, even managed to participate in the Olympic Games.
In 1968, Bo appeared in a television western series playing The Big Swede, although by then he spoke English better than many locals. Then came the roles on television, mostly sheriffs, villains and other big guys. I hope that one day Bo will be able to get rid of the tired stereotype and appear on the screen in a role worthy of his talent.
Bo Swanson has lived with his wife for thirty years, they have two adult daughters, and recently adopted another girl.
