George A. Romero is an American film actor, director, screenwriter, born on February 4, 1940 in New York, USA. After high school, he continued his studies at the University of Pittsburgh. As a teenager, George became interested in filming. Using an 8mm camera, the boy filmed everything he liked. After graduating from university, George shot short films and all sorts of commercials, honing his skills to the highest level.

As a teenager, George became interested in filming. Using an 8mm camera, the boy filmed everything he liked. After graduating from university, George shot short films and all sorts of commercials, honing his skills to the highest level.
When Romero shot the full-length film Night of the Living Dead, this picture made a real furor in the horror genre and indicated the further direction for other directors for new zombie films.
The next good work of the director was the dramatic film “Like flies on honey”, which was released in 1971. In the same year, George married Nancy, with whom he remained happily married until 1978.
In 1973, the talented director again pleased the audience with new horror films “Crazy” and “Hungry Wives”.
In 1977, the film Martin was released on the wide screen. The film is about a maniac who considers himself a vampire. In 1978, Romero made a new zombie movie called Dawn of the Dead. The picture was a huge success and collected forty million dollars at the box office.
The next successful Romero films can be considered the work “Knights on wheels”, “Kaleidoscope of horrors”, “Day of the dead”, the series “Tales of the dark side”, etc.
In 1988, the rental was launched
The Killer Monkey . This is a dramatic film with horror elements. It was followed by the films “Two Vicious Looks”, “The Dark Half”, “The Bouncer”.
The Warner Brothers film company allocated fifteen million dollars to complete the filming of the zombie “Land of the Dead”, and serious work began. The picture released on the screens was a stunning success. It was a triumphant return of director George Romero to the world of cinema.
