Popular British producer and actor Patrick MacNee was born in England on February 6, 1922. The childhood of the actor was held in a creative atmosphere - his great-grandfather was engaged in painting. The father trained stallions to participate in the races. When Patrick was 8 years old, his parents divorced, and he and his mother changed places of residence. In the new city, they began to live with Aunt Evelyn. She was quite a rich lady. Patrick McNee first studied at Eton. However, the study lasted only a few years - he was expelled due to numerous absenteeism.
He began his acting career in 1937, when he got a role in the film Pygmalion. His role was insignificant. He was just an ordinary extra. Beginning in 1939, he began to study a course in a theater school. In the same year he joined the Navy. Since 1940, he began to play in theaters. Initially not in the most famous, but gradually he began to be invited to the popular theaters in London. There he got the main roles. He often played Shakespearean characters.
Patrick McNee had a chance to return to the movies in 1942, but he was unable to use it because he was drafted into the army. Upon completion of the service, he had to return from the theater. However, just a few months later he got a role in the film “Wuthering Heights”, and he finally got back on television. Not just a hit. His excellent performance was noticed by famous directors.
Patrick McNee leaves his home country and goes to Canada. He had to rebuild his career there. This did not bother him, because he never had a particularly successful role.
In the new place, he received a variety of roles, but all of them did not suit the actor. Then he moved to Hollywood, but there his career did not reach the heights. In 1960, he returned to his homeland and finally got good roles. Among the bright pictures in which he starred, it is worth highlighting “Theatrical chair”,
"Thunder in Paradise" "Howl."
