Richard Berry is a famous French director, screenwriter and actor. Richard was born in Paris in 1950. His parents were French of Algerian descent and engaged in commercial activities. His passion for acting came to Richard at the age of 16. Then he came to the troupe of amateur actors, where he was imbued with the classics of Pierre Cornell, Beaumarchet, Molière and Racine.
In 1969, Berry entered the National Conservatory of Dramatic Art. His teachers were Jean-Laurent Cauchet and Antoine Vite.

In 1969, Berry entered the National Conservatory of Dramatic Art. His teachers were Jean-Laurent Cauchet and Antoine Vite. In 1973 he received his first prize. In the same year he moved to Comedy Française and became a boarder. He stayed there until 1980.
In 1974, Richard Berry made his film debut.

Richard Berry played in such films as Alexander Arkady’s “Big Carnival”, “Day of Payback” and “Day of Payback 2”, “Last Dawn”, “Sacred Union” and “For Sasha”. He also starred a lot with director Christina Pascal, in particular, playing in the work “The Little Prince Said”, for which he received the Cesar Award for Best Actor, as well as a prize at the Montreal Film Festival.
In 2001, Richard Berry made his directorial debut with the film The Art of Seduction. Two years later came the next work “I, Caesar”, in which he shot his daughter Josephine. It was comedies and then he released the psychological thriller Black Box. In 2010, Berry’s fourth directorial work entitled “22 Bullets: Immortal” was released, based on real events.
Richard didn't stop playing. So, he starred as Commissioner Vernet in the comedy Francis Weber “Unlucky”. It also featured Gerard Depardieu and Jean Renaud.
