Marie Trentignan tragically died on August 1, 2003 - during the filming in Vilnius of the film "History Colette", in which she played the main role, she was brutally beaten by her friend, rock singer Bertrand Kant. In a coma, Marie Trentignan was taken to the hospital, but all the efforts of doctors did not help - a few days later she died of cerebral edema as a result of a traumatic brain injury.
