British actor and singer Rhys Ifans was born in Pembrokeshire on July 22, 1968 in a family of teachers. Rees spent his childhood in north Wales in Ritin, where he received his primary education at his mother’s school.

Ivans made his debut in the theater in Robert Delamer’s The Accidental Death of an Anarchist at the Donmar Warehouse Theatre. After that, there were roles in plays Don Juan in Soho by Patrick Marber, Volpone by Matthew Varkus, Under Milk Wood by Roger Michel, as well as in productions of Beautiful Thing by Hetty McDonald, Thyesters by James McDonald and Smoke by Bram Murray.
In 1990, Ivans became one of the creators of the children's quiz, then he drew the attention of fans. After the quiz, Rees took part in many television projects, which were followed by more active filming and acting on the stage of London’s Royal National Theatre. In addition, for a while Ivans was a member of the rock band Super Furry Animals, proving himself also as a vocalist.
In 2005, Rhys won the prestigious BAFTA Award for his role as comedian Peter Cook in Not Only But Always. At the same time, Ivans starred in the Oasis music video for The Importance of Being Idl.
After a long break in 2006, Rhys Ivans returns to the London stage with the play Don Juan. In parallel (since 2007) the actor plays in the rock band The Peth, the first concert of which took place in September 2008.
