The meeting turned out to be fateful - Crisp actively participated in Fisher's tour, and then decided to seriously engage in an acting career and in 1910 began working as a director for the famous George M. Cohen. Two years later, Crisp went to Hollywood, where for several years viewers could see his various roles in more than a hundred silent films. Donald also made nine of his own films. His last work as a director – the picture “The Runaway Bride” was released in 1930.
After the completion of his career as a director, the acting of Donald Crisp rapidly went up. He perfectly performed characteristic roles in films.

Wuthering Heights (1939), The Seahawk (1940), How Green Was My Valley (1941). For his role as Gwilym Morgan in
film "How green was my valley" Donald Crisp won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. The last film work was the picture “Mount Spencer” (1963) with Henry Fonda in the title role.
Donald Crisp was married twice, but both marriages ended in divorce. In the summer of 1974, after several strokes at the age of 91, the actor died. Donald Crisp is buried in the city of Glendale (California), and his significant contribution to film art is marked by a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. /
