Francho Thawne graduated from Cornell University, where he was chief executive of the student drama theater. In 1929, Thawne made his debut in The Age of Innocence on American Broadway.
In 1931, Thawne became one of the main founders of the world-famous and illustrious Group Theatre along with such famous personalities as Harold Klurman, Cheryl Crawford, Stella Adler, etc.
Critics saw and recognized Francho Thawne, calling him the most promising and talented actor of his generation. Suddenly surging fame turned the head of the young actor, he is invited to the main roles in theatrical productions, with which he copes quite successfully.
Soon Franshaw Thawne left the theater and moved to Hollywood, as soon as the famous film company MGM signed him a contract for cooperation in the field of cinema. His co-stars on stage were discouraged and upset by Thawne's actions, but he never allowed himself to turn down the help of Group Theatre when they needed it.
