Zen Gesner was born on June 23, 1970 in Van Nuis, California. His mother was the famous actress Nan Martin, and his father was the outstanding architect Harry Gesner. Xen’s parents decided to name him after a Buddhist sect in Japan that preaches the way to Nirvana through meditation. He is not the only child in the family, he has an older brother on the mother’s side.
The young actor was more interested in music than acting, so to this day he plays the trumpet and piano. It was only during high school that he began to strive for acting, taking part in the school production of Hamlet, after which Zen with pleasure continued to play various roles in school plays. After graduating, he decided to join the theater in Orange Country, California. At first, he played only small roles and gradually gained skill.
However, Zen did not stop at the provincial theater and entered one of the prestigious music academies in London, after which he made his debut in 1984 in the comedy Dumb and Dumber as a federal agent. Then the young actor appeared in several popular films:
"Me, Me and Irene Again" "Crazy about Mary," "Love of Evil." In 2005, he was offered to play with Jimmy Fallon and Drew Barrymore in the comedy Baseball Fever, which was appreciated by both audiences and film critics.
Having received a role in the film “The Adventures of Sinbad the Seafarer”, the actor went to shoot in South Africa, where he learned rock climbing, balancing, flips and many other tricks. In 1998, filming was completed and Zen Gesner began appearing in other, equally successful projects. He played the role of David Patrick in the film “Olympic Fraud”. Now the actor can often be seen in commercials.
