This American actress of Chinese origin was born on October 10, 1966 in Chengdu. Lin’s father was a musician, and his mother, whose genes were most likely passed on to her daughter, was a ballerina and stage actress, and later, at an older age, worked at Sichuan University as a teacher. As a child, Lin was a very calm and humble girl, not shy to express her feelings only on stage. Lin’s acting talent allowed him to take life and his rights and responsibilities less seriously than was prescribed by Chinese society at the time. Already at the age of 14, a young Chinese woman began to perform with the school choir. Later, Lin Bai entered the Chinese People’s Liberation Army, receiving the position of “soldier actress”. In this capacity, she worked for more than three years, organizing performances for the entertainment of soldiers of the military unit in Tibet, and working there as a nurse.
It is known that Lin Bai was in a psychiatric clinic for some time. After the treatment, she was considered healthy, but sometimes the statements of the actress cause skeptics to doubt the correctness of the decision made by doctors, although this may well be a manifestation of eccentricity. In 1985, she made her film debut in On The Beach. At the end of the same decade, Lin took part in protests against the then-regime in China, which forced her to emigrate to the United States. After almost ten years of living and working in this country, she was able to obtain American citizenship.
Her first film, which was shot in the center of the film industry – Hollywood, was called “The Crow”, but she received real fame only after filming in the films “Red Corner”, “Star Wars” and “Lost”.
