Born in 1973 in Harlem, New York. Since childhood, Bokima was surrounded by a creative atmosphere, as his mother was an actress. Bokim studied at one of the prestigious schools in New York - the Dalton School, and later moved to an equally prestigious educational institution - the Higher New York School of Music and Art LaGuardia. His specialty was instrumental music, he was also the vocalist of the band Mazard.
With the support of his mother, Bokim entered the world of show business at 19 as a stunt double and assistant in Ernest R. Dickerson's directorial debut, "Authority." The main roles in the film were played by Omar Epps and Tupac Shakur. The following year, Woodbine made his debut as an actor in the television series CBS Special School Vacation. His appearance on the screen was noticed by casting director Yaki Brown-Karman, who subsequently recommended the actor to Forest Whitaker in his directorial debut “Strapped” (1993). The first serious work for Bokim Woodbine was a role in the film “Crooklyn”.
