Evgeny Kuzmich Suponev is a Soviet actor, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, the father of the famous TV presenter Sergei Suponev.
The future artist was born in the city of Pushkin near Leningrad on September 26, 1939 in the family of a military pilot and a housewife. With the outbreak of the war, his father went to the front and died in 1942, without seeing his daughter born in his absence. Mother with two children evacuated to the village near Voronezh, to his mother, where he spent all his childhood Yevgeny Kuzmich. After graduating from school, the young man in love with the acting profession went to conquer Moscow - he was escorted to the whole village to enter VGIK. But Suponev did not enter, cut himself off at the exam on the history of the CPSU, and he did not dare to return to his mother. And then he was lucky – the failed student caught the eye of the film crew from Tashkent, which was looking for a hero for the main role. And Eugene got this role, playing in the picture.
"Desert case" .
The following year, he repeated his attempt to get a professional education, this time submitting documents to the Shchukin School. And it was accepted.
He graduated in 1961, after which he got into the troupe of the Theater of Satire, where he served for more than one year, but was forced to leave due to a conflict with director Valentin Plucek. After that, he was accepted into the Moscow Miniature Theatre, and then moved to the Moscow Philharmonic Association, where he became a master of the artistic word. He performed reading programs, wrote poems himself, some of which became songs, and even published several collections.
Suponev’s film career did not work out – here, in addition to his debut role, he had only one leading role, in the film “Apple of discord”. In other films, he appeared in episodic, secondary roles.
Great friendship connected Evgeny Kuzmich with his son Sergey Suponev, who became popular in the country leading children's programs. The death of his son in 2001 greatly affected his father’s health. Having been ill for several years, having suffered several strokes and a heart attack, Evgeny Kuzmich died on February 17, 2008.
