Pavel Alexandrovich Springfeld was born in Ekaterinodar (now Krasnodar) on January 21, 1912. Paul’s father worked all his life as a watchmaker, he died in 1919. After his death, the boy's mother got a job in labor to the kulak Vitsny, then began to work as a laundress. Pavel spent eight years at school, after which he began to work at an oil factory in Krasnodar. In 1929 he returned to Moscow and entered GITIS. Pavel Alexandrovich Springfeld was born in Ekaterinodar (now Krasnodar) on January 21, 1912. Paul’s father worked all his life as a watchmaker, he died in 1919. In 1933, after graduating from the Institute, Pavel received an invitation to become an actor of the Moscow Theater of Working Youth (now the Lenkom Theater). There he worked until 1938, for the next two years Pavel was an actor of the Moscow Soviet Theater. Pavel Springfeld came to the cinema in the 30s. He immediately began to appear in episodic roles. The first major role went to Pavel in 1939 (he played Vaska Grachik in the film My Universities). In 1940, Pavel became an actor of the film studio Soyuzdetfilm.
After the war, he and his family were evacuated to Alma-Ata. In Kazakhstan, Pavel began to work at the Central United Film Studio as an actor. After returning from evacuation in 1945, Springfeld entered the staff of the theater-studio of the actor, where he worked for the rest of his life. Pavel Springfeld was a unique and multifaceted actor. He easily got used to any image, both comedic and dramatic.
One of his best and most notable roles is the role of Gleb Zavartsev in the popular Soviet comedy Hearts of Four. Our viewers know him for his unforgettable roles in the films “Twins” (the role of Alyosha Listopadov), “Ships storm the bastions” and “Admiral Ushakov” (the role of Orfano), “Children of the Partisan” (the role of Glushko), “Run” (the role of Skunsky), “City of masters” (the role of Burgomistre), etc.
