He was born on February 1, 1949.
Honored Artist of Russia.
He was admitted to the Pushkin Russian State Academic Drama Theatre in 1975 after graduating from the acting faculty of the Leningrad State Institute of Theatre, Music and Cinematography (class of Professor Igor Gorbachev). The charm of youth, infectiousness, temperament allowed Mikhail Dolginin to quickly take a leading position among young theater actors. From the first seasons he was assigned not only episodic, but also main roles. Moreover, his stage partners in the first performance - A.N. Ostrovsky's comedy "Hot Heart" (1975) - were the luminaries of the Pushkin Theatre Vasily Vasilyevich Merkuriev, Yuri Vladimirovich Tolubeev. The young actor with honor withstood the “battle baptism” next to such recognized masters of the Alexandrinian scene. However, as the artist himself admitted many years later in an interview: "... these great actors treated me very warmly, did everything to help" (Theatre Petersburg, No 5 (64). March 2004).
The second significant role in the repertoire of Mikhail Dolginin was the young Per Gunt in the play of the same name by G. Ibsen (1977). In this performance, the young artist was lucky to work with another wonderful master – People’s Artist of the USSR Bruno Freundlich, who played the mature Per Gunt. Later, this role was rightly called a milestone in the artist’s work: “... the true birth of actor Mikhail Dolginin began with the role of Per Gunt. Here, for the first time, his creative theme was clearly expressed – the theme of the formation of the human personality, the hero’s choice of his life position, enriching or devastating the soul, depending on what the mind, will, energy are aimed at. Bright and clearly outstanding Per Gunt Mikhail Dolginin. He is unusually emotional and mobile, intelligent and daring, he is overwhelmed by a dream of great deeds that will help him become the “lord of the world”. And although Dolginin plays only the young Per Gyunt in the play, he clearly and very definitely gives a sense of that deafness and heartlessness in his hero, which will lead Per Gyunt to the future collapse (Theater Leningrad, 1987. No. 16 (April 17-23).
The audience appreciated the early skill of the artist in the roles of classical and modern repertoire: Gavril ("Hot Heart" by A. Ostrovsky, 1975), Sev ("Honor Your Father" by V. Lavrentiev, 1976), Dima ("Evening Light" by A. Arbuzov, 1975), Zakhar ("Evening Light" by L. Moiseev, 1975), Renzo ("Green Bird" by K. Gozzi, 1976), Pavlik ("Ivushka is not crying" by M.Alexeeva, 1977), Zhlakova, (1981), A.Azka, A.Azov, (1981), A.Azka, A.Azov, A.A.), A.
Today in the repertoire of Mikhail Dolginin roles in the performances of Vladimir Golub - in the classic comedy A.N. Ostrovsky "Every wise man is quite simple", where he plays Gorodulina (2002), and in the modern tabloid comedy R. Kuni "Thirteenth number, where he played the role of Manager (2004). In the production of Valery Fokin based on the St. Petersburg poem by F. Dostoevsky “Double” Mikhail Dolginin played the sharp grotesque role of the brilliant secular dandy Vladimir Semenovich, the lucky rival of the main character (2005). And in the play “Inspector” N.V. Gogol from the current season Mikhail Dolginin plays the role of Pochmeister.
Mikhail Dolginin has long been successfully engaged in theatrical pedagogy. At the invitation of his teacher, People’s Artist of the USSR Igor Gorbachev, he taught acting at the School of Russian Drama, where he staged Chekhov’s vaudevilles “Proposal and Jubilee” with students. Today, Mikhail Dolginin heads the theater studio at the Herzen Pedagogical University.
In 2006 he was awarded the Pushkin Medal (Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 392 of April 17, 2006).
