Actor of theater and cinema, Honored Artist of the RSFSR Yevgeny Lazarev was born on March 31, 1937 in Minsk. He graduated from the Moscow Art Theater in 1954, after which he began playing in the Mossovet Theater. Since 1959 he worked as an actor of the Riga Theatre of Russian Drama, in 1961 he joined the troupe of the Mayakovsky Academic Theatre.
In 1984, Evgeny Lazarev moved to the Theatre on Malaya Bronnaya, where he became the main director.
