John Mahoney is a British actor and producer. Born to an Irish family, John was the eighth child. Mahoney Sr. was a baker. Even as a child, the future celebrity took lessons in stage skills in the St. Nicholas Theater. This inspired John to become an actor. John graduated from Illinois at Quincy University. To speed up the process of obtaining American citizenship, John joined the United States Army. In 1959, he became a full citizen of the United States.
