Omar Epps (full name Omar Hashim Epps) was born on June 20, 1973 in Brooklyn, New York. He grew up without a father, and his upbringing was handled only by his mother, who served as the headmaster of the school. In 1991, Omar and his brother formed the band Wolfpak, where they rap.
