American actress Regina King was born in 1971 in Los Angeles. She chose her profession as a child, when she began taking acting lessons. Regina was very young when she was offered the lead role in the television sitcom 227 on NBC.
In 1988, King became a student at the University of Southern California. At the same time continued to act, but now played more serious roles in the films “Guys next door” and “Poetic Justice”. And in 1995, the young actress received two significant offers at once - about filming in the drama Higher Education and the cult comedy Friday.
But the real fame brought her repeatedly awarded film “Jerry Maguire”, which had a large box office. In this picture, Regina played a small role as the wife of the main character. The same role fell in her creative biography twice more – in the comedy The Fine Line between Love and Hate and the thriller Enemy of the State. And the partners were famous actors Martin Lawrence and Will Smith.
In the late 90s, King's filmography was replenished with two more notable films: "Mighty Joe Young" and "Stella's Fascination."
In 2002, Regina received an offer from NBC to star in the television sitcom The Power of Faith. But this series had an unlucky history, and after the 6th series the project was closed.
In 2003, the actress again began working in the big movie. She starred in the comedies “Law Blonde 2”, “Daddy on duty”,
Miss Congeniality-2 "Cinderella Story." A year later, she played a backing vocalist in the film “Ray”. She approached this role with all seriousness, having previously collected full information about the prototype of the heroine. As a result, the actress was recognized as the best supporting actress and received the Image and Satellite awards.
The creative life of the wonderful actress continues. She voices cartoons, acts in TV series.
She has a growing son, Ian Alexander. She divorced his father a few years ago.
