Born in the village of Fishing Leningrad region. During the Great Patriotic War, the boy survived the blockade of Leningrad. He was awarded the Badge “Resident of Siege Leningrad”.
For 48 years of creative career Gubanov L.I. played more than 60 roles. For the performance of many roles he was awarded at various festivals with the title of laureate and diplomas. In 1971 he was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor by the Government Decree, and in 1989 he was awarded the title of People’s Artist of the USSR.
In recent years, L.I. Gubanov delighted the audience with his beautiful play in the plays of A. Ostrovsky: “Every sage is quite simple” in the role of Gorodulin and “Forest” in the role of Milonov.
All his life, L.I. Gubanov led an active social activity. Constantly elected to various elected bodies of Moscow, was a permanent member of the Art Council of the Gorky Moscow Art Theatre.
The management and staff of the theater for the 75th anniversary recommended People’s Artist of the USSR L.I. Gubanov to be awarded. In January 2004, by the Decree of the President of Russia, he was awarded the Order of Friendship.
