Sergey Vladimirovich Mikhalkov was born on March 13, 1913 in Moscow in the family of Vladimir Alexandrovich Mikhalkov and Olga Mikhailovna Mikhalkova, nee Glebova.

The influence of these poets strongly affects the children's poetic experiences of Sergei, the boy also loves Lermontov, Krylov and Nekrasov. Since the age of nine, Sergey has been trying to write poems that were judged mainly by his family. The first printed poem appears already in Pyatigorsk, where in 1927 the Mikhalkov family moves.
In 1930, Sergei Mikhalkov after graduating from school came to Moscow. Since 1933, his name has not faded from the pages of central publications - poems are constantly published. Fame to the poet and recognition comes to him when in 1935 he decides to compose a poem for children “Uncle Stepa”. Since then, editions of this work have exceeded twenty million copies.
Another significant event in the literary activity of Sergei Mikhalkov is the creation of the second edition of the State Anthem of the USSR in 1943 together with G. El-Registan.
From his first marriage to Natalia Petrovna Konchalovskaya, Sergey has two children.
Andrea And Nikita, who later brilliantly continue the creative dynasty of the Mikhalkovs. The second wife of Sergei Mikhalkov is Yulia Valerievna Subbotina.
