The outstanding Soviet actor Grigory Spiegel was born in tsarist Russia. It happened in 1914, July 24, in the city of Samara. His family was ordinary. And Gregory’s life at first went as usual. He acquired a working specialty and worked as a pleater at a dyeing factory in Leningrad.
But then the young man became interested in art and went to study at the Central School of Amateur Theatre in Moscow, at the director's faculty. And quite shortly before the Great Patriotic War, in 1940, he graduated from the acting school, which functioned at the Mosfilm film studio.
The career of Grigory Spiegel did not develop quite as the actor dreamed. He had almost no major roles in the movie. But Spiegel starred a lot in episodes. Thanks to his bright talent and unique, recognizable timbre of voice, he was rightly considered a unique master of the episode.

He also played a small but memorable role of the charming thief Alkhen, who led the choir of old women from the almshouse, in Mark Zakharov’s 12 Chairs (1971). At the same time, the actor was capable of deep roles. So, his dramatic talent was manifested, for example, in the films “The Idiot” (1958) and “Bold People” (1950).
Grigory Spiegel served in the theater-studio actor in Moscow. In 1974 he received the title of Honored Artist of the RSFSR. He voiced many cartoons, in particular, “The Adventures of Captain Wrungel” (1976), “The Mystery of the Third Planet” (1978), etc.
He died on April 28, 1981. He was buried at the Vvedensky cemetery in Moscow.
