Born in Moscow. In 1957 he graduated from the acting faculty of the B. Shchukin Theatre School, worked as an actor in the Pushkin Theatre, the theater-studio of the film actor. Winner of the All-Union Film Festival in 1986 in the nomination "Award for Director".
