The family had six children, and after the death of his mother, all the care of upbringing fell on the shoulders of his father, who worked for hire in various theaters as a decorator. In 1925, Vera graduated from the ten-year school of working youth, while attending an evening theater studio. The year of graduation coincided with the sad event - the death of her father, and the girl went to her sister in Leningrad, where she entered the theater studio Proletkult.
Since 1928, Vera Kuznetsova began to play on stage. On November 19, 1933, the premiere of the play “Mad Money” by A. N. Ostrovsky, staged by a student of V. E. Meyerhold – director Isaac Krol. Vera and twenty other actors played in the play. Thus was born the theater, called the New. Later Meyerhold moved to Moscow, and the theater was headed by S. E. Radlov. In this theater, Vera Andreevna played dozens of roles, including Poles in the play “Petersburgers”, Anna in Gorky’s play “At the Bottom”, Sandyreva in “Happy Day”, Valya in “Russian People”, Efimchik in “Youth of Fathers”, Hope in “Man with a Gun”, Eremeevna in Fonfizin’s play “Nedorosl”, Atuev in “Dele” and others. Vera Andreyevna Kuznetsova’s performance has been enjoyed by theatergoers for 45 years.
In the movie, Kuznetsova got her first big role in 1955 in the film Big Family, where she played the mother of the Zhurbin family, Agafia Karpovna. For this work, she received a prize at the IX International Film Festival in Cannes. Further, the actress had, mainly episodic, but always memorable roles in the films “Before the Storm”, “Winter Morning, Floodwater”, “Two Lives”, “Meek”, “Eugene Onegin”, “The Rumyantsev Case”,
The White Queen's Walk and others.
With her husband, actor Anatoly Ivanovich Kuznetsov, the actress lived all her life. In this marriage, two sons were born – Vsevolod and Yuri. Actor Vsevolod Kuznetsov is their son.
Vera Andreevna died in 1984. She was buried at the Bolsheokhtinsky cemetery next to her husband and youngest son Yuri.
