The closure of the school in 1936 did not allow to complete training, but the actor, of course, did not refuse his vocation.
Starting this year, Sergey Ivanovich becomes an artist of the Moscow Youth Theatre, and after the beginning of the war he was sent to the city of Krasnoyarsk, to work in the Pushkin Theatre.
Even before the end of the war, or rather, in 1944, Kurilov returned to Moscow, where until 1946 he played first in the Vakhtangov Theater, and then the Satire Theater.
In 1947, Sergei began his career as a film actor.

Sergey Ivanovich Kurilov starred in a large number of films. I would like to note the most successful: Eletsky in the film “The Freeloader”, Victor, the hero of the film “Big Family”, General Polovtsev “Two Lives”, Andrei Doroshenko the film “Kievlyanka”, General Bocharov the film “Dead Season”, Markov “The Heart of Bonivur”, Milyutin “Heroes of Shipki”, Radin “And this is all about him”. This is not the entire list of films in which the actor perfectly coped with the role, he starred in almost fifty films.
In addition to working in the cinema, Sergey Kurilov duplicated more than a hundred roles and participated in several performances.
In the 70s, the actor developed foot disease, because of which he was less and less removed, as he could not stay on the set for a long time. The actor died on January 11, 1987. /
