Sergey Apollinarievich Gerasimov is a famous Soviet actor, film director and screenwriter. His first images on television were clear and rich, with a characteristic grotesque and avant-garde. His directorial works are pure examples of socialist realism, with all its truth and naturalness. Gerasimov himself invented most of the scripts for his films.
Sergey was born in 1906 in the village of Kundravy, Orenburg province. After school he studied at the Leningrad Art School. Then he graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Scenic Arts. His acting career began in the workshop of FEX (Factory of the Eccentric Actor). And his debut film was the film “Bears against Yudenich”, he was then nineteen.
Sergey Gerasimov was an excellent director of several dozen films. Among his films -

Gerasimov did his job with pleasure and responsibility, cinema became a part of his whole life. He tried to discover something new, to reveal the unknown, paying great attention to realistic art. His teaching work was no less talented than the production of films. He easily found common ground with students, fueling theoretical knowledge with practical work.
Sergey Apollinarievich felt all his characters from the inside, he managed to convey their experiences, views, through actions and emotional images. He played in

On the set of “The Lion of Tolstoy” Gerasimov had to lie in the coffin. His colleagues discouraged him, considering it a bad omen. But work is work. The scene was shot. A few months later, Sergei Apollinarievich was hospitalized, where he underwent heart surgery. On the night of November 28, 1985, he died. He was buried at the Novodevichy cemetery in Moscow.
