Writer and director Lawrence Kasdan was born in Miami Beach on January 14, 1949. A classic baby boomer, he decided to pursue a career in film at a very early age, although it seemed to everyone that after graduating from the University of Michigan, Lawrence would modestly teach English literature. It took a lot of time to achieve this goal (although Kazdan did well in the advertising business).
Kasdan started with scripts. After writing a couple of three, he received an order from George Lucas for the films The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, and later, Hunters for the Lost Ark.
Kasdan's second film as a director - "Big Chill" (Big Chill) - became a hit, not so much because of the topical theme at the time, but because of the cleverly composed acting ensemble - Kevin Kline, Glenn Close, Jeff Goldblum, Tom Berenger and Jobet Williams in one bottle. And Kevin Costner as the headless corpse.
Apparently, feeling some obligation to Costner, Kasdan took him to the film "Silverado" - a new version of the ancient plot about good and bad cowboys. True to his habit, Kazdan once again brought to the screen a crowd of people, of which at least one did honor any film. So, in the second (!!) roles he worked Linda Hunt, Jeff Goldblum, Jeff Fahey and Rebecca De Mornay.
