Thanks to his work in the films The Avengers (1998) and Velvet Goldmine (1998), as well as the tour Dressed to Kill, he gained fame in the film world on both sides of the Atlantic and got a role in the film The Shadow of the Vampire (2000), where his partners were John Malkovich, Willem Dafoe and Stephen Fry. In 2001, in Peter Bogdanovich’s film Death in Hollywood, Eddie Izzard created the image of Charlie Chaplin on the screen.
