Daniel Hugh Kelly was born and raised in Elizabeth, New Jersey. After graduating from St. Vincent College in Pennsylvania, Kelly successfully entered and no less successfully graduated from prestigious theater courses at Catholic University in Washington. His name first became known after the actor played Frank Ryan in the TV series Ryan's Hope.
