Anthony Zerbe was born in California and at the age of nineteen dropped out of college in Pomona to move to New York City and enroll in Stella Adler's theater studio. After serving a short term in the Air Force, Zerbe became an actor and toured around the country with many bands. Among the famous theatrical works, one can note the role of Iago in Othello and the title role in Cyrano de Bergerac. In 1990, Zerbe finally settled in one theater, agreeing to become the acting director of the GeV Theatre in Rochester.
