The film is fully consistent with the title given by our translators. It has a powerful beginning and a powerful end, everything else is very boring and uninteresting. Well, from the end, to put it mildly, I am in complete shock. I spit on Barbie, but it wasn't as nasty as here. Even before Barbie, they showed a world where all men are villains, and one “great” Margot Robbie here shows everyone Kuzkin’s mother.
Despite the fact that the movie is about an hour and a half, I can say that the film lasts a very long time. It’s like watching an empty three-hour movie, and that’s what happened. The movie is empty and meaningless.
The only thing that I highlighted is the work of the camera and the work of the stylists, they worked very well on the image of Robbie. Visually, the film is pretty good. The beginning of the film at some point was impressive, even liked somewhere, but as soon as the empty, unnecessary dialogue that mostly filled the film began, it became terribly boring to watch.
Almost the whole movie is watching the conversation in a cafe where no one really goes, well, to me it's a very boring move of the director. And only in the denouement, the director gives Margot Robbie to break off to the fullest, which she does. For the rest, there is essentially nothing to say. Simon Pegg had a little fun at first, but then he started playing very superficially. Mike Myers at some point breathed life into this weird film, but what happened next, except horror, can not be called.
Margot Robbie. I admit it's overrated, it's the same face, the same facial expressions, even the dialogue is very similar to what Harley said. The stylists did a good job on her. She plays another woman who has been hurt, broken, and deprived of her childhood. Sincerity zero, interest zero, sympathy zero. The whole movie was waiting for her to be torn. But alas, the men of this film are worthless, weak and who are led by no one. And outwardly, to put it mildly, not so cool as they say. Hultura. It's like Harley Quinn was given a different direction.
There are no words about men to describe their motivation. The characters are stupid, boring, uninteresting, the script is disgusting. If you tell me to name the characters by their names, fortunately I won't. They are not really remembered and are immediately forgotten after viewing.
The ending is a very weak and stupid story. Where everything is directed towards Margot Robbie. She's playing a crazy woman again, and she's freaking out. There's not much action, there's a lot of dialogue, the ending is too feminine. Men are all weak without a rod, without emotions and without motivation. Disclosures zero. As always, men are all scoundrels, all scoundrels. I'm going to make a good start. Excellent visuals and excellent camera work.
I love the genre of noir and neonoir, at least because it is not rolled up by a Hollywood machine and has not yet had time to fill the edge.
The premiere of the film “Terminal” by newbie Vaughn Stein, I somehow missed. But then I had the chance to watch a couple, three times. Why is there so much, you ask, considering that the review is negative? So the first time I didn’t beat ‘Finished’ (why is the name adaptation) despite the genre appealing to me. What's wrong with that?
Whatever the audience said, the main thing in the film is still the plot. This is the weakest point of the Terminal. In the center of the story is a multifaceted girl Annie (Margot Robbie), who leads her game among the mafiosi, murderers and simply unclean residents of the city. Her most important weapon is the protruding sexuality that she uses to achieve her goal. Annie’s motives remain unclear until the end. Allegedly... Although a lot is predictable. The script has a lot of inaccuracies, inconsistencies, plot dampness. References to other phenomena of pop culture, literature and cult cinema do not help. All the heroes, of which there are very few, have no motivation. Straight, clumsy, stupid.
The second weakness of the film is the much praised sex icon Margot Robbie. Since I am not interested in the attractive appearance of the actress, I can safely say that she failed her homework. The worst part is that the actress has potential. But on the basis of a poorly written character, she gave something ala to Harley Quinn. Plays just cold madness eyes and facial expressions in the usual manner. All this ugliness against the background of bright neon signs in screaming outfits and makeup.
Of the pluses, perhaps, that only bright picture, beautiful costumes of the main character and the final soundtrack. But to bet and wait for success only because you have a Hollywood beauty involved in the project, frankly, a disgrace for cinema in the 21st century.
The verdict is this: a flat and banal story, like a dummy wrapped in a shiny wrapper.

I have always believed that the goal of any art is to immerse the consumer (the viewer) in the state of “catharsis” & #39; This definition was given by Aristotle. But what if you want to put someone with a negative life experience like Margot Robbie in that state? If she's portrayed as an innocent victim, wouldn't that be the main trigger for hunting people like an English teacher? Is there a way out for such people? Well, if you immerse yourself in the state of 'catharsis' its prototypes in life, it will naturally save them from a fatal mistake, the desire to kill their abuser many years later, but such a bold director is akin to self-sacrifice, since his idea will not be understood by most viewers. Tough choices.
And yes, there are prototypes. I personally listened to stories of how they found such teachers decades later and stood above them, putting a gun to their heads. In this film, I see their genuine emotions. It is expected that most people who have not experienced this personally will not understand what is happening on the screen. But I’m sure those who have gone through it themselves will thank the director and the actors for putting out the years-long fire of fury in their hearts.
There were always sparks in her eyes. She wanted adventure. Once she could not resist a crooked man. But life is cruel, and the world is too small.
So begins the final denouement of this postmodern neo-noir. And it is a matter of taste of the audience with what exactly to compare this picture. You can find parallels with the story of Slevin (the story of revenge, rooted in a distant childhood). And you can find a stylistic match with 'Hotel Noir' - the film is exactly the same way broken into disparate fragments that come together only for the finale. You can even hide behind Lewis Carroll mentioned in the final, claiming that we have a new version of 'Alice'. And you can remember about the early ribbons of Guy Ricci - from 'Revolver' to 'Cards, money and two barrels'. I think all the comparisons will be true.
The film is woven from elements of previously tested solutions. There's nothing original here. And the director's bet is obvious - arrogance, brightness, decadence, the atmosphere of a nightclub - a kind of gloss, without the ringing of beer glasses, stale air and falling chairs. In the center of such an extravaganza should be a star, which should captivate the viewer on a long journey through the steep labyrinth of plot moves. Margot Robbie was perfect for this role.
And everything in this tape before the denouement seemed to me quite well done, worthy of average marks. Yes, I will not hide the fact that such films involve expressive final chords that turn everything on its head. This film is no exception. And here is the final ' coup ' to my taste it turned out completely unpretentious. Sufficiently large-scale plot construction was reduced to the level of the episode 'Tales from the crypt' Even the appearance of Margot Robbie in such a finale rather belittled the entire image she created, rather than giving a new disclosure of the role.

The movie Terminal, which our distributors called first “Finite”, and then “Finnish”, became the film that definitely has something in it, but in general it is such a thrash that by the end of the film you do not know how to characterize your impressions – like it or not. More like it than not. The film is quite specific – it is a kind of art house, only in the Hollywood manner – everything is very strange, colorful and sudden.
There is a suspense pointing to a thriller, there is a detective line, there is gloom in bright colors, depression and dissecting her smile Margot Robbie, who became a real star of this picture. The film is her benefit, although there are other colorful characters. Why “Finite” was renamed “Finished” becomes clear in the process of viewing – and this is not just a play on words. The name fits well. Both. The heroine Margot Robbie is like a multi-layered bulb, you remove layer by layer, and the closer to the core, the more emotions arise in the viewer.
The heroine of Margot Robbie, Annie, manipulates people with whom she seems to accidentally encounter life, playing her unique role with each. These people don’t seem to know each other, but Annie definitely has some kind of plan to pit these people against each other. Several completely different men find themselves at the center of her game, and watching this psychological twist is very exciting. The film ends unusually, this is exactly the kind of denouement the viewer is not waiting for.
A terrible film that does not save even the presence in it of Margot Roby and other equally beautiful and sexy characters. But alas, I'm straight and I can't fully appreciate Simon Pegg in terms of sex. But I can appreciate acting! And that’s probably the only good part of this movie.
A messy plot trying to confuse you, not so that you think and logically figure out what the trick is. The plot is confusing only for the sake of becoming similar to the story style of Lewis Carroll, who carefully pokes the whole movie in your face with a smart look. But as it often happens, if you try to imitate, and not create something new with the base of the inspirer, it turns out complete nonsense, and not the most interesting.
Criminal success stories are a path in which for a long time there have been a large number of really brilliant people like Scorsese, Guy Ritchie and you can continue this list indefinitely. And, therefore, the bar of criminal films has been raised to cosmic proportions. You either make a masterpiece, or not the best series 'The Deaf' With the above, you know what happened.
I am very sad that this film, with a good soundtrack, with acceptable costumes and scenery, and most importantly, with native actors and puberty (MARGO I LOVE YOU), turns into an incomprehensible farce with an uninteresting guessable plot and terrible dialogue.
Plus, I don't understand the moment with the name when you could Google the translator to type Terminal, and oh, a great title that describes what's going on. But we have what we have...
I am disappointed that people of the future will worship Margot Robbie and Simon Pegg as heroes of the past, and those who disagree will hold this film as a relic, as the Bible of the Antichrist.
For Vaughn Stein, the film 'Terminal' was the debut in a feature-length feature film. And he began quite peculiarly, chose the style of neonoir. This is a very difficult genre for production and perception, but, of course, it is loved by critics, because they love everything unusual. But the modern viewer, rather, buy a ticket to some mainstream like the next adventures about superheroes. But in the sleeve of Vaughn Stein kept one serious trump card - the main role in 'Terminal' agreed to play herself Margot Robbie, one of the most beautiful and highly paid actresses of recent times. Almost the name of Margot Robbie can be recognized by the name-brand, because one of her enough on the poster and the viewer one way or another will reach the cinema, especially the viewer representing the male half of humanity. And the team to Robbie added Simon Pegg, Dexter Fletcher and Mike Myers. In general, there was an opinion, why not watch this neonoir?
But after watching it, the opposite was true – why did I watch it? If you remove from the film the high-quality work of make-up artists, costumers and hairdressers, it turns out that in 'Terminal' and look at the bottom of it is nothing. No, of course, there's the delightful Margot Robbie, who keeps her eye magnetized when she's in a bright red cape and defiant makeup, a real femme fatale, and for amateurs ' Fifty Shades...' can become the most attractive and desirable way. But, to confess, this was not enough from the actress, who valiantly withstood the test of a dramatic role in ' Tone Against All' than she deserved a nomination for ' Oscar', but it still seemed that Robbie did not completely leave the image of Harley Quinn from ' Suicide Squad'. She was also very spectacular and diligently performed her role, but still the potential of Margot is wider and would like to see her in a deeper and more emotional film.
In general, this can be stopped about Margot Robbie, although she is the main star of the film, but there is something else to tell. In 'Terminal' absolutely disliked the script. It seems that everything is necessary in it - and intrigue, and mystery, and incomprehensible, strange personalities, but Von Stein, who also became the sole screenwriter of the film, feels confused. He so persistently imposed on his offspring the effect of mystery and understatement that in the end this led to the fact that the secrets were not really revealed, and the understatement remained unsaid. Von Stein's characters are, too. With some, it may also turn out to be something whole and expressive, but others remained incomprehensible ' Passengers' In addition, some of the characters Stein worked out the mask of shocking and disgusting people, but on the screen it was not particularly impressive, it remained only to shake his shoulders, saying: ' And this is all that was led?' The director of the film overdid with great significance, although it can be understood, because I wanted to declare myself so loudly from the first film, so the neonoir was selected. But the first pancake, as they say.
In addition to Margot Robbie, as mentioned above, there are several well-known actors. Let's start with Simon Pegg. Admittedly, I liked his work with Nick Frost, for example, in the trilogy of three cornetto tastes & #39; but he is not bad in the hyped Hollywood franchises & #39; Mission: Impossible' and 'Star Trek' where he confidently holds the brand of an important supporting character. In 'Terminal' Simon Pegg, like the others, was assigned the role of a man with ' double bottom'. And Pegg seems to stand out, but, admittedly, it was still boring. By the way, the storyline with his hero still fell out of the main narrative. Mike Myers appeared in an unusual form, but still a star ' Austin Powers' recognizable. But honestly, it would be better not to take this role. Why? There's no explanation or spoiler. And Dexter Fletcher, along with partner on the set Max Irons painfully created images of partner-killers, remotely reminiscent of Vincent Vega and Jules Winnfield from ' Pulp Fiction' but they completely failed. In addition, here again appeared such a common for 'Terminal' a mistake - the characters were so trying to give meaning and mystery that in fact everything turned out to be empty.
By the way, there are complaints not only with the creators of this film, but also with our favorite distributors. The fact is that lexically unpleasant word ' Ended' greatly reduces hearing. It is clear that they did not want complete consonance with the famous tape of Steven Spielberg & #39; Terminal & #39; with Tom Hanks in the title role, but is it really so few words in Russian as Ellochka-man-eater? At least ' Ending stop' would be called, say, and not this vulgar name ' Ended'. And if we go back to the film itself, then the positive point here is a little: the defiant makeup Margot Robbie, the work of hairdressers and costume designers, not the worst work of the operator and a well-chosen soundtrack; but there are much more negative moments, especially this applies to the script, an example can be that the main antagonist is calculated at the speed of sound. But still, we wish good luck to debutant Von Stein, maybe he will continue to do better?

A juicy neon cover, a famous cast, an intriguing synopsis and a very ' original' localization of the title of the picture - it seemed reasons for visiting the cinema more than enough. Vaughn Stein’s debut attracts attention not only with these trump cards, but also with the return to the big screen of comedian Mike Myers. It’s impossible to miss this one.
The plot of the picture brings several unfamiliar characters together on the same station of the London subway. The only link between them is a fatal beauty who works as a waitress in a local cafe. And the girl has plans for each of the men present at the station.
The debut in the big movie of Orwell fan Vaughn Stein presents the viewer with a rich neonoir allusion to the work of Lewis Carroll, who knows the narrative of her work within the framework of a chamber film in which the action takes place mainly in the same gloomy London subway, illuminated by the lights of neon signs. Under the roofs of the station and a local cafe, the author confronts characters unfamiliar at first glance with each other, paying attention to dialogues that occupy the lion’s share of timekeeping. The characters and performers of the main roles are colorful and charismatic: a couple of eternally arguing killers, a lost and morally broken teacher, an inconspicuous room cleaner and a fatal beauty in the very center of events. But, for all the excellent artistic work with an abundance of colorful scenery, bright images and playing with flowers, unfortunately, nothing is hidden. The dialogue in the film tries to maintain Tarantine wit, but the unwritten and empty characters have nothing to say. This is the main weakness ' Ended' - the script exists only for the sake of the idea, but is not able to implement it correctly: all the plot twists of the picture literally predict themselves and the limited setting turns the work into an amateur theatrical production inspired by the works of Agatha Christie, the main element of which could easily be improvisation. And only thanks to the cast in the picture there is at least some life and the main stars are certainly the characters of Margot Robbie and Mike Myers, although the roles they perform are already well known to the viewer: still fresh memories of Harley Quinn, and Mike Myers' toothy facial expressions are simply impossible to forget. But, vivid images and color manipulations are not enough to be called a film.
Welcome to the station ' Ended' please leave. About the broken and left in the room hopes inform the screenwriter.
" Robbie, Robbie, Robbinson, walking the planet.
In Robbinson season is good in the world!

There is no need to write about the advantages and disadvantages of the picture. The film is smooth and boring, in terms of stupidity and twists of the plot close to “Trump Aces”, where there is a lot of pathos, poses and little meaning. The most important thing in this movie and what is worth discussing is her! Margot Robbie and nobody else. A film for her, for her, and about her new image. It's like Polar movies with Alain Delon, no matter who he is, a gangster, a cop. We know that with an unobtrusive smile he will seduce a stunning beauty, with a slight bewilderment on his face will shoot at the pursuers or stick a knife in the hand of a villain. This film is made for the mad smile of the main character.
Margot Robbie must cultivate madness. After all, she held the "Suicide Squad". And everyone offers her the roles of figure skaters and drama. This film is a step towards becoming a female action film heroine. They're gone now. Michelle Rodriguez is not superstar. The rest is enough for 1-2 films. After Tarzan and Squad, there is silence. A girl in her prime. Ruby Rose is on her heels. And now during the race it is time to produce a project similar to the adventures of crazy Harley Queen. Everything is expensive and rich, even stylish. The meaning in it is not much, but again there is an opportunity to flaunt Harvey's crazy look and grin. The image is sticky, like the sticky image of Jack Sparrow for Depp. Turn your eyes in the same style. The partners are the impeccable Simon Pegg and other actors similar to the English. A little chamber narrative is diluted with the proper amount of ultraviolence. This is the new Angelina Jolie, a super sexy girl with a gun. Sex noir. Pegg is organic, the others overplay where and who Mike Myers is I never moved in.
The play of words, when "Terminal" is translated as the final (station), and then the letters change and it turns out "Finished" I also did not lead to condemnation. Distributors showed imagination and let the main character curtsey. It's not called "Young Harley."
Despite today’s preponderance of red reviews, I’m sure the film will gain ratings in the future and the Greens will win. Today there is not much and there is a demand for a heterosexual girl with mild perversions.
Some kind of neo-noir paintings can be quite high-quality and certainly interesting. Watch the plot of such things, as well as admire their visual style when viewing sometimes want more and more. Unfortunately, such projects are incredibly few, and even fewer of them are of high quality in such an entourage. Director 'Terminal' Vaughn Stein decided to perform in the specified setting, well, what's there, a kind of genre. But unfortunately, the director-debutant trained a whole bunch of ideas from various criminal projects, but in the end just wildly screwed up.
The plot of the picture will introduce the viewer to the dangerous world of assassins, insidious and cruel, in which betrayal and death coexist side by side. It is in this world that the main character lives 'Terminal' - Annie. At the same time, the viewer is not given almost the slightest idea of what goals Annie pursues and why she decided to connect her future with criminals, murderers, and herself to become such.
To be honest, I have not seen such a visually beautiful, but at the same time negligible toothless division in a long time. The plot ' Terminal' is given to us by a number of very intricate scenes, which seem to be initially not too related to each other, but gradually emerge into one general picture, which, like puzzles, should develop in the perception of the viewer. And then immediately blew the pictures of the Coen, Richie and Tarantino, but if there it was all done competently, interestingly and with a twist, then here worked as if a student of elementary school, who completely stupid rubbed all the episodes of the film. In 'Terminal' as in those projects of cinema, on which he focuses, just full of dialogue, but only if the above-mentioned author these dialogues really have meaning, a certain subtext, and even some wit with a bit of humor, then there is nothing here. Characters talk about everything, and essentially nothing at once. The dialogue is so low quality that you always feel like you're looking at a couple of idiots who all of a sudden decided to start a conversation. And that’s just the dialogue that fills the whole movie. Yes, the ' Terminal' a very decent visual style, all this empty city, with its neon, fog and abandoned streets looks attractive, and the musical accompaniment sometimes adds a lot of advantages to the atmosphere, but as soon as the creators try to tell the story, all these things recede into the background, and then completely break about the tastelessness that is happening on the screen. Of the actors to single out perhaps no one, especially since there are half disabled, except probably Margot Robbie. But for some reason Margot again plays Harley Quinn, with her hysterical smile and manic thoughts and actions. By the end of the film, you just get tired of these things, although Margot herself in a red coat against the background of the neo-noir atmosphere looks sometimes damn good.
Von Stein managed to pull some incredible amount of things from the repertoire of more eminent authors, but to put all this together turned out to be quite an exorbitant task. And frankly, not even Margot Robbie can save it. It would be possible, of course, to work in more detail on the plot, but alas, most of it is guessed almost in advance, and things that, according to the authors’ plan, should eventually surprise the viewer, look like something completely faded and secondary. And if it is worth watching 'Terminal', then only being a very big fan of Margot Robbie, otherwise, it is without a trace a dry spectacle, from the dullness of which you will want to rest after the first twenty minutes.

I haven't seen a good crime scene in a long time. And I didn’t expect that the new film with Margot Robbie will be a representative of this genre. In the trailer, it seemed like something else. Without reading about the film, I just clicked on the play and plunged into criminal dusk, illuminated by the flickering of neon signs and the brilliance of Margot Robbie's manic smile. Burning, sharp, foggy, lying, sexually charged - something that pops up in the head while watching. The film is a noir candy wrapped in the mystery of the books of Lewis Carroll.
And Margot Robbie, OMG, Margot Robbie! She is an amazingly manic danger waiting for you at every turn; seductive madness in the guise of a beautiful woman; the embodiment of insidious unpredictability and slight madness on the screen. Harley Quinn is cheap compared to this lady.
With such visual details, this film is so good. Is it light that momentarily turned the heroine’s face into an empty skull? Or just the lips that can convey any emotion. Smoke from cigarettes in the frame, as a separate art form. The palette of all existing tones of black, dark blue and only a flashing bright red coat tightened with a belt at a thin waist. This movie wasn't made. I feel like he was painted.
A genuine atmosphere. It’s a great example of your genre.
To begin with, I do not really like when around the film, even before the release, create an excessive “hype”. In this case, through the name. The legend that was told from each iron: the name "Terminal" for rental, allegedly, did not fit, because it was quite a good "Terminal" with Tom Hanks. Therefore, based on several phrases in the film itself, the name "Finite" was chosen, which (professionalism - 5) turned into "Finished" when printed. The story, of course, is intriguing, but, in my opinion, a bit too much.
The movie itself was really fun. The director’s attempts to shoot something “cult” are obvious, and therefore ridiculous. Anyone who has watched can easily name the three directors Vaughn Stein (Tarantino, Richie, Burton) is trying to copy and compile. But it turns out, frankly, not very. Margot Robbie is stuck with Harley Quinn and doesn't look fresh or convincing. The plot, by the way, is not bad, but everything is so drawn out and tedious that even good (in places) dialogues do not save.
In fact, the director killed a good script with his “vision.” The abundance of neon in the gloomy picture and frank budget (few locations, few actors). Especially funny are losers who do not carry any semantic load at all - they just exist. Twice. Although, the same Tarantino, I think, would have found a better place in the story.
In general, it's an outright hoop. You can watch it, but not for money.
"The End", in my humble opinion, is an absolutely unsuccessful film in many of its components.
The plot is not only boring and drawn-out, it is also blurry. I feel like I’m watching the movie in a state of drug intoxication. This may be influenced by an overabundance of neon, but I believe that the combination of bright and gloomy at the same time is clearly not good for the picture. Although saturated colors are the only, I think, the advantage of the film.
I am also disappointed with the acting. Margot Robbie played in Harley Quinn and her character clearly does not cause emotions. The creators, apparently, decided to hype on the successful image of the psychopath from "Suicide Squad", but outside the universe DC her madness looks strained and second-rate. A couple of hitmen looks like a parody of template comedy thieves. Talking about the eternal, which filled the film, do not carry anything important. Empty chatter.
The whole picture consists of absolutely boring dialogue. If you have severe insomnia, I would recommend this film. I advise you not to waste your precious time on "finished". There is nothing to lose...
Sad times are now in Hollywood: everywhere pseudofeminism and body positivity, on this wave in fashion simple faces in the style of “the girl from our backyard”, the beauties of the past years are not eternal – Angelina and Monica have only memories, and Charlize in five years will cease to be the beauty from which everyone is crazy. Appearing on the Hollywood horizon, Miss Robbie gave hope that the beauties of Hollywood would be. No, really, Margot is great at playing sexy bitches, that in "The Wolf of Wall Street," that in "Suicide Squad," she was matchless. Dangerous, brash, sexy. Watching the movie “Finite”, which turned into an ugly “Finnish”, I suspected that the film was planned for the beauty of Robbie.
The main heroine is a femm fatale with red lips, a mad stripper, a hired killer and an avenger. Fans of Margot could rejoice if, in addition to the charms of the actress, in the film there was such a modest thing as the script. In one tangle intertwined childhood injuries and obscene teacher, father-scumbag and victim-mother, a difficult childhood and intrigues in the style of “caught all the killers-competitors”. The ingredients for the film are very good, the main thing is to cook correctly. Von Stein, a director not yet known, acted like a schoolboy from a Soviet cartoon: he waved at everything and said “And so it will go!” I bet Margot is very seductive, but this is not a video about living at the bottom of vice. The company of the actress consists of actors Mike Myers (he is again Doctor Evil), Simon Pegg and Dexter Fletcher. For girls of tender age - sweet Max Irons. A company that utters meaningless but bombastic phrases. From time to time, references to the book “Alice in Wonderland” pop up. With the same success, the characters could mention “Harry Potter”, “War and Peace”, to quote Stephen King, because the semantic meaning of the quotes do not carry, they do not reveal the characters, are not clues to the solution. These are just beautiful words for prophesy, like neon light or a deliberate retro image of the heroine Robbie.
A film with good potential turned into a dull and hour-and-a-half video, after watching which one question remains - why was it filmed at all?
The slogan of the film "Guys, I'm back!" reveals the essence of the film. No sexual violence is forgotten, and there will always be unavoidable punishment for it. Girls are defenseless, but women can stand up for themselves and, if necessary, avenge the honor they have been abused. The main heroine revenge, to the man who abused her, turns into a game with mystification. Everything is played to the notes, and the revenge of this femme fatale will not stop. A woman can take revenge even after years if her honor was once abused.
This film is about the revenge of a once abused woman. It's a talking film. All the characters say something, someone quotes. The main characters do nothing but smoke and drink tea. The film smokes, but there is no tobacco smoke, so that people are not addicted to this destructive action. The film is made under comic noir, where the main character is emphasized dressed in the style of a vamp woman. The main character constantly smokes, seducing a young killer, and constantly smiles. Her smile and the clothes of the Wamp woman lead the viewer to a dead end. Behind all the conversations of the characters of the film is not a clear fatal game. You don’t know what the main character wants to do.
The intrigue holds well, and the conversations of the main characters, the viewer does not understand the play of the main character. The film is in very dark shades, which says: “revenge is a progressive concept of the picture.” The main character quotes the Mad Hatter, which reveals the whole style of Lewis Carroll (this is the “mad” design of the film). It was very nice to see actor Mike Myers (he starred in the trilogy “Austin Powers”): it’s a shame that he completely passed, got fat (probably, after “Shrek” and “Austin Powers” he is not offered anything useful). He’s a great actor and it’s a shame that his role in the film is small. Mike Myers played a good role.
“No sexual harassment or rape will go unpunished!” Let all rapists know this!!! It takes intelligence to pit dangerous men against each other and play with them like hungry rats. Different roles in the main character, but in different sexy costumes on her face the same fatal smile.

How? Tell me, how can you deduce “finished” from the word “Terminal”? Well, in one of the translations it means "terminal station", but how does this fit with the meaning of the film? If you call the end of a movie lady, it could be the same Harley Quinn performed by Margot Robbie from Suicide Squad or Annie Weeks performed by Katie Bates from Misery. The way Robbie’s character is portrayed in The Terminal (I’ll call it what it’s supposed to be) can’t be interpreted as “ending.” And this film amazes by the number of producers, which are as much as 7 (!) people more than the actors involved in the film (23 vs. 16).
So, the Terminal. The film begins roughly as "Slevin's Lucky Number" - two people completely unfamiliar with each other clinging word for word start a seemingly meaningless dialogue on a deserted railway station. After that, the action moves to the nearest cafe, where Annie (Margot Robbie) works as a waitress - an ordinary girl at first glance, but clearly hiding something. Soon two men (killers) arrive in the cafe, there comes a midnighter who suffers from an incurable disease, somewhere near the station’s guard-cleaner. Four men and one girl, something is wrong. There is no reason why a charming blonde works in this godforsaken place. It is not for nothing that the killers were here, and it is clearly not for nothing that the night watchman squints his eyes ...
Favored recently by the directors of the technique, when the viewer is presented first with a bunch of heroes, and then, closer to the final, it is explained what connected them or what the essence of the previously shown, Von Stein used. He decided that thanks to this technique it will be possible to make a thriller with an unexpected plot twist, with an abundance of lies and betrayal. Something similar was in “Chaos” with Stetham, Snipes and Philip, and by the way, it was told about the chaos theory, according to which seemingly disparate events, in fact, are combined and ultimately add up to a single whole.
It is impossible not to remember another chic film – “The usual suspects” from Brian Singer, which is one of the best in its genre. There, if you remember, was Kevin Spacey's chatterbox, miraculously transformed after being questioned at the police station. And here... In general, you will see and understand that Stein simply repeated this trick.
Due to the fact that the film takes place in the dark and tells about only one night, the director brings poisonous juiciness to the frame due to neon signs and bright lamps that illuminate the twilight in the surrounding environment. Even unexplored places (such as an old ventilation shaft) have neon lighting, adding to the mystery and anxiety. Vaughn Stein also managed to create enough memorable characters. Naturally, in the first place here, the heroine Margot Robbie – a blonde in an apron with bright red lips and expressive eyes – is an undoubted decoration of the film. And two more killers – one not quite neat and not burdened with manners of decency, and the second – a kind of macho killer – seductive and with good manners. And also a potential suicidal person is a coward, who does not dare to take the last step and a limped guard with a cunning face and delusional phrases.
This, perhaps, with the positive sides of the picture is over. In the minus you can put the boredom of most of the picture, associated primarily with dialogues Here you can highlight the conversation of Annie with the hero Simon Pegg about various ways of killing, which is like a kind of circle of interests - the club of anonymous suicides. Otherwise, the dialogues are uninformative, boring and too fresh. In other words, they reflect the intellectual abilities of those who are engaged in them.
Given the fact that from the very beginning and almost to the very end, it is impossible to understand how the characters are connected and whether they are connected at all, watching their movements, as well as switching from one character to another, becomes unbearably painful. Perhaps this is a directorial blunder, maybe it is an unwritten character of the persons involved, but I personally did not catch the thread that could be grasped and understood that these are not scattered people. Yes, in the end everything falls into place, but “Terminal” is not the case when high interest in the film is maintained even despite the incomprehensibility of the show.
But look at you. I do not impose my opinion on anyone.
Anger is so strong that you stop feeling it. This is a feeling when only one thought about the desired is on your mind, which shakes everything that has been done and makes a person a dependent sociopath. Modern cinema is teeming with such stories, but not everyone can make a plot out of this scenario, rather than a written piece of paper. Von Stein, who painted and staged the painting, succeeded. But he managed not just to write a life-giving movie, but to make it so that he wants to reconsider, remembering the actions of the heroes and understanding them in a new way. Until now, in the genre of thriller, few people have managed to do this.
The sign “Terminal”, which adorns the title of the film, both in translation and in the original, has several meanings. One of them is a mentally ill person, with some kind of disorder, to one degree or another. Margot Robbie is a gentle and velvet waitress in a restaurant. That's just visitors and do not know that in the day - this bright ray works as a calm, quiet servant, pouring all coffee, and in the evening - a dancer in a strip club. The girl dreams of climbing to the top of the criminal world and not being expendable in the hands of mercenaries. Beneath Annie’s charming smile lies what many call audacious hypocrisy. Its habitat becomes a refuge where various kinds of undead wander. Here is the analogy of Tolstoy and Thin, synonymously replaced by a stupid but beautiful “helper” and an old, but nagging “leader”. As well as dying, it is not clear why an English teacher who blames on old resentments in life and does not know what he wants more. One problem is that the picture is often lost in this chronology of events, but still remains a nuclear imitated and logically interesting tape.
The script begins to trample from the start, giving us first Simon Pegg crookedly smoking a cigarette on the dark staircase of the subway, and then gradually introducing everyone else's vision into the field. Interesting approach to developing the script? Interesting, but corny replicated by everyone and thinly filmed by Vaughn Style. Frankly, finding ways to develop Annie's story could have been more exquisite and mysterious than Mr. Vaughn did. It so happens that the viewer has to rush from one action to another, sometimes not realizing what is happening, or even completely confused in the fragments. Stylistics does not suffer from all this, rather, on the contrary, it thrives and makes you animate as soon as the oppressed composition gives a hint of the next actions of the characters. What’s plus is that the whole film takes place on the same location – the Terminal subway and adjacent subjects, which stylistically resemble the inner test tube of this character of the heroine Margot Robbie. Dark colors, adjacently shimmering with a light shade, in which the red color predominates, which already gives a hint of the essence of Annie. If the story had a clear narrative - it would be much easier to understand the logic of the director, and his attempt to convey the desired.
Margot Robbie has recently been inseparable from heroines whose adequacy is worth questioning. First Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad, then Tonya Harding in I Am Tonya. Here we go again. A girl whose psyche was shaken in deep childhood and worsened under the pressure of a cruel world and their inhabitants. Margot Robbie, Matthew Lewis and Dexter Flatcher are undoubtedly good, but they are not pulling this film, but the prescribed dialogue. Of all the trinity stands out the beautiful Margot, brightly shining hypocrisy, as a way to protect yourself from the haters of your own figure. Sixty-minute conversationalist Bill (Simon Pegg) just blocks Lenny and Vince’s cliche. Feel that? They even have names banal to simplicity, what to say about their features. Consumable material, which proves its uselessness at the end of the picture.
The verdict. “Ended” has been criticized by many, but is it deserved? I don't think so. Yes, the film presents its own neon style, which not everyone liked, but does the whole film suffer from it? Nope. It is important to find a detail that you can cling to, which in this case is the style, and the film will be in your honor. "Finished" is a wonderful thriller that is really intriguing and does it beautifully. If last time the merits of Margot Robbie for “I am Tonya” went unnoticed, now – it should not pass without a trace.
Have you and I not met before? Strange, I would definitely remember you.
This terminal is the land of wonders, Simon Pegg went there and disappeared.
If you look at a couple of shots of End without context, it must be incredible. The cold geometry and divine symmetry of Stanley Kubrick crossed with the all-consuming neon of Nicholas W. Refn, Margot Robbie shows an alluring and at the same time creepy smile, and her image itself varies from a sexy waitress to a nurse; from a stripper to a noir femme fatale. However, in fact, not everything is so smooth and if you pay attention to the plot, then at best “Ended” is a delicious but soulless kaleidoscope of neon lights, whose winding storyline is so excruciating that it is difficult not to be distracted while watching. Since about two-thirds of the timekeeping has a weak intellectual value, the “finished” in the end feels a clumsy bow to “Suspicious persons”.
Most of the action takes place at the end station, i.e. the terminal, or in the nearest county. In a night cafe, a waitress named Annie grumbles at the counter, while unpleasant personalities enter the diner: a couple of killers waiting for their next assignment, a terminally ill teacher with suicidal tendencies, and, finally, a simple station cleaner. And a certain Mr. Franklin, the head of a criminal gang, is not directly present, but seems to know everything. Insidious Annie has her own plan and, of course, that collected these personalities for a reason.
The least remarkable element in Endgame, I think, is its plot. By and large, I mean, the story is a typical noir tale of deception, set-ups, and narrative transitions. The latter have the main value here - the action of the picture takes place in several timelines, i.e. the narrative is not in chronological order. This is very distracting; if in the same “Pulp Fiction” such a cinematic technique was appropriate and the nonlinearity there clearly met the goals that the director wanted to reveal, then everything in “The End” is excessively chaotic. Like the book Ended often references (Alice in Wonderland), the script literally descends down the rabbit hole. It is possible that this baffling approach, built solely on plot twists, redeems the last 10-15 minutes of the film, but they are as brash as they are unsatisfactory. The ending is a strange, but spectacular way to end the story; it affects emotions well, but you expect something... significant, or something.
In many ways, "Finished" is built on the effectiveness of acting Margot Robbie. You can literally see how the story itself suffers when it is not on the screen. She is literally hypnotizing here, especially in scenes when the actress is accompanied by insecure men like Simon Pegg. This is a real cat with mice in a mousetrap and to demonstrate all its sexuality it does not need stockings or other fetish elements, including verbal ones. With the rest of the actors is not so smooth. The normally funny Pegg seems to be wasting his reasonably thought-out character. Mike Myers appeared in movies for the first time in almost 10 years and is not very memorable, to be honest. The role of Fletcher is not too far from his image in "The Map, Money and Two Guns", and Matthew Lewis and Thomas Turgus noted only in the episode.
Modern noir, of course, looks great, but for the abundance of shadows and neon lights lost its faint-hearted characters. Even the winding story, despite all the sophistication, after careful analysis seems routine. The film, I confess, is empty and apart from Margot Robbie, who arouses hundreds of contradictory (primarily sexualized) emotions, there is simply nothing here. But the word "empty" can still be attributed to the artificiality of the world, devoid of daylight and using empty spaces to whip up a sinister effect. The main thing is that the script of End is aware of its own inanimate universe, which, in the end, results in intense attempts to hide clues to the finale of the story. In turn, this leads to the final disclosure of all maps in the format deus ex machina, and not at all from the outside of the world created by the author.
Less style, more history - and you have a classic thriller about a fatal woman. And no Harley Quinn beauty Robbie needs! That's what I did.
With your permission, first I will give one fact that can be considered a full review and after which you can not read everything further: I went to a lot of boring films (among them there were even memorable “50 shades”), but “Finished” was the only picture in the middle of which I dozed off for fifteen minutes, and the chairmate snored the entire second half of the screen action. This is a brief summary, and for details please below.
Vaughn Stein, an elderly debutant, apparently set out to deliver a sly, post-modern neonoir with an awesome final twist. If you analyze what happened at the output, then the following emerges: with the “tight” managed to do everything, because the script assumes a lot of slow and thoughtful scenes, stretching for 10-15 minutes where you can do two or three without losing meaning. Postmodern citation of “Alice” was reduced to too obvious parallels like a rabbit hole or all known characters, but the secondary here is obvious, but intellectual reinvention does not smell. The atmosphere of noir is written out deliberately bright strokes - with all the desire not to confuse anything: the action takes place only at night, and femm fatale in a red cloak walks through dull, dark slums and alleys. Even the final twist - those times! - and he is present; however, he gives everyone the familiar series "Yeralasha", plus by the end of the film becomes so boring that even Godzilla appears in a sexy maid costume - to suppress yawning is unlikely.
So this is a funny scenario: it seems that the creators of the film have achieved everything they planned; it seems that the idea was not bad; however, the action is not intriguing or exciting, none of the characters does not cause positive emotions, and the denouement frankly spit. It is difficult to even say what the mistake was, but on the surface there are at least two reasons - Margot Robbie, who did not leave the image of Harley Quinn by an iota (and, unlike Harley, her character frankly teases here), and a too flat scenario in which there are neither details that catch attention, nor at least witty dialogues. Willy-nilly recalled another quote of Carroll – I must assume, the creators of the tape least expected that the viewer will turn to it: “Who needs books without pictures – or at least poems, I don’t understand!” thought Alice. Movies without a good script and high-quality acting, too, few people need – and I want to think that Von Stein has already realized this.
Which I love so much in film reviews. The case when the impressions of the film are too clear and prosaic to develop deep thoughts against the background.
The announcement of the film showed us noir, a bunch of juicy colors, a star name and a couple of favorite sophisticated audience names, a hint of a stylish thriller. It's quite a formal set of parameters, don't you think? There is not enough in the synopsis and trailer of something deep to capture the interest of a potential viewer. It is not clear why the viewer will see it.
So, I'm pretty sure the decisive factor in viewing is the insidious charm of Margot Robbie on the poster and only that. In the face of her name, of course.
What you can see inside.
The first two-thirds of the film are able to keep the viewer at the screen while half a dozen boldly and consistently marked on the screen characters talk. Flashbacks, "a week before," "two weeks later," confusion with multiple storylines -- and so on. The plot jumps between multiple people and locations in a conventional, limited world of their personal problems and characters. Slow disclosure of personalities through verbal interaction with each other. The case when the cinema creates a sense of intimacy - as if there are no other living people in this world. And they should be, because in the last third, this approach plays a cruel joke with the narrative.
But in general, this smooth confusion does not bother. It can be perceived as an art house and author's cinema, where prominent actors broke into the caste for the sake of an acting experiment, which does not bind to anything. For fun. There are films where all the attention is focused on detached conversations and unobtrusive details in the characters. Not in action, not in secrecy, not in sophisticated camera decisions. You'd think it was a mood movie, and Woody Allen was about to come out around the corner. Or rather, its evil neon copy.
By the way, the entourage for all these dialogues is very juicy - with a minimum of space for filming, the decorators squeezed the maximum style, wrapping in every corner of literally every frame a bunch of pleasant details, objects and bright colors. All this is very pleasant to consider and not even a sin to distract a little from the chatter.
But to draw a line above will not work, calling "Terminal" pleasantly unnecessary waste of time in the company of good actors. When the time comes for the final third, and with it - the disclosure of great secrets and the aspiration of everything said in the dialogues to a semantic culmination, at the very first steps of the new intonation course, a more or less savvy moviegoer will understand the idea of the director. The ending here is a set of the most banal Hollywood clichés, which even irritation can not cause. Only a loud laugh with a slight touch of hysteria (related to the fact that this bullying was preceded by an hour spent watching time).
I will not retell the details of the plot, which I consider predictable here. Suddenly, such scenario moves will be a revelation for you. And if you decide to watch and without me, you will understand everything in advance.
Impressions after the first two-thirds of the film were pleasant just because of the understatement of this conventional world behind the screen. When their questions turn into answers to the ending of the film, all positive impressions are completely washed away by the final disappointment. I also think that a sharp change in the course (and style, perception of the film, respectively) of the film adds hostility, when a conversational movie with a share of “fire” and a minimum of plot, becomes rapidly talentless criminal thriller. And the intimacy I've been talking about finally kills the surprises. You wait until the last second for one of the main characters to be involved in each subsequent twist. And all of them are given enough time to keep every second in mind all possible options for the development of events in the context of their presence.
So, the denouement and the answers to the questions at the end lead to a general disappointment from the film. He deserves respect due to the scenery, characters and dialogue, the direct, interesting play of good actors in these roles - but all this is worth almost nothing against the background of a mockingly predictable ending.
For restrained interest to the middle of the film and a little further - follows the beating of straight answers at the end. Keep this in mind before viewing.
“I am a dagger in stockings, cold steel on studs. A surprise that no one expects. It's also much more interesting.
Unexpectedly, but still thank the distributors for the absurd localization - the name "Finished", although not suitable in content, but from the start scares off those who are hard to perceive the paintings with incurable madness, and, at the same time, warns the others that the presented work is infinitely not for everyone and will please only a few of the units.
And how wonderful that I got into these units: on the release of "Terminal" became my personal sweet, sticky, viscous neon-noir visual orgasm with a beautiful aftertaste!
It is difficult to guess the genre and dynamics, and the trailer and some annotations are only misleading and confuse even more:
Suspence, outright violence and equally outright eroticism abound, but this is not an erothriller.
The atmosphere, mood and light-colored style conjure up, but still do not call it classic noir.
So beckons to draw some parallels with “Sin City”, but this is not a comic book.
Over the mystery you can think well, and, being attentive, and something to guess yourself, but this is not a detective (however, to score and just enjoy the spectacle no one forbids).
This is not a typical criminal action movie with gangster fights and rivers of blood, but faint-hearted, who are not confused by the name, will not relax.
This is not a passerby who is worth a peek only because of the fatal beauty Margot Robbie (and here she is a miracle of how good), not a faceless theater of the absurd and not abounding to the pointless action in the eyes.
And this is not a kind of spinoff of “Suicide Squad”, although from the character of Robbie came a beautiful light version of Harley Quinn in stockings and with a retro hairstyle.
“Finished” is a spectacular gloomy and cruel provocative masterpiece in an incredibly stylish neon-neonoir wrapper of black and black humor, eroticism and British self-irony. This madness tells a rather simple, but not linear, story of revenge, with strong intrigue and a couple of unexpected plot twists that unfold in the narrow expanses of a non-existent strange world, inspired (inspired, but not based on) “Alice in Wonderland”.
The plot can be represented by a small dialogue from the film itself, which will turn out closer to the body:
- You know what I want. I want to work for you.
- I'm afraid you're late. I have already been recommended by other interested parties to solve my problems.
- I'm offering a deal. Name these sides to me, and I will pit them like rats in a cage, and you will watch. Give me two weeks and their bodies will lie at your feet. If I can, I'll get the job. Single-handed. And if not, you can eliminate this interested party. All right?
At night, a humble English teacher is waiting for the last (or first?) train. Wait for a long time and passing by a frightening janitor (pardon, night duty) offers to kill time in a local round-the-clock cafe, where a little earlier (or a little later - history is not linear) a couple of mercenaries discussed the order received. Decorates the institution bright and very daring blonde waitress, which is easily guessed by the lady who offered to arrange an interesting show to an unknown criminal authority.
There are few characters in the film: literally a couple of mercenaries, an employer who wished to remain incognito, an English teacher, a nighttime duty officer and a smart and vicious Annie, deftly juggling images of a waitress, a stripper, a BDSM prostitute, a nurse, a mysterious stranger and a sinner.
There is a minimum of action, no action and special effects, but a lot of conversation with philosophical overtones and an abyss of incredibly beautiful staged scenes. Cinematography is off the scale and 70% of the tape deserves to be strewn on the screensaver. Working with details is a pleasure for the eyes: a maniac smile and enticing lips, burning eyes and a smoldering cigarette, chic hairpins and ‘snakes’ on stockings, red lipstick and a crazy look.
Simple story, with simple motivation. With motivation to catch, over time. And, catching, you will have to scratch your head: "To whom?" For what? And why? and the answers are not the most obvious. The last quarter of the film accelerates and turns the idea that you have already managed to “solve” yourself, throwing a few interesting turns.
Simple, gloomy and conversational, but qualitatively and without sagging. Dynamic editing, bright images of the main character, excellent acting work, juicy visual, subtle dialogues, powerful black humor, play with the first and second plans, bright colors, minimalism and attention to detail - these are the strengths of the film.
I can only recommend a little “moved”, bold and adult lovers of vivid hallucinations in particular and strange films in general, who appreciate layeredness, integrity and visual splendor. And to Margot Robbie’s fans, of course.
P.S. It is better to watch in the original language.
Neon light has become almost the hero of this tape, it is everywhere and everywhere, all the action is accompanied by this light, it gives shadows and penumbra and eventually you start to get tired of it. Although by the way, you start to get tired of the film itself, from dialogue and change of plans, it is a ragged plot and uncomplicated intrigue. And from Margot Robbie in the image of a fatal beauty, you also start to complain. The film is built around her and for her (if you can say so), the rest of the characters are scenery for the heroine Annie, who acts as a cruel manipulator and locomotive of action.
Von Stein became a hostage of a well-known principle – I’ll beat everyone – and as a result, he didn’t even reach it. There was not even an imitation or reshoot of what had been seen before, but a cutting of allusions with other films, with the addition of “Alice in Wonderland”, which is remembered for the place and not for the place. In the end, towards the end of the film becomes frankly boring, a meager set of characters, thoughtless dialogue and neon light lead to the intended ending, and the pleasure of going to the movies gives way to disappointment. And of course it's all in the streams of neon from the screen. Even a small timekeeping causes a feeling of protracted episodes and the film as a whole.
Annie – a girl, so to speak, with extensive life experience is determined, Margot Robbie managed to convey the brightness of the image, but not the depth of her heroine, she is like a cartoon character – beautiful, but not natural. Bill performed by Simon Pegg amazed with his inappropriateness in this tape, there is no reason why this hero was needed, it is clear, but looked like an alien from another script. Matthew Lewis (Lenny), Dexter Fletcher (Vince) and of course Michael Myers gave the images vivid, but devoid of inner content, were played character traits, not character. While it may be silly to wait for an entertaining movie like a comic book, it was different in Sin City. About Tarantino and Ricci do not remember at all.
Of the good I can note the music, but in neon light it also did not save.
A good idea at the heart of the film could have been better, one that didn’t lead to feelings of dissatisfaction after leaving the theater.
"The End" is artistry and beauty in their most insidious manifestations.
For good reason, the above two attributes - artistry and beauty - as the main components of the main theme of this film were indicated by me. In fact, give any product of modern cinema enough artistry, at least in one character, which with its external image, behavior, manner and style of communication, look at the surrounding universe will plunge you into the very depth of its history - and you will get a worthy film creation with a plot that is really interesting for the audience. Back up the artistry with the bright unprecedented (unique) beauty of the same character, in its most diverse manifestations, and you will experience intoxicating joy from what you saw, captured with your eyes ... from which you may not even be able to remember the details of the story itself.
Director and screenwriter Vaughn Stein, who directed this grim philosophical-criminal drama, I must admit, made a great debut in full-length directing. 2 planned participation in the project ' Ended', rising, beautiful and unique Margot Robbie (starring and co-producer), of course, turned out to be the main noteworthy ' Cherry' all this crime-dramatic cake.
The story of the main culprit of the whole story unfolds and operates throughout its length under the cover of a dark night, shrouded in its mystery - the inhospitable world of English crime, which the viewer observes in the form of: a small modest diner, sultry world of night butterflies, gloomy streets and a deserted metro station, around which the entire tangle of key events revolves, and, incidentally speaking, hides the original name of this picture - Terminal (from English '), on which the creators correctly decided to focus on the name of the station in which the main chain of events unfolds.
The film ' Ended' tells us the story of a young girl named Annie, appearing, as mentioned earlier, in a variety of roles. With excellent uniqueness combining at the same time the characters of a frivolous blonde simpleton, sexually seductive rubbish (expressed in an obscenely positive style) and an insidious cunning person, Annie leads a dangerous and seemingly confusing game at once with several men, each of whom has a special role in her entire plan. Acting with incredible accuracy and genius, Annie pursues her main cherished goal, which the audience will get only traditionally in the epilogue of this picture (avoid spoilers).
A kind of mix of several genres at once makes ' Ended' already interesting to watch:
1) a thriller in which the actions of the main characters unfold in the inhospitable, neon-drenched dark streets of a criminal environment ruled by greed, greed, betrayal and deceit. Throughout the gradual approach to the long-awaited unpredictable culmination of Annie’s story, viewers will often be overcome by feelings of anxious expectation, indomitable experience and excitement.
2) a philosophical drama consisting of amusing dialogues between the sweet waitress Annie and the sick teacher Bill about suicide, the painful and meaningless living in illness, and other wisdoms from the world of the ubiquitous philosophy of life.
3) comedy, which in small but excellent portions will be served in the same amusing dialogues of the main characters.
I must note that one of the most memorable movie images of the Australian actress Margot Robbie - the crazy, dangerous and voluptuous girlfriend of the Joker - Harley Quinn (from the film ' Suicide Squad' David Eyre) - has a lot in common with the heroine Annie (unless she does not have a baseball bat in her handles and a combat circus coloring on her face), which is guaranteed to deliver a lot of unforgettable emotions and impressions from watching. Frankly speaking, only for the sake of one lion's share of screen time devoted to beauty Annie in the whole film - you should already take time to watch, and you will be satisfied.
Traditionally acting in the interests of marketing (attracting a mass audience), Russian film distributors this time also did not stand on ceremony and subjected to a tough treatment of the original title, which resulted in the result '. At the same time, from my point of view, much to my surprise, the next free translation turns out to be not entirely meaningless and absurd, because, by viewing even the first seconds of the trailer, you can notice the unusually insane and slightly crazy character of the main character Annie with a lot of different images, which in aggregate, undoubtedly, leave nothing else but to call her OVER!
Perhaps, if it were not for the eternal and already uninteresting game of our distributors with the translation of the title of the films, it would have gone unnoticed. Here we go, Gorgeous! The word for Russian slang is sacred and implies all the most insane, uncouth. Almost mate. In fact, of course, "final" or m. b. "Terminal", which reflects the essence of the picture. The end of the road in every sense of the word: life, suffering, deception.
I will say immediately the film came out indistinct, sometimes strange (in a bad sense), and I probably would not say anything about him at all, if not one circumstance, about which later.
The beginning was mysterious.
The location is unknown. Heroes are simply in various scenery: railway station, cafe / diner, old and stylish apartment, abandoned building, medical laboratory, confessional. What city is this? It's unclear. Which country? Probably America. Maybe not. City of Zero.
Time. Totally indefinable. The real one? There are signs, but no. Phones from the '60s and '70s, but maybe it's just part of the director's style. Clothes refer us more to design styles than to the real era. The neon glow hints at the 90s. You can't even understand the time of day. It seems that all the time is night, but this is questionable because we are always in some constantly changing scenery.
The conclusion is one – all this is completely irrelevant. Heroes froze in some invented reality, or rather unreality. Maybe it's just a dream of one or all of them. Limb, the hell of every sinner, and all the characters in the film are bad people.
The atmosphere. There's a lot of controversy here, too. Sometimes it seems like we're watching black detectives from the '40s. Golden Hollywood. Suddenly, neon interiors transport us almost to the world of cyberpunk.
The narrative itself is nonlinear. Even in parallel. You don’t understand the order of events after the first 10 minutes. While it was justified and idiosyncratic to explain at the end of the film (without spoilers), it's annoying. Only the laziest director did not use this technique. Soon the consistent presentation of events will become exotic in the cinema.
That we have all the signs of author's film. Hi, Lynch, Nicholas Refn, Wim Wenders. We tune in to the complex, full metaphor and visual feasting of suras. A new Twin Peaks is about to begin. That, that, that. Nothing! Next, we observe a crumpled detective, with banal plot twists and a predictable ending. Maybe it's just a form and wanted to show something else. The characters of the film conduct long dialogues on philosophical and “deep” themes: death, lust, vice, quote classic works (especially Lewis Carroll) and films. Only by listening to them do you realize that they are absolutely nonsense. The director uses the style of Tarantino, namely: a lot of chatter as if about stupidity, but filled with deep meaning. However, it does not work at all here. Empty "babbling" remains that way. Words hang awkwardly between the characters and become awkward for the actors who are forced to play it.
The director definitely wanted to shoot what was worthy, stylish and cool. I wanted, to quote the movie (of course Carroll), to jump down the rabbit hole. Didn't work. He did not find her, or he was afraid. There was not enough determination, a bit of madness, maybe talent.
However, there is still value in the film. Yeah, yeah. Her. Margot. The new evil blonde angel of American cinema. Here she embodied, but rather parodied, all the roles of fatal blondes (and not only). She and Marlene Dietrich, and Marilyn Monroe, and Rita Hayworth, and Grace Kelly in one bottle. Hitchcock's dream. She's good. Even banal images already repulsed by the history of world cinema as easily as it changes wigs. Empty monologues pronounce ironically, boldly and untightly, making them meaningful. I want to watch her, I want to watch her. The film, thanks to her, becomes quite watchable. Reproach me with banality, but it works! It's like coffee and milk. When you like something, you don't get bored. Margot Robbie is a diva, but with one important quality: self-irony, which gives her the chance to become a serious actress. The movie Tonya vs. All has already hinted at this. Perhaps she will bring the noble cause of Charlize Theron to its logical end.
For anyone who loves blondes, come here!
The debut work Von Stein is very difficult to attribute to any genre, but not because the tape is a successful compilation of genres, but because the director-debutant turned out a stupid vinaigrette.
In the center of the story is the fateful person Annie, appearing in different roles. She plays a complex game with several men who, at first glance, have nothing in common. By pitting them against each other, it pursues its cruel aim.
About acting work much can not be said, because the actors have absolutely nothing to play. All the characters in the film are one-sided mannequins, which are only needed so that the heroine of Margot Robbie had someone to interact with on the screen.
Thanks to this tape, Simon Pegg has played one of the most depressing roles in his career, and the wretched grins of Michael Myers cause nothing but shame. It would seem to omit the actors of the second plan because we have here Margot Robbie in the lead role, but even here it did not work out. It is not the first time she played crazy and charismatic heroines. First, she captivated the audience with her interpretation of Harley Queen in the next film, and then drove critics crazy with her wonderful acting in the film Tonya vs. All.
In "Finished" Margot again tries on the image of a mad person, but this time bringing nothing new. She constantly changes outfits, in every possible way twists, but looks all this after the above roles a second time.
Secondary is the main feature of the film. The director desperately tries to make his creation a multifaceted and original film, but his attempts are doomed to failure. None of the elements in the film work properly. It all feels like an inexperienced beginner's hand.
Von Stein tries to imitate both Tarantino with his dialogues and Guy Ritchie with his chaotic editing, but at the same time heaps so much on the simplest plot with many designs that none of the elements of the film work as it should. With a rather modest 92-minute timeline, the film seems unnecessarily long. It seems that the director originally planned to shoot a short film, but at the last moment changed his mind and stretched it to a full-length. This leads to the fact that the film completely lacks any dynamics.
Initially, the film drives into anguish with its stretched, ridiculous dialogues, half of which can be safely cut without harm to the plot, and towards the end, the director, like a machine gun, begins to stuff the tape with twists of varying degrees of lousy, turning the film into some kind of farce. Not only that, they are painfully predictable and here the tape does not shine originality. By the end of the film, you will have associations with both the film 'Suspects' Singer, and the early works of Fincher.
"Finished" is a sea of missed opportunities. The film did have the opportunity to become an atmospheric and interesting thriller, but due to the talentless directing and poor script, we have a secondary and disposable movie that you will forget as soon as you step into the theater. Of course, you can just enjoy the charisma of Margot Robbie and the local atmosphere of noir, but it will be even more challenging if you consider all the disadvantages of the film.
I'm not affected by trailers. Too many times I bought a crazy commercial and almost every time I got a semi-finished product instead of a decent movie. But ' Finished' fascinated immediately.'I'll go!' - I decided without hesitation. More specifically, what will I see there? Sexual schizophrenic with sadistic tendencies? Or maybe a burnt-out con artist walking over corpses to success? Or is there a girl who has to do the dirty work to survive?
Who is in front of you in the form of a blond seducer? It's hard to understand until the end. And this intrigue is the most powerful thing in this film. The performance of the actress is not perfect, but the level is frankly good. Robbie didn’t get anywhere and ended up with a strong role, but she could have done better. Her image is probably a hodgepodge: a little bit from Catherine from ' Basic Instinct', a little from Black Mamba from ' Kill Bill', a little bit from the blonde from ' Psycho' if you will. A fateful lady who is easier to kill than to understand, much less to forget. She's a goddess.
Generally, that killed all ' gardener ' and who he is - I guessed half an hour after the start. But the ending here is really unexpected. Simple, strong, logical. This is another hyperbonus of the film.
The atmosphere delivered, too. The decision to immerse all the characters in a gloomy, deserted and vulgar reality is a directorial success that was brilliantly executed. There is no plan that stands out from the general concept. The camera job is almost perfect. Sexuality, danger, mystery - emphasized by the chamberman perfectly.
The plot is confused, in some places incomprehensible (until you look to the end). This makes it seem like the movie is a bit long. And a lot of dialogue. Yes, apparently it was on the dialogue bet. But to the level of Tarantino, they certainly fall short. And pretty much.
I liked the game and the director’s references to world literature. And it's not just about 'Alice in Wonderland' Simon Pegg's hero looks like Dostoevsky! And visually, and their torments and vices! I almost fell off my chair when I realized that the image was taken from our genius.
Musical decoration? I won't. It has power and a spoiler. I liked it.
In general, there are no failed moments in the film. Something a little better, something a little worse. But everything's at a good level. The only thing that got a little upset was that I went to see one movie and saw a completely different one. And that's the credit of the writer, the director, and of course the stunningly beautiful Margot Robbie. But as you know, our expectations are our problems. They have nothing to do with the painting. Definitely recommend to catch ' Ended' on the big screen. Especially since it is not finished at all, but very... what? Everyone decides for themselves.
Perhaps so, but before pouring dirt on the movie, is it easier to understand? We have a good job of director-debutant Vaughn Stein. To understand the movie, you need to watch it to the end, otherwise, if you roll your eyes on the half of the film and rely on other people's opinions, you can safely put an end to the tape.
What does the film take? Absolutely the atmosphere. Everything happens at night with dark shades and a little audible music. The atmosphere of the film reminded me of the PC game "Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines". - Exactly the same glow and a little crazy. If you don’t know what I mean, then it’s simpler – the movie sparkles with lights and fascinates with dark shimmers of madness. Neon stands out in distinct moments and accompanies the movie throughout the story. And I agree, I was surprised by some of the twists. It is not for nothing that the work of Lewis Carroll “Alice in Wonderland” is often mentioned here – this fairy tale is one of the examples in the genre of the absurd. There are plenty of allusions in the film. And in the plot, a frequent parallel with the book slips in the episodes, and in the final frame, GG speaks about the importance of the book. How crazy is she that she knows her by heart?
Our narrative is nonlinear and the ending of 30 minutes is the main reference point in the tape. Because all those conversations that may have been misunderstood by many are revealed and dotted with i. And since the storylines are somewhat surprised by their plexus in 1 and how everything is connected.
The ragged montage only explains everything in its places - this is neo-noir. In the center there is a bright visual component, there is a separate problem, violence, there are no negative and positive characters - these are the main features of neo-noir. But sometimes there was sarcasm on noir, the feeling that the director was laughing in the face, portraying a parody. An example of this is comedian Simon Pegg. I think he's in the picture for a reason. The length of the plot is a minus. Sometimes I wanted to cut the frame in the literal sense, because the dialogues are cliched, images are taken from other tapes, predictable. You can see how the director tried and seemed to overdo it. Too twisted plot is predictable and you can easily predict what is going on.
Result: As I said earlier, there are many allusions here, but there are plenty of stamps, you can watch, but not everyone will. A twisted plot from head to toe does not pay off in the plot, was it worth it? Perhaps, having stated everything easier, there would be more admirers. Not a bad debut, but people learn from mistakes!
P.S. Critics and audiences have already appreciated the film.

Too oversaturated visual component and confusing, but ultimately predictable plot, makes this neo-noir picture too mediocre among the many representatives of this genre. Although most likely noir or neonoir is more style or form than genre. 'Terminal' I would call cheap neon. Remember the Renaissance or Sin City, Max Payne and the Avenger Frank Miller. In general, you can list for a long time, but these films have their own highlight; action and dynamics, simple but strong motivation of the characters, multiple locations, color and light, etc. There is none of the above in the terminal. Well, what's there? There are five characters, mostly one scene, briefcases with clues, crumpled interaction and communication between the characters, long dialogues (which are generally interesting places) and a drop of phantasmagoria closer to the finale of the film. Of all this pun, only a wonderful cast can be distinguished. I will not list all, and promoted Margot Robbie I also do not want to disassemble in parts, it already holds the stamp of the character Harley Quinn. But Mike Myers was pleasantly surprised by his appearance, we can say that his character is a key figure in this film, a certain vucula and observer.
In the end, I want to say that ' Terminal' became for me a passing and unremarkable tape, on which time was spent, and it was all spent - still not in vain.

Annie wants to work in the underworld, pursuing her goals, the most cruel and ruthless. Being an orphan, the girl spent her childhood in an orphanage, where she did not know any affection and participation. The world of English crime is not simple, so Annie leads the most insidious game, reincarnating in different roles. What are the true reasons for her actions and who will be the next victim of her torture is the main intrigue of the picture.
Von Stein handed over his noir painting. For the director, this is the debut picture, and I think the debut was a success. The story unfolds quite quickly, the film does not give time to get bored. Stories seem to go one after another, forming at the end of the picture. If you compare with other paintings, then the color content of the film is “Explosive Blonde”, and in the plot, which often refers to “Alice in the Old Age of Wonders” by L. Carroll, the picture is similar to the works of Swedish Stig Larsson about a girl with a dragon tattoo.
Margot Robbie is an actress who likes to try on the images of bad girls. These include Harley Quinn from Suicide Squad and figure skater Tonya Harding from this year’s Oscar nominee, Me, Tonya. In “Finished” Robbie was able to enjoy the image of Annie, because here she was not limited by the limits of certain comics or a particular line. She could have been who she wanted to be. The result is a very bright role, albeit creepy, but also memorable. Simon Pegg, outwardly so made up as F. M. Dostoevsky from the portrait of Vasily Perov, got used to the role of a cornered lamb, which was not so white and fluffy before. I want to praise Max Irons, who perfectly played the “template” handsome fool with whom Annie spins as she wants. Mike Myers, who has not appeared on the big screens for a long time, dispelled his comedic role and became the main antagonist, in one of the images he simply does not recognize. The role of Mr. Franklin is a good addition to his acting piggy bank.
This movie is for all fans of the detective, thriller and even horror. All these three genres are well intertwined here. I watched the picture in the original language, so for me it is still “Terminal”, in the scenery of which the plot is developing. But the characterization of "Finished" fits the main character of the film.
Noir thriller. I still can’t understand what kind of bullshit distributors changed the name of the picture – in the original version it was supposed to be called ' The End', which more accurately fits the essence of the picture, but because of some concerned personalities on the Internet, for whom the words ' End' and ' End' – the same thing – the picture began to be called so. I confess that I was a little ashamed to buy a ticket for this painting from the cashier because of its title, I was afraid that she would misunderstand me. It was a good thing I bought the ticket. So that's literally from the wheels. I remind you that this opinion reflects the personal conclusion of the author, and does not seek any objectivity. All you will read next is my personal perception and thoughts that come to mind.
So the virtues:
1. Excellent acting Margot Robbie - as many have guessed, because of her and went to this picture, even looking at the trailer. For I felt that Margot would not fail, and she did not fail. It went into such an unrealistic breakup that it was the kind of thing I missed in Suicide Squad & #39 (which was pulled, frankly, only by her and chic music). She's so crazy here, she's just amazing. She’s a natural, fatal beauty who can easily compete with Eva Green’s character from Sin City – so beautiful. I just fell in love with her! And how can you resist such a fatal beauty?
2. The atmosphere is such a noir in a modern metropolis, where everyone is in neon signs, and where no one cares about everyone. The atmosphere adds to the appropriate music, which I do not particularly remember. And besides, all this neon serves a purpose, if you look closely. It has some kind of mystery, some kind of symbolism, it seems to show the inner world of all the characters. It's like he's trying to tell us something.
3. It’s a dashingly twisted story – at first it was a bit difficult to understand the characters, as it seemed that they were talking in some abstractions, as if trying to confuse the audience. But gradually the whole ball begins to unwind. The picture even surprised me several times.
Disadvantages: To my great regret, it was not without them.
1. Banality - I already said the story is twisted, but here's the ending - a stamp of pure water. I already guessed in the first third of the picture what the matter was and what the purpose of this whole performance was. No one is questioning the twist. Even a banal story can be presented in an interesting wrapper - here it is. It is a pity that I have seen this before, and this does not surprise me.
2. Similarity with ' Explosive Blonde' - No, I'm not talking about plagiarism, but just noticing the facts: both the main characters are blondes, both are damn stylish smokers, both are good with weapons, both have a similar purpose and the same motives, the atmosphere is almost identical. These are only facts, but, according to a personal feeling, Margot’s heroine just beats Charlize’s character, and sends her to the knockout!
3. Cruelty is a badge '18+' it’s not just for pont – the picture is really cruel, and I seriously do not recommend watching the picture strongly impressionable people, children under the specified age and pregnant women. Believe me, it is not worth it, or else it will not affect the psyche, away from sin.
A bit about the main characters:
1. Annie performed by Margot Robbie is a waitress in a round-the-clock diner who is involved in a dangerous game with dangerous people. He is clearly pursuing some of his reasons for which he cannot reach. Sexy and devilishly dodgy fatal beauty. Margot is a miracle!
2. Bill, played by Simon Pegg, is a lonely man who once wandered into the cafe where he met Annie, and which is the beginning of a series of strange conversations and the birth of peculiar thoughts. If you listen, you can even agree on something. It was interesting to see Simon with a beard, and also in a dramatic role, although here he tries to joke, although it looks a little inappropriate.
3. Lenny played by Matthew Lewis is a thug, whom Annie just conquered and dragged into her game. You're young, very good with yourself. In general, Neville Longpoop is growing.
As a result, a good noir picture with a famously twisted story, a magnificent Margot Robbie, which will be a true gift for fans of this genre, although not only for them.
