At the beginning of the creative path, the roles were minor, episodic, then deeper. He is very remembered by the audience in the play in the comedy “Nedorosl”. In the theater he played with such legendary Soviet actors as Faina Ranevskaya, Rostislav Plyatt, Lyubov Orlova, Nikolai Mordvinov. It was from these people that he learned skills, but not only. Nikolai Parfenov lived near the Cheremushkin market, where he often visited, and watched scenes from real life, looking for types from sellers and buyers.
In the movie, the actor was also the king of episodes. Viewers remember his bright characters in the films “Athonia”, “Wizards”, “Thirty-three”,
