Yuri Moroz could not help becoming an actor. After all, in the town where he was born – Krasnodon, Voroshilovgrad region – the famous film “Young Guard” was filmed. And now Yuri Pavlovich is called not just an actor, but also a Soviet and Russian film director, screenwriter and producer.
After graduating from the Moscow Art Theatre Studio School in 1979, Yuri joined the troupe of the Leninsky Komsomol Moscow Theatre and worked on its stage until 1987.
His film debut took place during the filming of Sergey Gerasimov’s dilogy “Peter’s Youth” and “In the Beginning of Glorious Affairs”, which was released in 1980. Here he starred together with Dmitry Zolotukhin and Nikolai Yeremenko and here he first saw his future wife Marina Levtova. By the way, it was not so easy to win her heart, and Moroz used a “military” trick – at first he tried to please the girl’s parents, and only then he began to take care of her herself. In this marriage was born his daughter Daria Moroz, who today is a famous actress. And Marina, unfortunately, died during a trip on a snowmobile in February 2000.
But back to the career of our hero. After his first film role, he starred in the films “Circus Princess” (Tony), “Boys”, “The Mystery of Blackbirds” and “Lermonts”, and then changed his life abruptly, enrolling in the director’s faculty of VGIK. His debut film, where he already acted as a director, was the film “Witches’ Dungeon” (1990), in which, by the way, his wife starred in the role of White Maiden. Then he shot the detective “Black Square”, writing a script for it. And in 1995, he tried himself as a producer when the film “The Arrival of the Train” was filmed.
The star hour of the director Frost was the shooting of the series “Kamenskaya”, followed by “Women in a game without rules”, “Children of Vanyukhin”, “Brothers Karamazov”, “Apostle”,
Pelagia and the White Bulldog . Frost’s production list includes 11 films, most of which he directed himself. /
